"Depending on who you place in the center of the same accident, the characteristics of said accident change kaleidoscopically. In other words, there is one accident. However, there are as many stories explaining it, as many as there are people involved in it."
— Gustav St. Germain, Episode 1.
I've been wanting to watch this series these past years. Never really knew why I was not able to get a hold of this series, only until this year.
Baccano! is a historical-themed anime, just because it is historical, does not mean that it's about the Japanese history or other things (World War I, World War II). As the
...
date written on the synopsis, the anime is set in Chicago, 1930's. Now then, what would this anime be about? Given the supernatural tag, it must have something to do with ghosts or spirits, or something of the sort. Well, no. Supernatural, in this case, something that has a connection to being "superhuman". Not mostly, but you get the gist.
"There are two sides to every story."
Well here in Baccano!, there are countless of them.
As I watched the first episode, I didn't really quite get what the two characters were talking, or what the story is and will be about. But as soon as I continued watching, I slowly got to understand it, even if it's just bit by bit. But there were still times and moments where I had so many questions in my mind about the certain happenings running in the show. But I finally understood it, shortly after. It is quite confusing, at first, since the series tend to jump from one scene to another every episode. But you'll be able to catch up with it soon after. For me, the plot and story of Baccano! is quite unique, as to say. It's simple, yet the impact and delivery of the story is great. Given that it only has 13 episodes, it was able to manage to sum it all up and—bam.
The highlight of this series is the characters, yes. I was really amazed, no jokes. I kept repeating how great the character connection is. They make the anime more amazing as it is. Each and every one of them have their roles and own side of story, and as expected—they delivered and starred it greatly, they also have their not-so-unique personalities, but somehow, it makes it seem like they have unique ones. At first, I used to dislike some of the characters, but shortly after, I came to like them a lot, since I was able to fully witness their stories and somewhat understand their goals. Some might have light role(s), but nevertheless, they are still like-able, but despite them being minor characters, they still hold a somewhat-huge role in the show.
I really liked the opening of Baccano! even though it's only an instrumental. It kinda gives off a jazz kind of feeling, and it feels groovy. Something like that. The ending song on the other hand, is quite sad. It is a bit slow. And it somewhat seems like the artist is really feeling the message that is being conveyed by the lyrics. I liked it too, nonetheless. The sound effects were good too. Kind of feels like realistic. And the seiyuus, I must say, they've done a great job. And their voices suited the characters. Although at first, I thought that some of the characters didn't suit their voices. But I got over it, and kinda got used to it. In the end, all of it suited them perfectly.
I truthfully enjoyed Baccano! a lot. Words aren't enough to describe how enjoyable and how great this series is, or how much I really liked it. Honestly, I still can't get over the fact that I've already finished this series. I've been anticipating every episode like crazy, and finished it in one go. It feels like 13 episodes is not enough to satisfy my needs—is what I had in mind. But despite that, Baccano! is one example as to how short-run anime should be able deliver its story perfectly, and leaving the audience hanging and wanting for more.
A second season would be great. But thinking about it, Baccano! is fine as it is now. But oh well, you can't blame me. It's only natural that a fan would be wanting more from a great series.
If you're thinking about whether you should watch Baccano! or not, I recommend you watch it. It's a really amazing show with amazing story and characters. Checking it out wouldn't hurt, and I guarantee that you won't regret it.

!!This review includes the first season!!
And yet, another anime with no meaningful story line. More like it doesn′t really have any. The first time I stumbled upon Arakawa Under the Bridge, I thought it was really great - guess I got my hopes up and got nothing. Nevertheless, I believe it gave me some good laughs, from what I can remember. I guess not all 'slice of life and comedy mix' anime are always that great, for me. Unlike Working!! which became one of my favorite slice-of-life and comedy mix anime. I wonder why this anime isn′t tagged as Slice of Life.
Yes, story. Where is
...
the story? If I were you, I wouldn′t search for it - because you will never ever find it; Arakawa Under the Bridge is just another slice-of-life with comedy anime that is lacking enough story and plot, but I guess you won′t be needing any of those because you will have a good laugh out of it. But I can′t really guarantee it, since the jokes and gags are merely boring, in my opinion.
Arakawa Under the Bridge (x Bridge) consists of an awkwardly yet funny and crazy (at the same time) set of characters, which is most probably what you would consider as one of the 'strong' points in the anime, but without a plot, it wouldn′t be any better. Here we have an i-don′t-know-if-they′re-really-a-couple couple Kou and Nino, yes, they are very awkward. I′m not really sure if they really like each other, but let′s just think they do. Let′s leave it at that; We also have a Kappa Mayor, a Star-masked guitarist-singer, Hoshi; a Falcon, with a human body, a guy who only walks over white lines, a sadist farmer-lady, named Maria, and a transvestite guy nun who is referred to as Sister.
We still have heaps more crazy characters that are involved, but I guess mentioning them would be more crazier. Arakawa′s set of characters is really great, they are very unique, and each of them have their own funny side to them with a pinch of mixed-personalities.
What I like about Arakawa is its uniqueness on the characters, yes, they are in the recent time and era, but what′s up with the falcon and kappa mayor and star head? From which planet are they from? Earth, my friend, they′re from Earth. One thing I also like about Arakawa is the genre, Seinen, with Comedy and Romance. Whenever there′s comedy, I always hope for Romance - but not everything comes the way I want them to. But this one has it, and I very much like the mix of genres so; In this case, you will most probably like the art together with the mix of the catchy intros and outros that fit the image and theme of the show perfectly well.
But the thing that I didn′t like in Arakawa is its lack of Romance, it didn′t even fully bloom. They shold′ve deepen the love between the awkward yet funny couple more, so that we will truly agree on the fact that they truly love each other. But I guess it′s impossible to happen based on Nino′s personality and slowness when it comes to love. And I′m guessing that the lack of romance is for the best, because Romance shall never conquer comedy Arakawa, it′ll lose its taste.
I really enjoyed watching Arakawa altogether, but not as much as how I enjoyed Working!! which is somehow closely the same as Arakawa in terms of their mix of genres, but both are different in a lot of aspects - one is the theme. Despite the lack of deep story, you′ll get smiles in exchange. From this point on, watching shows with no plot but with comedy and slice of life is now my thing. So I guess you should try and loosen a bit, and free your self from overly-mainstream set of genres in a show from time to time. It isn′t much a waste of time and effort, once you start to try it.

!!This review includes the first season!!
I′m not really that strict when it comes to anime with no 'goal' and story line. If it has a great art, music and set of characters - I′ll watch it. And of course, I need to rely on my enjoyment, if it′s not pleasing enough to make me smile, drop it. Working!! Is a really great and funny anime, with a simple sense of humor and jokes. At first, I wasn′t really paying any heed to Working!! because I thought this anime is just a mediocre and will be boring as hell - well I was totally wrong at
...
all the points.
Talk about story, this anime doesn′t really have what you would call a 'plot', neither does this story have a goal that they need to aim and complete at all costs. If you don′t like shows with no story and just full of gags, this isn′t for you. But hey, this one′s different - by different I mean really different. Truly, Slice of Life and Comedy mix is one the best combination of genres in a show.
What about the characters?
The characters in Working!! are all great, they have their own personalities that most probably suit their images and outer appearance really well; Working!! has a great mix and set of characters - Popura who is as cute as a hamster, Takanashi or Katanashi as referred to by Popura who is a lolicon — in which he is denying strongly by stating that he just likes cute things/kids. Yachiyo, a closed-eye character who is very naive and is in-love with the Manager, Kyoko, who is not really doing her job and is just eating all day. Satou, who is a blonde-haired handsome dude. Souma-san who has a radiant smiling face and Inami who has an androphobia - let′s say she′s a bit of a Tsundere and cute (but not as cute as Popura) but her androphobia sickness is pissing me off really really bad.
The characters are very like-able, though at some point, you may find of them as annoying and irritating, it can′t be helped since not all creations are perfect, and every person has something they will not like, based on their preferences.
What I like about Working!! is its simpleness - the genres are balanced and distributed really well. The art is very simple and clean, along with the cute melodic intros and outros which are very catchy. I also like the comedic flashbacks with a mix of light drama in them; and the introductions of the new characters—who are only supporting—is also very much like-able. Because their intros have a mix of light seriousness and a touch of comedy.
I really like comedies, especially when there are parodies involved, like in Gintama. Though the genre of Working!! doesn′t involve parody, it′s still very much funny, like so. Though if you′re a type of person who barely laughs, I doubt you′ll go along with the gags and jokes, if I do say so. Nevertheless, the slice of life share of genre, is also quite much on par with the comedy here — if there′s a slice-of-life type of scene in the anime, rest assured that there will be an incoming gag and comedic insert. The comedy and gags will never ever be missing.
The thing that I didn′t like about Working!! is its lack of story line, given that there isn′t one. It′s not that I really dislike it, the things is, I hoped for a more great development with the characters, along with their 'story'; And at some point, I also hoped for romance to bloom, given once again that there isn′t one. If there were a romance to bloom, I think that lots of people would really like this show more, as much as they like as it is now.
As far as you′re concerned, I really enjoyed watching Working!! despite the fact that it has no plot and goal involved, the substitute is your laugh and your smile. I′m really glad I didn′t follow others′ opinion to check out a new refreshing environment - which was Working!! If you′re hesitating to watch Working!! because of other people′s review, do not hesitate. Follow your own eyes and your own preference, who knows, you might get hooked on something you thought that wasn′t worth the time and effort. For me, it was totally worth it.

"It′s not as if anything has changed, though."
When I have first came across with the first season of Kimi to Boku (or 'You and Me' as referred to some people), I thought that it wasn′t going to click, maybe it's because when I first saw it, that art doesn′t look so great; but I was totally wrong - the story captured me, even though it doesn′t have much of a plot, the story is refreshing and kind of makes you happy. I already knew that there′s a sequel to the first season, but even though I already know it, when Kimi to Boku ended, I
...
was a bit sad. I was like - I don′t want to wait for too long !! *A*
I was really glad hours, days and weeks passed by so fast. I was strolling somewhere in an Anime Site, I saw 'Kimi to Boku 2'. What the HELL ?! I must download this, fast !! So as soon as I saw the 4 episodes currentlly released, I immediately downloaded them; I don′t wanna watch ONLINE, the buffer′s taking FOREVER to load >.> And that pisses me off.
Anyways, let′s get to the review:
- Kimi to Boku 2 or You and Me (2), hasn′t changed at all since the last time I saw it (when was it ?). The story still revolves around these 4 male childhood friends and the transfer student. In this time of the year, most of the new-released Anime′s doesn′t have a plot or storyline to follow through. But even though they don′t have plot, doesn′t mean it′s not worth the watch. If you are hesitating whether to watch a certain anime or not, try watching about 2 - 3 episodes first, if it doesn′t really climb up to your interest, then it′s up to you whether to continue watching or not. Slice of Life isn′t actually my taste, but if the story is like Kimi to Boku′s, then why not try and watch some episodes of it and see for yourself if you′ll like it or not.
Nonetheless, nothing has changed about the 'story' of Kimi to Boku. Still refreshing as ever XD
- I′m not really sure how to grade an Art, since I suck when it comes to Art, especially DRAWING. OH HELL NO. You can′t trust me to draw things for you, it′ll bea total DISASTER I tell you ;A;
What I like about Kimi to Boku′s art, it it′s 'simpleness'; for me, it′s not too flashy nor too dull. It′s in the MIDDLE. I really like simple arts, sometimes, when the prequel of an anime is finished, once the sequel is aired, you′ll sometimes notice a change in the art. Since Animators change >.> That sucks. But on Kimi to Boku, it′s 'usual look' is still the same as ever; not that I′m complaining or getting sick of it, rather, I really like it. I don′t like to criticize arts too much, because I′ not a professional my self. At first, you might draw really BAD,but once you get the hand of it, without realizing, you′re getting good as time pass by. And that′s how I feel about the art of Kimi to Boku.
- Kimi to Boku′s OP′s and ED′s are really suited to the Anime′s Theme; the songs are sort of ballad; they′re a bit slow at first, but after a minute or two, the beat′s getting faster. But the song and beat is really catchy. I quite like the OP, since it′s not too LOUD, if you know what I mean. No,seriously. Sometimes I wonder, in some Anime′s some of the songs are too CRAPPY. Like WHY ARE THEY CHOSEN AS AN OP/ED ? My ears are.. bleeding. /dies Kimi to Boku′s ED, is also like the opening, though the song is not getting fast after some time. I don′t quite like the Intro of the ED Song ;A; (Please don′t kill me !) But once it turns into the middle-like part, it′s getting good. I really like the ED Song, because even though the song is like a SAD Song, it still gives you a bit happiness while you think of some good things. (GOD I FEEL LIKE CRYING)
I always SKIP the OP′s and ED′s of an Anime, but if it′s pleasant to my ears, I sometimes listen to it, and while the OP/ED is playing, you have minute or two to do some things while listening to it; sometimes, that′s my purpose of listening to OP/ED′s even though my ears are bleeding while listening to them XD
- Each and every character that left you for a moth, they are still the same - The girly-type and quiet type Matsuoka Shun, the grumpy Tsukahara Kaname, the Twins, Asaba Yuta and Asaba Yuki and the carefree transfer student Tachibana Chizuru. They are still the same since the last time we saw them. Nothing has changed, and that′s why I like Kimi to Boku, a lot :) They didn′t change the personalities of the characters that I loved for who they are. LOL Some unfamiliar characters might be introduced in the upcoming episodes, so better stay tuned *_________*
- As far as you′re concerned, I′m really enjoying watching Kimi to Boku, it gives of a nice feeling and aura. Though the Comedy can only be considered as 'light' it′s still great. Witnessing the everyday life of these 5 Males, what more can you ask for ? (Ummm .. please give me a Popcorn or any snacks.) Since I have the feeling that Kimi to Boku 2′s ending won′t be that great and happy, I thought of not giving it a high score yet, some might think this is overrated even though only 4 episodes are out at the time. Nevertheless, I hope you′ll enjoy watching Kimi to Boku, as much as I am enjoying watching it. Just sit back and relax, let us witness the daily lives and daily activities of these 5 Highschool boys.

“A Cherry Blossom petal falls at 5 Centimeters per Second.”
This sentence is none other but a line/quote from the first episode of the anime, said by the female protagonist. Some of you, who haven′t watched this anime might ask - “What′s the connection of the title to the story ?”. I can′t quite remember if I have ever asked that question to my self. But one thing′s for sure, you won′t be able to hear that line, AGAIN. Well .. It′s not like you need to hear that quote every freaking minute. But still, it really doesn′t have much of a connection anymore once the
...
story gets far. Trust me.
- 5 Cm per Sec, is about a boy (Takaki) and a girl (Akari), who were really close as classmates and as childhood friends; Boy-Girl Childhood Friend relationship is, but a mainstream to watcher′s eyes. Truth to be told, once you watch a boy-girl childhood friend relationship, you might easily guess or know how the story will continue on. Like those childhood friends would become a couple, yes, mostly. But here in 5 Cm per Sec, compared to mainstream plots of Childhood Friends Relationship—in which the childhood friends become couples—The story is a bit different, but surely, still needs a deep storyline.
When you watch the first episode, you think that 'This is a good start.', yes. That is where the story only emphasizes the atmosphere of the two childhood friends, and gives of a strong feeling of the childhood friends towards each other.
And as soon as you get onto the 2nd episode, it somehow makes you feel sad. It′s like you can feel how Kanae feels; how she likes Takaki, though Takaki doesn′t like her, nor look at her more than just a friend. But after that episode, you won′t be able to see Kanae anymore. That′s what I didn′t like about 5 Cm per Sec; They need to deepen the bond between the characters, they need to deepen the story. 5 Cm per Sec lacks much of a plot, it′ll really make you wanting for more. 5 Cm per Sec is about ones distance, relationship and hardships.
If they made the story differently, it might′ve been better from what I had expected for it to turn out in to.
- 5 Cm per Sec has that simple yet full-of-feelings kind of art it′s not that great, but you won′t consider it as 'decent'. It somehow feels like that artist is really in to drawing the scenes, backgrounds, sceneries. It′s like .. she is drawing it with a strong feeling, somehow getting deeply emotional together within the happening to the story. - If you take on to the not-so-great perspective, you′ll think it′s just normal. Well, yes it is. Mostly, every anime′s have the same style/kind of art. But surely, one is different from the other.
- Note: 5 Cm per Sec doesn′t have an OP Song;
The ED Theme 'One more time, One more chance' by Masayoshi Yamazaki is just right, appropriate to the story, and how the characters feel, their emotions, everything; While listening to the song, it makes you wanna shed a tear, that just truly means that the song is sang good.
- The characters who revolved around by the story, is Akari, the female protagonist who said 'A Cherry Blossom petal falls at 5 Centimeters per Second.' ; Takaki, Akari′s childhood friend, and also her 'boyfriend' ; Kanae, Takaki′s classmate in his new school when he transferred. These are the characters whom you might shed a tear with, each and every one of them experienced sadness, happiness and hurtfulness. That′s what made them move on, to not look back at the past, except for Takaki. It took a long time before he got to move on from Akari, Takaki′s the one who suffered most because of their distance and their lost of way to communicate.
Even if I haven′t experienced that kind of hardship, I know that it′s really hard to move one if you really love the girl. But still, if you used to love her, but she had already moved on. You must also move on and accept the fact that you two can′t be together anymore.
- 'Enjoyment' → 'Disappointment'; Honestly, I didn′t enjoy watching 5 Centimeters per Second. It totally changed my way of viewing about it. I thought that it′ll be great - but NO, it wasn′t. As I have said, the problem in 5 Cm per Second is the STORY ! The story still needs a lot of improvement and deepening ; 5 Centimeters per Second, on the other hand, portrays a great amount of real life scenarios. And that is it′s strong point forth. People who will watch this anime, might think that this is great and might also like this. It′s up to you, because people have different tastes and likes.
'Not Helpful' and 'Helpful' people, FEEDBACK is greatly appreciated :D

Zombies, actions and fanservice.
That′s what you′ll be witnessing through the whole series. Highschool of the Dead, is not just about Zombies. It′s also full of ecchiness, when I say 'ecchi' it means like that. Just remove another piece of cloth after the other, it won′t be just ecchi anymore. Still, Highschool of the Dead is also full of actions and fights, and that′s what brought the anime. Compared to other zombie-themed anime′s, Highschool of the Dead is a lot different, the thing that made Highschool of the Dead different, is it′s mix of suspense thrill and too much fanservice. Set aside the fanservice, it′ll be
...
a great hit.
- A disease which was easily passed through the whole city, and the cause is unknown or where the disease came from. Students rushing towards the exit, fighting each other for freedom, betraying your friend for your own good. That′s how it works, when chaos and the beginning of the end is running towards you. Takashi Komuro, a normal highschool boy, who is living a normal life. But all of it changed with just one happening, that′s when the chaos began.
Highschool of the Dead or HOTD, was a really good watch from the start, the only problem here is the fanservice. To be honest, I′m not a fan of ecchi or fanservice. If it′s a comedy - ecchi anime, I might even look it up. But with just pure ecchiness, no. Seriously, there are zombies lurking around the whole city, and you even dare flirt around? Sigh. That′s one of the flaws in Highschool of Dead, if the creators of HOTD wants ecchi involved in it, they should′ve just made it 'light'.
And the girls really do have large breasts, they′re as big as a Watermelon, I′m not joking. Panchi - a lot of scenes where their underwears are showing; I don′t know if this is all about surviving between chaos and death with these revealing bodies, underwears showing etc. Still, the actions are great.
- HOTD′s art, is one of the 'good' parts in the whole series. The art is great. But, not knowing it, I think it still has some flaws, but those flaws are not that big of a deal. But considering the, panty-showing and other ecchi-related stuffs here at HOTD, that′s the things which I didn′t like. The art, moving on to the 'breasts', they shouldn′t have made it TOO BIG. By TOO BIG, I meant what I have previously said. The zombies are well-drawn, still, even though they are a zombie, there are still panty-shwoing method. Meh.
- Now on to the next part. We are now at the Sound Section.
I really liked the one and only opening song of HOTD. It′s a J - Rock, so naturally, it will be loud. About the ending songs, I rarely and barely listened to any of those ED′s, so I probably don′t have anything to review on those. Now we′re on the BG′s, then again, it′s kind of there′s no background musics. More like, the volume is too low. But there are still some few background sounds/musics which suits the scenes and mostly, the action scenes.
The sound effects (i.e guns, zombie moans etc.) I′d have to say, the sound effects were great, but not too great.
- Characters, yes characters. What would an anime be without the characters? So from here, we have different characters with different personalities and traits. But of course, not like some 'crazy' personality. That′s too much to handle. All the characters share the same goal - To stay alive, and to save their family. Some of the characters are nothing by annoyances; might as well not tell you. Nevertheless, some of the characters really knows how to fight.
- Highschool of the Dead is an 'enjoyable' anime, if you put in terms of fanservice and ecchiness; but when you put it in terms of actions and zombies. Well, it′s a really different matter. Depending on the watchers on which side they take. I am unsatisfied on the ending, many questions were still left unanswered, many things are still needed to be taken are of. And there′s one important question that needs to be answered: How are they going to stop the virus?

Inu x Boku SS or what others may refer to as - Dog and Me.
Adapted by the manga Inu x Boku SS. It′s not too long ago when I read the manga, but when I found out that there will be an anime, I thought of trying to watch it until it comes out. Honestly, it made me a little bit impatient. Because I really wanna see the animated version sooner.
And of course, my hopes didn′t let me down. As I thought, the animated version is great and much like-able.
If you are reading the manga, and currently at the latest chapter. You might be impatient
...
in waiting for the latest episodes of the anime to come out, why? It′s easy. It′s because of the scenes in the manga which is really making the anime fans (of InuBoku) to be impatient, they would want the scenes in the manga to be animated faster; and I am one of them.
- Inu x Boku SS isn′t an anime that′s out-of-the-ordinary. It′s just like some Supernatural anime, but with a bit of Romance and light comedy (just a really light comedy). Living in a apartment complex, in which you have neighbors, who are not what you would call 'normal'. Instead, you have neighbors who is a demon, a nine-tailed fox, a giant skeleton and a whatnot. That′s a new pace for some watchers.
But I think that it′s mainstream -- no?
The story start′s of at a flashback, yes, flashback. I must say that these flashbacks which starts the story is really good. It makes you understand the story more and tell what′s the cause or reason of the problem. Flashbacks are kind of annoying, especially if it doesn′t have a connection or whatsoever from the episode of the storyline. But in InuBoku, it has a connection from the story, related to a past of the character.
- InuBoku′s animation or art is rather light and soft. It′s not very unique, nor plain. But the art is just normal. The characters are really well-drawn, especially the guys or the bishounens. And the girls are cute too. It does have some flaws in it, but I can′t just point out where. Sometimes, the characters are drawn as chibis, when they are performing a light joke/comedy on-screen. Mostly, Ririchiyo′s the one who is drawn as chibi.
The coloring fits perfectly to the characters, what I meant to say was, the hair color of the characters and other body parts which is easily seen. What catches your attention the most, that is.
- InuBoku′s opening themes and ending themes were .. I don′t know what to say. I don′t really pay attention to the opening songs that much. Most likely, I just skip them. But I have heard a bit of the opening theme. It gives you a rock-theme feeling. I guess it doesn′t fit InuBoku at all, does it?
- Here we have the not-admitting-it, the loyal one, the taciturn one, the pervert one, the sadist, the bad boy, the masochist one (?!), the brother-like one, and maybe a mix of everything and anything. The characters of InuBoku are all great, each and every one are most likely introduced, but not in a character introduction way. They really made quite an amusing set of characters here, all living in the same apartment complex, and of course, all of them are not normal. All of them have supernatural powers.
They transform whenever it is needed, or by saving their masters, or people whom they serve.
- InuBoku is an enjoyable anime, even though some of you might not like it, why not give it a go? I believe that it′ll improve and be more exciting in the following episodes. I agree that InuBoku is not an out-of-the-ordinary kind of anime, the story is not that unique either, it′s quite mainstream. But give it a little credit, why not watch it ′till it satisfies your enjoyment? Every now and then, all of us anime watchers should move on to a new pace. Having a rule like - I won′t watch an anime that is boring; yes, I agree, even though some anime are boring and a crap, you still need to give it a go and give it a little credit. It might not meet your expectation, but whatever.
All in all, InuBoku is an enjoyable anime, though I′m looking forward into more excitement on the upcoming episodes.

Love, Family and Sorrow.
Clannad [After Story], shows that everything comes to an end; I know that all things will come to an end, normally they would. But Clannad [After Story], shows it upon a persons certain point of view. Or what he thought of these “end” and “endings”.
Clannad [After Story] was the one who changed my whole viewing about Drama and Slice of Life genre anime. Clannad changed me for a while there while I was watching it. I didn′t even held a tear while the most saddest parts were playing right before my very eyes. After Story had a huge changes from the first
...
season, but the story is still revolving around Okazaki Tomoya, who always thought that nothing would and could never change, until a certain girl entered through his path - Furukawa Nagisa, whom Tomoya confessed his loved to in the final episode of the first season. It′s not like some other anime, which when the guy confesses and the girl accepted, it′ll just end there -- no. After Story continues from where it left off; continuing the path where Okazaki Tomoya is walking at.
They then had a relationship, where the both of them vowed that they will, no matter what, share every sorrow and happiness each one have. That both of them would help each other. After Story can actually be seated beside a real life; After Story is not some mediocre story, After Story shows us how life can be full of happiness, how having a family feels, how sad and full of grief life can be. After Story can teach you a one or two, life is not that easy, and that doing nothing would do you any good.
People who haven′t watched After Story might think that, this last season would be exactly the same as the first season. No, they aren′t the same. Yes, I agree that the characters are still the same, but as soon as the story of After Story in the beginning part whereas it only centered around Okazaki Tomoya, his friends, who were special to him, also changed and had their own path which they walk through while Tomoya′s path is still growing.
- The plot of After Story, is hugely different from the prequel, whereas the story runs along with Tomoya′s companions and acquaintances. After Story had it′s plot viewing only around Okazaki Tomoya, from him, being just a highschool student at first, and now he is a man who works for his family, who shreds blood and sweat.
Every now and then, After Story′s plot is still one of the best that one can ever line up with. Changing ones point of view in life, how many changes can happen, how many tears might fall down on your cheeks without you, noticing it.
After Story had a huge impact at me, the prequel, who had some comedy and funny scenes, changed to full drama in After Story. Where I wasn′t able to hold back my tears on the sad parts; though After Story had a little bonding moment, to change the atmosphere a bit, but then again, changed to a tear-jerking one.
At first, After Story′s part give′s you a light and normal feeling; how former friends can reunite, have fun, and think of the good old times. Think of it as like a trailer, because when you′ve watched the full storyline, prepare your tissues and try to hold back your tears. After Story emphasizes many standards of life. Also showing us some things that aren′t meant to be.
After Story teaches us a lot of things of what you might stumble upon at when you grow up. It teaches us how having a family can be fun, how having someone to help you, or you can rely on can be like. It′s not all about smiles and happiness. Every now and then, you need to have some waterfall dashing out from your eyes. Grief and sorrow, are the things that Tomoya changed his life, again, after the one dearest to him, was taken. Tomoya didn′t know what to do, or how is life is going to be after all what happened.
People who had lost their dearest to them, must not let sadness take you with them, even if someone was taken from you, stand up and be strong. No matter how hurtful the things were that was given and bestowed upon you, always think of the good things that might come once again. After Story, on the other hand, had an alternate and one you can call, a true ending. (It′ll be much of a spoiler to post it here.) But that might only happen, if the person really can′t take living by himself, or God might even wake you up from your nightmare. Tomoya had a dream, where she first met Nagisa, but, it was an alternate one, daresay. She kept calling out Nagisa′s name. And that′s when she knew, how important she was to him.
Many people has their own point of view in After Story, smile, happiness, sadness, grief, and love. That′s what all the things you′ll be stumbling upon while reminiscing through After Story.
Who knows? It might be just a dream, and you might soon wake up from it.
After Story shows deep emotions and strong points all through out the series. Don′t think that nothing would change, everything and everyone undergoes changes. And experiences something they didn′t imagine to happen to them.

Chihayafuru, an anime that revolves around a female highschool student who loves playing a certain game; not a game which is popular or requires a technology like nowadays. Playing a certain game, or most preferably, being obsessed over it, is a persons′ hobby or liking.
Many people have different tastes when it comes to a certain obsession - games, people, foods and etc.
Kneeling on a tatami mat for a long period of time, and moving your hands fast as if there′s no tomorrow, encouraging one′s self to win in a match like no other. That′s how a game called “Karuta” works.
- A girl named Chihaya, began
...
to like Karuta, when one of her classmates taught her how to play it. And that is where it all begin, well, not likely yet. A lot of things happened after that and before that. It′ll be much of a spoiler to summarize the story around here.
The story of Chihayafuru (or Chihaya Full) is circling around a Japanese game, which they call Karuta. The game is composed of a cards that has a verses of poems written on them. Our main heroine, Ayase Chihaya, is currently aiming to win and be entitle as the “Queen”.
Chihayafuru′s story is can be compared and matched up to our real life. There really isn′t anything unique in the story, but the story can pretty much emphasize a lot of things throughout the whole series. I barely have seen an anime that has a theme of a Japanese game; like Karuta. For me, it′s quite a new pace for me.
Chihayafuru′s story also has a lot of lessons. They teach us lessons that no other can compare, teaching us how to move forward, to never give up, and fight ′till the end. Friendship and cooperation is one of the things that makes a group shine. And the Karuta club has it; it was a bit hard for Chihaya to recruit members, including one of her former rival when she was young.
But that didn′t stop Chihaya, she was still persistent and eager, to the extent that the person would easily give up (he also got a bit annoyed: if you know who I′m talking about here.)
Chihayafuru, as I said, teaches us lessons, not only lessons, but also hardships that one might bump on to. Even if there are hardships and challenges, never give up. Chihayafuru shows that, no matter how impossible your dream is, you′ll be able to obtain it if you try and never give up.
- Chihafuru′s art is not that simple, and also not that unique, let′s say that the level is in the “middle”. Chihayafuru′s art has some flaws in it, but it′s not that annoying and not that big of a deal. The only thing that has it′s flaws, are the characters eyes.
I consider and take them as odd ones. Don′t know why, but the first time I watched it, the eyes caught my attention. I guess it′s because of the lashes that sticks over their eyes.
The backgrounds and settings are great and doesn′t catch that much of an attention; what I mean is, sometimes, some anime has backgrounds that catches more attention than the characters on it. And some of their settings is like not well-drawn.
I would rate Chihayafuru′s art great!
- Chihayafuru′s opening songs, ending songs and also the background musics, are all in all very good, why? I consider the ending theme a little sad; I guess that′s what made me rate the sound 8. It has a little sad and melancholic feeling in to it. I know that the songs theme might be because of hardships and challenges. It greatly fits. Still, the ending theme is great and i kind of liked it.
The opening song, on the other hand, is great. Honestly, I really liked the opening song, it had a nice and happy feeling in it. And the singer′s voice is also great; this is just me: but I guess the opening song′s theme is about their friendship, and bonding times; considering them friends and clubmates.
- Chihayafuru has some characters which has a different kinds of personalities in them; tomboyish, persistent, food lover, smart one and a bit of everything mixed to fit in one character. Every character has it′s personality that most likely, what makes them shine. None of the characters is annoying, but you might think of Chihaya as annoying, because she cries a lot; but that′s part of her personality, she becomes persistent and strong-willed after all the hardships, challenges, and loses she had.
I′d say they made quite a mixed nuts in here. The characters who were young in the earlier year in the story, had quite a change. They made the boy-looking one into a beauty, the whatnot one into a bishounen (that′s what I consider him).
I think you′ll like the characters a lot, not just because they′re part of story or whatever, but because they′re the ones who teaches us the everything and anything. And that no obstacle can stop them.
- I′m glad that I picked up Chihayafuru. I got quite hooked in the plot and/or storyline. It was quite unique for me; that a simple game, can make you happy, what′s more? It′s the reason and also your goal of your dream. I hope Chihayafuru can make you strong, even if it′s just an anime. It′s partly like a true story. Encouraging us to reach and fulfill our dream.
To be honest, I′m really not into game-themed anime. But the story made me hooked, and makes me want to finish it earlier.
Any kinds of obstacles are nothing but a piece of cake, that′s what Chihayafuru′s story is about (also about Karuta and their dreams together.) :D

I haven′t written a review for the first season; though I have finished both seasons last month. Just think of this review as a sum of Season 1 and Season 2 of Code Geass. So let′s start reviewing, though I know it′s late. Just bare with it.
- To be honest, I′m not fond of Mecha. But Code Geass is the one and only anime which I was fond of watching that is a Mecha-themed anime; why ? Because it wasn′t just all about robots. It has some Light Drama mix into it, and a little Harem, though not in a romantic way.
The continuation has a
...
lot of twists, and will make you go - "What happened last time ?". You never expect the Second Season to have a lot of puzzle and twists that needs to be logically solved. Like the one year time-skip, when they thought that Zero died and Lelouch lost his memories after he was brought to Charles, his father, by Suzaku - his friend and One of the Knight of Rounds.
The creators of Code Geass really made quite a shocking continuation, I daresay. They thought of what should be the next happenings thoroughly and carefully; so that they won′t make any disappointment in the ending; the fans were the ones who were disappointed - including me. I never thought of those happenings to occur while I was still in the midst of watching it non-stop. If you are going to watch Code Geass R2, be prepared by the twists and puzzles along the way.
- The Art/Animation is one the elements which I look upon at before I watch anime. I really liked the art, it was really amazing. You can really feel the deep emotion made by the characters, based on their expressions. Though sometimes, Lelouch′s face is creeping me out when he′s like going crazy for some reason.
The settings, expressions are well-drawn. Especially the Knightmares, which is normally very hard to draw. The effects easily blend with the fight scenes. All in all, the art is Great!
- I am disappointed in the theme songs, especially in the Ending Songs from the first season to the sequel. But one of the Opening songs, entitled as "World End" is really pleasant to listen to, when I listen to it, I remember Code Geass [especially the last episode] and I feel like crying. I require you, when watching Code Geass, skip the Opening and Ending songs; except for World End. The Ending songs are not much which is related to the Anime, what I mean is the animations in the Ending songs.
They are far from what I expect to change, since I hated all the Ending songs of Code Geass R1 and R2.
But the Background musics are a little different kind of feeling from the Ending songs, you can feel the deep thought in a sad scene from the background song that is playing, that′s what will make you blend in in the scene, make you cry and feel sad in what′s happening.
- The characters are great. Though some of them is nothing but an annoyance. They are the ones who makes a scene really deep into the occurance or happenings; they are one of the most important elements of an anime. They reveal a deep emotion and expression in each and different kind of happenings; like Lelouch, he is one of the most characters who are greatly emotional.
Sometimes the characters′ deep emotions can easily change into happiness, depending on the situation they′re in to.
- All in all. I really enjoyed Code Geass, as much as I am enjoying Gintama; though I am a bit sad and disappointed in the ending. I didn′t expect {spoiler} Lelouch to die.
I am easily drawn into the anime, from the very first happening, ′till the end. I wish they would make an Omake, or an Alternate Version of Code Geass R2. Code Geass is an anime which you will be hooked, and will watch it ′till the end.
Even if it consumes your lunch time, dinner time, and most likely, your sleeping time.
Code Geass is rather different and unique in it′s own way. All the strong points and scenes only happened in the climax. To those people who thinks that Code Geass is a crap, sh*t, and whatever. I think you guys don′t have a bit of a sense of humor, or by far, you don′t understand or maybe, you didn′t want to understand the wholer story.
Feedback and critiques are greatly appreciated!
