A snappy review...
This anime is an absolute classic in it's genre. The story, the art (which grows on you).... everything about this anime was outstanding. The characters in particular were captivating. There's a bit of everything in Mai Otome... action, adventure, romance, friendship, and betrayal. I cried many times while watching this anime. I also laughed my head off too. Nothing could have been added to the story to make it any better. The only room for improvement in this series would be in the art and sound. A very moving addition to Mai Hime and in my opinion it

A very brief review for those of you who don't feel like reading a book:
Mai Hime is one of if not the best anime I've ever seen. The story is gripping. The mentality of this story: The life of the one dearest to you will be taken of you fail. Not many anime can bring you to tears both from sadness and at times from hysterically funny moments. The only cons would be the art and at times the sound... yet you learn to love the unique style. Fantastic series! I'd watch it over and over again. So much to ponder ...

This is a light hearted high school slice of life with incredible humor. You will be rolling on the floor laughing at the silliest little things that come together to make this anime truly outstanding! Watch it! Watch it! Watch it! Not sure you want to yet? Ok... down to business...

A short but beautiful high school romance. Lovely story line, with that classic tragic past buried underneath. Not entirely original... but a rather gripping tale of tears... concealed and lost. This anime is very deep and profound in many ways. Perfect for snuggling up with a blanket (don't forget the hot chocolate) and enjoying from start to finish.

I went out on a limb when first deciding to watch Mnemosyne. But WOW!
The story is excellent! A bit confusing at times (mostly because it fast forwards 1 or (way) more years at a time between episodes), but always fantastic! Take into mind before watching that this anime can get quite bloody at times and that there are some semi hard core sex scenes/nudity. I actually found that if you subtracted those two elements the story would definitely be lacking. Mnemosyne was a refreshing change from some of the more light hearted animes I've been watching.
