Huh, for once I actually make a recommendation that hasn't been made by 10 other people. This surprises me, especially in this case because these shows struck me as VERY similar in many ways, if not in setting. Both have the feel of a sit-com, with very little overall arc. Really, not counting beginning and end, you could watch both of these anime in scrambled order and they might still work. Both also have characters that EXCEL in... well... being characters! The main casts of both shows more or less abandon tropes, preferring to parodize them instead. Not to mention, both shows are just REALLY FRIGGIN FUNNY.

Okay, this is dead obvious. I mean, it's like the Hero and the Demon King just swapped bodies! Maou looks a lot like the Hero from Maoyuu and Emi looks a lot like the Demon King. And Ente Isla just has the same vibes as the world Maoyuu is set in. It has the same political turmoil and everything. Overall, besides a lot of very obvious similarities, these two shows just FEEL alike.

Well, if you know what both of these shows are about, it's pretty obvious what these shows have in common. I'm far from the first person to make this recommendation. But, while the shows are very different in tone, and liking one is not a very good guarantee you will like the other, the simple plot point that these shows share is enough to justify this recommendation. In both shows some people have superpowers. Charlotte is not a superhero anime, but the characters do have superpowers. Beware though, Charlotte is a bit darker than Hero Aca. Wait... no that show can be very dark sometimes. So actually they're similar even in that regard.

They are both about blue haired guys that can cook and have always crushed on certain girls but then they encounter tsunderes which they forge an alliance with. Both also have girls that have a thing for the main character, but you aren't really led to believe have a chance with him, and so are kind of just there to mix things up a bit. They also are similar in the fact that the main characters and tsunderes are shipped right from the start, but there isn't really any tension there, but then things change somewhat eventually.
