Despite what the chapter counter says, this manhwa really ended at 179/180 chapters. I had it completed there with a 10/10 until one day seeing there's 20 new chapters.
I was quite happy with the original ending, other than a few things that simply were left unaddressed. These new chapters try and give closure to some of those things which is a positive, but all in all I don't feel they added much.
Imagine your regular 13 ep anime season which finishes well with the last episode, then has some beach OVA which is completely voluntary to watch. This feels more like the last episode ended almost

To be honest I didn't pay much attention while watching this, but it really didn't matter that much..? Whenever I looked back the same things were happening as one to two episodes ago - MC fighting the same monsters or the same boss, doing the same motivational speech to himself as every other time he fights something stronger than him.
The visuals are really good, there are beautiful sceneries and ton of intense fight scenes. Another thing to appreciate is how the MC does lose a fight from time to time, but this positive is quickly mitigated by effectively zero death penalty and every other exclusive ... Jan 5, 2025
Started off rather interesting but gradually lost it's substance. Any worldbuilding to the magic system and stakes in battles are quickly made irrelevant as we see our MC become OP undefeatable amazing arch demon whoa!
Almost feels like a slice of life, everything from the romance to the drama to action follow the same bland routines. There are very few exciting twists to the plot, unless you want to count every villain becoming a friend once their couple episodes long arc ends. The thing with actual slice of life anime is, they do the 'wholesome' side of the story much better than this. It's very mid, it's not ... Jun 21, 2024
For a show now mostly focused on a nation/city, we sure see little of that place. We do see all sorts of meeting rooms, a lot is said about the city and it's improvements but little is shown outside still slides of infrastructure during meetings etc.
My biggest personal gripe with this season so far is the rewatchability. Some episodes - not all, will definitely be skip episodes on a second watch. This was not the case for the first season, and to a lesser extent on the second. If all the episodes were released at once, or atleast a couple at a time, I imagine there'd ... Apr 29, 2024
If the whole of Mushoku Tensei season 2 should be described with one word, it'd be uneventful.
The pace has definitely changed. Checking back, the second half of S1 contained the entire demon continent arc. Currently 17 episodes into season 2, there isn't much to even note. There is no tension, the MC either has dropped or simply doesn't bother to pursue any of his previous goals. Adventuring has been nonexistent. There are very few unique locations or interesting events as the story is restricted to one peaceful city. What adds to the slice of life feeling is just how convenient it has been for MC at ... |
