I guess my review is a little bias since I am utterly obsessed with this otome game when it was released. YES this anime was based on an otome game where you play the main heroine and you get to choose a guy's route, win his heart and live happily ever after with him.
With that said, this show is definitely not for everyone and if you have not played the game I doubt you will understand this anime nor even continue to watch it because it'll just get confusing as each episode progresses. Also, I believe this anime was adopted mainly as a game franchise
...
to satisfy its overwhelming fans.
Alright so MC character is supposed to be you. They didn't gave her a name in the show because in the game the person playing it names the MC as herself. I noticed some reviews were complaining about this, and although it is a little frustrating this is just how most otome games are. Deal with it.
The Plot is a helluva topsy turvy wtf moments but again, if you play the game, it all makes sense. I respect that they followed almost every single thing that happened in the game in each guy's route. In the game the MC is definitely bland and doesn't talk much, it's because Orion does most of the thinking for her, and her dialogue are mostly choices you pick on how to respond to the guy youre playing. It is definitely interesting how they put together all the scenes that are exactly on each of the game's route so I do commend the animators for that.
Music was great, the intro and the bg music are fantastic, even Ukyo's theme got me mesmerized. All the characters are on point and I'm glad they used the same voice actors as the ones they have in the game.
My only gripe is that they did almost two episodes for each of the guys except Kent, which only has one! where is justice on that?! and they sort of cut Orion in most of the scenes. It could have been better if he's with the MC most of the time to avoid the annoying blandness on MC's reaction each time she goes to another parallel world and restarts her amnesia.
OKAY SO OVERALL, I definitely enjoyed this show only because I played the game and enjoyed the game to heart. BUT IF YOU ARE NOT AN AMNESIA GAME OTOME FAN, this is probably not for you or you would probably hate this so much your eyebrows will unify to one. It's confusing af so for better viewing I recommend playing the game first before indulging on the show. ^^

I gave this one a solid 7 because it's not as astounding as other reverse harems are plot/story wise but at the same time it's not bad either. The twelve episodes are adequately all you need to feed that satisfactory meter, it didn't ended on a cliffhanger and the story was well executed. The characters are well developed and the MC is not annoying.
It is a very light hearted anime with a unique & cute plot. It was surprisingly enjoyable especially for reverse harem fans. I personally think the art was gorgeous. The men ofc are beautiful which got me to stick to the last
...
episode. lol Each chapters contain a good amount of comedy and light drama, enough to get you out of boredom.
Overall, its one of those shows that's forgettable but definitely one you can turn to if you are looking for a less tensed plot with childlike romance theme. It's a feel good reverse harem suited for all.

The only thing I *kind of* liked about this anime is the opening theme song and possibly some of the voice actors (i dont blame the seiyus for their awful lines). That's it. The rest are all poorly, if not dreadfully executed.
I stick with the series because of the Sengoku theme but there have been a few times that I wanted to just drop this show altogether as it was ultimately lazy and boring so to speak.
As usual it starts with the reverse harem theme: Ordinary girl gets transported to another world where its mostly dominated by guys and they all swoon over her for
...
no reason. As a reverse harem fan like me, I don't mind if the heroine is a little useless, annoying as they seem, I usually give them the benefit of the doubt and wait till they reveal their redeeming qualities that makes them a little bit likable.
Yuzuki (MC) on the other hand is way too useless, even her lines are so lazy and it just made the show so bland its aggravating. There was no utter motive why everyone likes her. She says one useless thing then bam! instant like from a warlord! lol
The plot started with everyone fighting for unification then a girl comes along with her special blood but no one even dares to drink it just because... (I've heard in the game they actually do). Out of the blue some evil spirits (yakuma) enters the scene because they are after her blood too and it wasnt explained why. So in the end everyone decided to set their differences and fight together for her sake. No plot twists whatsoever. It feels like its just a show for the sake of hyper commercialism on the game.. Like "you wanted more? Play the game!" sort of thing.
So no, I do not recommend this anime. I do not like how Toyotomi Hideyoshi looks in this show either... what's up with the get up?!
Over all I rated this a 3. Tbh It's not even a good show to pass the time. Rather it puts you to sleep.

I never expected to rate this anime this high. This is by far the cutest shojou reverse harem comedy romance that has recently charmed me. To cut to the chase, if you're into romance with a hilarious sense of humor you NEED to watch this show. Actually, I think everyone who's into reverse harems should watch this series. This one's a gem!
What I like about this show is that every episode makes your heart flutter (no kidding). The show is really lighthearted, the amount of teasing just equals out to the amount of butterfly in your tummy moments. The humor is also on point hilarious
...
af each episode. There are times that you couldn't stop laughing most esp when this character Kurama enters the scene with his bg nightcore music playing. I choke on my food everytime I hear it. Too funny to handle. Plot is a little unique in its own way, its not too heavy on the drama which is good.
Another thing I really liked about this show was the main heroine, Nanami. She is just divine. You can see great character developments on her part. She's really feisty and definitely not the annoying reverse harem useless Mary Sue kind. In fact majority of her scenes shows her failures and flaws. Kinda gives you a reality check that not everyone's perfect. But ordinary as she may seem, her determination to do better (despite failing over and over) and her self acceptance of being weak is what makes her different from other heroines. She's not needy either. Plus points since her seiyu is Mimori Suzuko - best girl! <3
The opening and ending theme had the perfect upbeat cute tune for the anime. The character themed music are on point too. As I mentioned, Kurama's nightcore is too perfect for words. lmao
I guess my only dissapointment lies on the fact that the series skipped a lot of important stuff on the manga but I guess that's fine since the show can stand on its own without making any kind of references on the manga its based from. Also, season 2 ended too soon and a lot of fans were disappointed that the animators decided to stop the series altogether. So they introduced new characters and mercilessly ended the season with a cliffhanger. SOB WHY THEY DO THIS TO US ALL THE TIME?!

So I did enjoyed the second season more than the first. There are more plot developments this time but I could still feel the same vibe of it having the same dullness as the first season. I was hoping that the heroine would improve but all she got was a sword and a one day training with a pirate chic who can fight. Like seriously, how can one learn how to fight by just that?
Other side characters were explained more profoundly in this season so I'd give it plus points for that. I love the end song, it's perfect, im adding it to my
...
playlist lol but all in all its pretty much a continuation of the first season and there aren't any huge developments with some of the characters. Episodes are still predictable which is a let down.

Okay, so I very much loved this otome game to heart. So when I heard they're making an anime adaptation on IkeSen, I got really excited, then I found out it'll be more like a parody version with chibi characters... Uh okay? I won't deny I was a little disappointed but hell I watched it anyway and oh my, I never thought I'd enjoy it so much.
It's 3-4 mins per episode. If you've played the otome game you'd be laughing your ass out off your seat. Each episode is hilarious. The character voices are somewhat the same as the character voices of the game
...
so it's really funny seeing these chibi animes with their sexy manly voice doing a bunch crazy unexpected things. All the 12 episodes are filler episodes too so don't expect it to follow any kind of route in the game or any kind of plot related story from the game.
I highly recommend this to anyone who has played the game to watch this show, I can assure you, you will enjoy it and know that you're not wasting your time by doing so.

I gotta be honest, the only reason I watched this as well as its second season was because I love this anime's art style. The characters were drawn perfectly, & they're all beautiful. They are exactly as beautiful as the one in the otome game which I've also played. Other than that, there was nothing really special about this series.
The plot was so simple and demotivated, like there's no drive in each of the characters other than do what the story indicates them to do, there's no character development and even each character's back story were so bland and predictable.
The main heroine is the most
...
aggravating part. She is the most Mary Sue of all Mary Sues. The typical useless heroine who can't fight but has special powers that's why she's so important and all the guys just like her because that's how the plot is written. There is absolutely no other reason than that which is such a let down. I like my reverse harems to have some type of conflict in romance or at least some character disposition that builds up in the middle of the story among the main casts but this one really does not have anything at all.
There is no plot twist and if there is, I wouldn't even consider it one because of how obvious it is. The series goes on with one predictable episode after another it gets boring.. and it's a shame since the anime was drawn beautifully, I really don't have any complaints with the art at all.

Well, the first few episodes are boring af and a little too forceful with regards to plot motivation. But after the 10th episode, the plot got interesting. A few side character's back stories were compelling enough for you to stick around with the series (e.g. the story of King Mahaty of Raginie) and it helped hone the story more which lead to some plot twists.
If you have the patience to sit a few boring episodes in the beginning, you'll find that the plot is actually quite good in the mid episodes where the events unfold from your typical reverse harem romance to a
...
more politically involved story line.
What annoyed me was the main character Kajika, she was a stuck up spoiled brat snowflake and acts like one which was really aggravating to watch. Although I understand why they portrayed her to be like that since she IS a spoiled daughter to one of the richest billionaires in the world so there was really no need for an explanation why she acts that way (shrug). Still, some of her actions were a little over the top reckless and dumb, like acting out without any form of thinking just for the heck of it. It was straight up selfish in a whole new level. Other than that, other characters / side characters were okay. My fav character was prob Li Ren, since he was the only main character that can fight.
Music was meh, the opening sounded like the opening for Winx. Eugene's theme was nice though!
Overall, It's a great reverse harem anime, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be at first. I did enjoyed the story to the finish but I couldn't say I'll watch it again.

The manga was 84 chapters, so for the anime to have only 24, it felt really cramped up, especially towards the ending. I felt like it needed more episodes to expound on the plot. Hence my rating. Other than that, I love everything about Ceres!
This anime was a classic! It's not your normal reverse harem shoujo type themes! It has a darker tone, definitely not for kids below 15. The plot was original and impressive.
The characters were all great. I liked that Yuu Watase always make it a point to create her side characters really likable. All the more so, for the main ones.
ART
...
was astonishing, a little old-ish but (personally) it's how I like my anime anyway so it doesn't bother me at all. Music was a phenomenal as expected for a shoujo theme - Scarlet was so emotional, really fits the story.
I must warn you, this is one' bittersweet series.. so don't expect a happy ending, but do watch this anime..it's really good! Another Yuu Watase masterpiece!

I can understand why so many people gave low ratings to this anime while some gave higher ones. It mainly depends on your preferences as well as your gender. This is a shoujo type anime. If you're not into shoujo - fantasy romance, then don't watch this, or you'll only get annoyed.
Okay, so personally, I am a shoujo fan and I absolutely love reverse harem type series. So I definitely enjoyed reading the original FY mangas and when they've announced it was going to have an anime adaptation I literally flipped. I was so excited!
The series started with Miaka, the MC getting sucked in a
...
magical book and became the main heroine who needs to find the 7 celestial warriors of Suzaku (all handsome men) in order for her to save the world. I know, i know! this sounds really cliche as there are thousands of other animes right now which all have a similar theme. But as a series that was published/ aired during the early 90's - I could say it was somehow Fushigi Yuugi that started it all.. this anime (for me anyway) was definitely fresh.
It's every girls dream - the absolute fantasy for normal highschool girls to escape the highs school cramming life and live in another world surrounded by hot men who' are all dying to be with you. I mean, come on! Let's be honest here, ladies!
Alright, so although the MC and her love interest Tama can get a little annoying sometimes with their lovie-dovie scenes, the story was actually quite good. the fight scenes were entertaining, and the setting was beautiful. What made me stick watching this anime though were not the main characters but the side characters... they are all extremely likable (even the villains), and they are the type of side characters that mattter in the story line.
The art was breathtaking as expected, it is created by Yuu Watase after all. Her works are definitely my fav since I was 15 and now that I'm on my late 20's her works are still number one in my book. As a shoujo mangaka, her characters are too perfect you can't help but fall inlove with them. The music in the anime were pretty good for its time too. Wakatte-ita hazu was my personal favorite, younger kids nowadays might not appreciate these types of tracks now but back in the day this was nearly the epitome of shoujo themes.
If it's your first time watching this show, I would suggest watching the original japanese voice dubs, the english ones are a bit annoying. I do admit, I started watching the english dub myself and then watched another round with the japanese ones & trust me, it definitely made a huge difference. There are just some dialogues that sounds really CHEESY in the english dub but not in japanese. Also, the humor in this series is a lot funnier in japanese and just a major EUGH in english.. it annoyed the hell out of me.
Overall experience, I loved it! It's the best shoujo anime I have watched all my life. Even now that I'm older, re watching it again still gets me all pumped up and excited each episode. I've always been a fan Yuu Watase's works, her Universe of the Four Gods fantasy lore though takes the cake as one of the best reverse harem fantasy shoujo stories ever. Now if we can only get an anime adaptation of her Genbu Kaiden then my life would be complete! ^_^
