Imagine having a show with a concept that could be interesting with a entire lore and some great character desings to watch, but you screw it all up with the same stereotypes of an action romance anime with loli shit and plot holes to make this concept a complete joke and when you finally try to fix everything for the fifth part, you screw up again and finish it like hell.
Date A Live is a perfect example with everything wrong with modern writing and how not to make a story in fact. And this season shows how it took a long time for its creators
...
to become interested in this show so that in the end they returned to the same thing.
1. The plot and the development in this series has always been a joke, but in this season, the plot here is very rushed and loose at the same time similar to season 4, the main characters are more annoying and stupid like the last two seasons, Even the villains are not saved but at least they are more bearable and interesting to watch.
2. The battles are quite boring and forced that it seems like they are talking rather than fighting as if it were a bad parody of some shonen anime, the worst battle is when the protagonist and the villain see each other and confront each other, throwing their power, but as the protagonist is useless and air-headed, they end up giving him a kamehameha out of nowhere, like seriously, what kind of ridiculous power up is this?. And the animation and CGI looks like it was only made for the PS Vita or the 3DS.
3. The plot twists are the worst part of this series, with pure cheap excuses out of nowhere to expand the lore, but this season they excelled and gave one of the worst plot twists in history, that resuts that the protagonist is the reincarnation of another guy who looked like and the worst part is that the girl who started it all was the one who fell in love with him and made him born again giving him that rubbish about using the powers of the spirits. I mean WHAT IN THE HELL IS THAT ?
4. And the worst part of this entire season in the final, where the main characters and the villains face each other for get the girl from the origin in a tense battle that doesn't last more than 2 minutes where in the end both sides are sad for the loss of those who died in the battle, the rhythm of the scenes is suddenly broken to go to a generic timeskip and the end credits with a awful powerpoint presentation. And yeah, this ending is even worse than the visual novel ending and the Attack on Titan & the My Hero Academia endings.
I mean the Date a Live visual novel is bad too but at least they gave some characters more time and history and explained what happened to them afterwards, something that never happens here.
It's incredible how a series like this has gone from bad to worse over time and that's not surprising to see in this industry, And yes, this season was one of the worst i've ever seen so don't waste your time on this
