Mashikaku Rock and Koko ni Iru yo! don't have many similar aspects. But in both of these works, the main female character (Kitagawa/Sumino) is a quiet, unnoticable person. But that changes when she meets a main male character (Azuma/Mutou) who shows the female that they should voice their opinions.
