The basic concepts are definitely similar. Both shows feature an unconventional family dynamic made up of two adults in dangerous fields of work (spies and assassins) who end up adopting daughters and the comedy elements revolve around these dangerous people trying to navigate parenthood. I feel like Spy x Family is more suited to those who prefer more ridiculous comedic elements and Buddy Daddies is more suited to people who prefer comedy that's a little more grounded. Buddy Daddies is a grittier show with considerably darker moments and themes at times but both are brilliantly funny and surprisingly wholesome. If you want a sweet family story with a little grit thrown in then both of these are good choices.

If like me, you`re a huge fan of vampires I`d recommend both of these shows. Though not exactly the same they both have, in my opinion, the perfect balance of classic vampire seduction and the monstrous bloodsuckers which can help feed your horror cravings. Both focus on the concept of vampires killing other vampires, D being a half-blood mercenary and Alucard being the vampire assassin of an anti-vampire organisation. They both offer a thrilling story as well as intriguing vampiric ant-heroes.

Though following different settings (Captain Harlock being set in a futuristic setting in space and Saiyuuki being set in a semi-fantasy setting) the feeling of adventure in both is undeniable. You grow an attachment to the protagonists almost immediately and can't help but support them even if their situations seem ridiculous. The antagonists are, in their own way, sympathetic. Both series' also have a habit of recreating themselves in sequels and so it feels like watching a different series with the same characters which can allow you to fall for the characters again in a whole new setting.
