I'm kind of disappointed with this series. I started watching this cause I it was pretty highly rated and I wanted to watch sports anime. I thought the main character's family background was too dramatic and I wasn't really keen to watch a soap opera that was dragged out for way too long. The plot development and struggles were also dramatic. There were bullying issues, death, and injuries.

I think people looking for thrilling sports matches should give the series a try. For me, it was kind of predictable which team would win but it was still enjoyable for several reasons.
First, was that just because the team won the match does not necessarily mean that the main character or side characters won or was satisfied with his performance. Since the mc is a pitcher, when he couldn't strike a batter out and had to get switched out, there is a sense that he lost to that batter.
