This story was extremely entertaining because of how creative the main character was by selling the notebook as opposed to using it. There are people complaining about him not using the notebook but the exposition literally explains his inability to in the modern world in addition to the fact that Minoru was never a twisted God-complex patient like Light; not everyone who comes across a weapon of mass destruction is going to abuse it. Many complain about how Minoru's death was an asspull, but I believe it was actually funny as the whole point of Death Note was that anyone who uses the note will
...
die, whether it is an asspull or not, you will die. It is almost like the gag of the story.
The art I believe was really good, just like all of Obata's work, although it was not as flashy as his other works.
I believe the characters were the weakest point of this one-shot because we only follow two major characters-Minoru and Ryuk, and they get little development; albeit this type of storytelling really cannot produce proper enough characterization since it is a one-shot as mentioned previously.
Overall I enjoyed the story very much and I believe this story can be an inspiration to almost a sequel to Death Note, about the notebook itself and its human interactions. The story should be told in arcs with us being introduced to a different protagonist each time getting the notebook, and how each protagonist has different plans about their predicament and how well their plan resolves, and how they die in the end.
