I went out on a limb in watching Toradora, as it isn't produced by really any company that I've familiar with and I assumed it would just be another light hearted school-set anime that'll lift my spirits, but I was wrong. Toradora is a heartwrenchingly adorable show that I'll carry throughout the rest of my life.
**Beware: Estrogen filled review**
In the first few episodes of Toradora, I was completely and utterly in love with every. single. character. I couldn't get enough of it. The characters' personalities were depicted so well through the dialogue and I felt as if I was really, personally getting to know each
...
one individually. So character development: 10
The DVD covers, posters, or any type of official media depicting Toradora truly doesn't do the art justice. The art was what kept me watching in the days where I felt like Toradora just might not be one of my favorite animes and change my life forever.
Now for the story. The story was amazing. It wasn't some revolutionary idea or theme, a great life lesson, or even something comical that you could carry you throughout your life, but a story of the endurance of love through every day obstacles like a valiant flag waving in the air. As most women are, I'm extremely sappy and full of tears, but I think I spilled most of my eye-waterfalls during this show. It's hard to talk about it without spoiling the plot, but let's just say that every time I hear "Orange"playing, I instantly start crying. The story beautifully demonstrated the ups and downs of not only romance, but life in general as it starts out very light and comic but gradually leans towards a heavy-hearted, 'have a tissuebox in your lap at all times' type of anime.
Toradora is a light hearted, moe-ish anime with a heavy hearted theme in its depiction of a persistent, earnest love, unwavering in times of grief and will leave every viewer with a stamp on their heart of the Palm Top Tiger and her Dragon.

At first glace, Arakawa Under the Bridge just looks like your averagely bizarre anime with a sketchy plotline and averagely bizarre characters. However, it's proved to be much more than that to me. Arakawa presents an environment packed full of character development and relationships that simply draw the viewer in.
Arakawa has a large amount of characters, and the story, for me, revolves around how all the characters branch out and form relationships with eachother, but the truly unique aspect of Arakawa to me is the way the that relationships... grow.
In the first few episodes, I thought that the romance between ric and nino was
...
just a forced, cold, and unloving one, which I also believed would eventually lead to the show's demise. However, their relationship quickly strengthens and as the story progresses, you start to feel the love and romance between the two. Along with ric and nino, Arakawa develops relationships between all of the characters - in a very dynamic way.
While watching Arakawa Under The Bridge, the viewer is drawn into the hearts of each character and faces the obstacles presented to the cast while they make their residence under a great bridge that they like to call home.

The first time I heard about Black Rock Shooter, it was basically from all the hype in literally every single social media site I visited. The catchy theme song with the opening lines "Brack Lock Shootah~" stuck in my head and it was on the top of my "planning to watch" list for the longest time. However, this anime was very disappointing.
I'm going to keep it pretty short since this my first review and I don't actually know what I'm doing, but there were several key aspects I feel the anime was missing.
Many people commented on the fact that it had no storyline, and I'll
...
let them slide there because honestly, many school setting animes lack a storyline or much of it and are still extremely enjoyable and successful. But Black Rock Shooter's storyline was so difficult for me to understand that I had to have at least 4 tabs of the 'black rock shooter wikia' page open while watching the show, almost like having a cheat sheet for a big test.
Along with that, the anime lacked a basic... Cause and Effect property, if you will. Many characters would have mental break downs and then recover and resume normal behavior 30 seconds later, that doesn't quite make sense. And as stated by previous reviewers, there was a complete lack of any type of Laws involving Physics, which leaves viewers confused as to the abilities of some characters.
Overall, I find that Black Rock Shooter was a poorly written anime with excellent art and animation, that it was hard to follow, and that there are still some aspects of the anime that I don't and will never understand.
