To be entirely honest, I'm not sure whether I liked it or hated it.
STORY:
The anime is pretty much a typical romance anime. It is not that much of a creative story-line but I guess it is different. I liked the fact this story was realistic but somehow I didn't feel satisfied with that, or the way the characters lived it out. The anime is very literate and is filled with many deep thoughts and feelings. The three parts of it I found pretty contrasting, and don't see why some of it had to be shown as it meant nothing, which lead to me thinking
...
the whole movie was pointless.
ART:
The art is one thing I can be 100% sure I enjoyed in this anime, it was absolutely amazing! Everything was in detail, and the scenes we're spectacular! The backgrounds were so beautiful, I wished I was there in that anime able to admire them myself. The art really helped you vision the settings and get a feel for the different places they were.
SOUND:
The sound didn't leave that much of an impact on me for me to remember anything great about it, the only thing that stayed with me is the song at the end, because it so fittingly went with the story that it was kind of weird.
CHARACTER:
Touno the protagonist seemed like a great guy, someone I would personally love to meet. He seemed a lovely man to have around, but to be honest, I hated the way he concealed himself in the past, was always looking into the future, and spent none of his time living in the present. I know if he did, the story would become pointless, but that was one of the things that ruined it for me, and probably added to the depressing feeling I was left with.
ENJOYMENT:
I can't say I enjoyed this all too much, and I can definitely say I don't find myself watching this again, although I do not regret watching it. Most of the time it was like waiting for something to happen, or him just talking about feelings. When anything did happen after the long wait, it would only be a couple of seconds worth of "happening". For a romance, I didn't find it all that romantic although it was sad, but sad for them and the sad, pathetic lives I felt they lead and did nothing about.
OVERALL:
Overall, It was okay to watch, though it did annoy me when I really thought about it. I recommend this to any one soft at heart since I guess this is heart touching, but if your looking for something with more stuff going on and that will leave more of an imprint I wouldn't recommend it.
