The anime is depressing, and quite stale, to be honest, The first episode I enjoyed initially, but the rest were... very strange. Fucking EVERY CHARACTER is gay.
Honestly, I am a fujoshi, but if every character is gay, and just wants to rape Ash, I'm obviously going to have problems. I don't get people who rate a show very high, because at a certain point they cried or something but this wasn't very enjoyable. Almost all characters are gay, and except Ash none of them are explored, at all. They are interesting but meh at the same time. I've read the manga, it faces almost the
...
same problems. Overall, I don't recommend this very much, but who knows, might be interesting for you.
It's just not very good.

Sekirara ni Kiss is a love story revolving around two characters and their relationship with one another (just like every romance) As someone who enjoys reading teen fiction, this is a cliche mess that I enjoyed. The story isn't a web of complex plot elements, nor is it something that a person would enjoy if he/she is into emotional romances, heavy dramas or interesting multi-dimensional characters. Instead, it is simply a romance where the side-characters aren't given a thought to. Granted, I haven't read all chapters (I'm waiting for them to be translated.) but for the 12 chapters that I have read, the story is
...
generic and the characters are bland.
Yet, I liked it because sometimes you just want to read something that makes you want to smile at the dumbness of the characters or see two people gradually fall for one another.
Story: (6/10)
Fairly interesting, would be perfect for a comedy or romance if done right, but it hasn't progressed enough for me to want more of it.
Art: a close 7 to a light 8.
The character designs are not very attractive, fairly boring. Backgrounds don't really exist to be backgrounds, the characters are overall pretty bland in design but work well with the setting. Both main characters don't have anything particular design element that makes me notice them or remember them, the art if expanded upon could turn out to be very good and unique. The clothes don't match with the characters, as if it were something of a pattern which they would wear to make it feel interesting, but overall, it is pleasant to look at.
characters: (3/10)
The weakest element in the manga, characters don't have their own unique personalities that make me want them to exist in real life, nor do they have qualities to make them feel like they belong in this setting. This started out pretty good, Chitose seemed to have a persona that seemed really interesting if expanded upon at first, but basically boiled to down to a cookie-cutter shoujo female. The male does have some aura of mystery surrounding him, but never developed. The brother (love rival) serves to be a rival ,and that's what he exactly is if I were to describe him. Chitose would be described for her obsessive love towards the male lead character. The male lead sort of sucks, he rejects any male contact towards her, he makes me feel angry and irritated. Overall, I hate him for his shallow character, and his judgmental behavior.
Enjoyment and overall: 5/10 (mediocre)
The material could've been handled exceptionally well, but failed by every means. Overall, I'd recommend if you like romance, and are open-minded towards cliches.
UPDATE: Latest chapter sucked. My score has been updated from a 7 to a 5.

I read this manga quite some time ago, all facts presented in this review in correlation with the manga might not be all correct, but most of the review is based on the story and characters.
SPOILERS BELOW:
May I remind you, this is purely my opinion, and me giving it 6 isn't a bad score.
For me 6 is a fair score, something not good but nor bad, merely 'meh.'
The story is driven entirely by drama, and characters which fail to understand their mistakes. Firstly, To begin the with: the story is interesting, revolving around a girl whose future sends her letters to make up for the
...
death of her so-called 'love interest', but this is where it falls flat. this story might appear more compelling to slice-of life fans, while those quite not much interested in the genre might dismiss it has boring, which it seems to be case for me. The 'sci-fi' aspect of this series is very insulting to sci-fi fans or anyone with a brain, it's simply throwing a bunch of letters in the middle of the fucking ocean, and praying for them to be sent.
The drama is not believable enough, it's just an edgy kid blaming himself for the death of his mom, which makes no sense because anyone with common sense would know that it was not his fault.
As for the future aspect, the main girl is annoying as fuck, stuck up on her highschool crush, and resentful of his death. She has a child, a caring husband, yet all she does is reject him and favor the dead emo kid. The manga should clearly be telling the cast of it's characters to live with the pain, and not reject the truth; instead of forcing this stupid sci-fi shit that I clearly find dumb.
Granted, some scenes were emotional, but without the drama, the cast of characters are not compelling enough to drive the story. Overall, a 6 out of 10, the story was painful to sit through, but I was able to find some scenes of genuine enjoyment, by that I mean: It's so dumb, it's seems okay. I guess.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone, unless they like sappy shit, I couldn't find myself 'crying' at any moment, half the story in, I wanted the main girl to just... be excluded from the story.
