The story is clearly inspired by Punpun but flipped. Punpun is about a boy with a warped view on reality making a cycle of abhorrently bad decisions, Shounen no Abyss follows a moderately innocent boy trapped in a community that progressively breaks him down.

...then you might like Ikemen Girl to Hakoiri Musume add

Its a very similar story but with an inverted set up. Instead of a girl falling for a guy who looks like a girl; Ikemen Girl to Hakoiri Musume is about a girl who falls for a girl who looks like a guy. also the writing is better and the story is wholesome.

I feel that Tokyo Ghoul is based off of Deadman. without to many spoilers: -Both follow young male leaders were there thrust into a world they don't understand after a thing happens, making them into an setting's "monster". -The "monsters" have unique powers that are all based around manipulation of a body part -one of the MC's first allies is a Sword/Blade user -there is a Bird Motif and the last generation's "Strongest Monster" is referred to as "The Owl" -there is a secrete police of Anit-Monster soldiers who are the Good Guys on paper but are horrible people and there are a few more similarities without needing to get into spoilery specifics
