Ao no Orchestra
|
Both stories are focusing on personal growth of the characters and feature famous pieces of classical music, as well as conveying the enjoyment of playing classical instruments. In Nodame Cantabile it is piano at its center while Ao no Orchestra gives us the sound of violin. Ao no Orchestra portrays high school students working together to perform in an orchestra at the same times as being rivals. Nodame Cantabile instead has a slow developing love relationship between the university students at its center. Ah and they both as well as side characters also seem to work towards their personal goals and learn how to tolerate other people better:)

Ginga Eiyuu Densetsu: Die Neue These - Kaikou

Both series are sci-fi and make a superb watch. While Galactic Heroes has more of Star Wars vibe, Planetes has more realism (set in a not so far off future and there are no space fights). Plenty of drama in both series though.

Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen

The plots of both anime series are quite similar. Two high school students compete to be top in their class, while learning more about each other and slowly growing into falling in love. Both series also feature prideful and stubborn main characters, who are admired by the rest of the student body. They can be charmingly dorky in certain situations, though. While His and Her Circumstances is an older uncompleted animated series, the manga will is worth a try.

Gakuen Handsome

Both short series feature similar type of humor and simple ans short visual gags. While Sakigake! is all about boys delinquents, Gakuen Handsome jokes about a different aspect of being in a all-boys high school. Art style of both anime also sets a scene that resembles one another.

Koutetsujou no Kabaneri
|
Both series have very intense fighting scenes, murdering monsters and main characters with a hysterical (superhuman) strength. Apart from that, there is a lot of drama, betrayal, action and existential questioning. Claymore has only girls fighters in a medieval fantasy setting. While Kabaneri (turned monsters) are usually women (in the plot at least), the main character is a man and their universe is steam-punk feudal Japan like. However, the most familiarity of both of these epic series is in their vibe / atmosphere, which I found very similar. If you watched one of these anime, please check the other and I hope you won't be disappointed!

The character with supernatural God-like powers? check. High school comedy? check. Unusual or simply strange set of friends? check. Action? check, kinda. While Saiki is the level-headed protagonist, Haruhi is not, but the story-telling is similar (due to Kyon). Well if you enjoyed one, you would definitely like the other

Challengers
|
Both Love Mode and Challengers are BL classics. They were created, when authors were still exploring the basics of the yaoi genre, thus you can find a lot of 'cliches'(Though they created those cliches in first place). Both have a standard set: slightly slow, but cute and forgiving uke and passionately in love, persistent, but guilt-ridden seme. Love Mode showcases an incredible collection of deep characters' backgrounds and drama with comedy elements, while Challengers ventures in a more innocent, romantic comedy type.

All stories are oneshots by Kunieda Saika. While they are realistic, many of them have the same sad feeling. The art style is typical for Sensei, with backgrounds amazingly drawn.
