Did you like the first season and how they introduced each cast member and how each band's dynamics have been? Well, you won't find it here.
In what was similar to how other "idol anime" have done it, the first episodes goes around each of the different cast members to showcase their personalities and chemistry between each other. Except not really. In the first 5 episodes, I am looking at a very generic group of throwaway characters that I have very little to care about.
When it seemed like Lyrical Lily were taking over as the protagonists of the series, I did get excited because I believed
...
that Happy Around's story was properly ended, and we are going to take a look at a new unit as the focal point. In 5 episodes, they only took centre stage in a single episode. In the same time frame, fellow "new" units that weren't in the first season, RONDO and Merm4id, also got their introductions, neither of which focused on the chemistry of the band anyway.
From a studio that already showed they can make a successful anime with a large cast of characters (BanG Dream), D4DJ All Mix has been disappointing. The animation is still as fantastic as it always has been, if not even better, but in 5 episodes, they have showed me nothing that can make this series stand out in a plethora of other idol anime.

Is this a parody? A slapstick? A cute girls doing cute girls anime? A combination of them all? Who really knows.
Watching though Teppen got me really frustrated because you could tell the seiyuus had a hell of a time doing their lines, but all in all, it feels like a low budget attempt at try to get a rare chuckle out of the viewer. However, by the end, I remember almost none of the characters' names, only their character tropes, and even their tropes are about generic as you can get.
What is worst is that they tried to shoo in a sports anime esque
...
plot towards the end, which threw off the theme of an anime that did not need plot, bringing some seriousness into an anime with already incredibly bland characters. Adding in a final episode which has no real importance to the rest of the plot, you get a lackluster attempt at a comedy anime. Don't waste your time here, watch a funnier series.

Tokyo 7th Sisters was originally launched as a game in Feburary 2014. To take things into perspective,
1. Love Live Sunshine had not yet existed
2. Idolmaster SideM and Million Live were still new
3. Aikatsu was still in its original iteration
4. The original Pripara was launching later that year
5. Wake Up Girls was just been released,
6. The likes of Ensemble Stars and Idolish7 will be coming out in the following year
7. Bang Dream has yet to even be thought of as a concept
What possessed the producers to make an aged game into movie in this day and age, when we have
...
had a new idol anime every season, is beyond me. What would have been decently interesting 6-7 years ago as an anime series has now found itself in a pool of saturation. Because of the market saturation, none of the characters that are on the big screen have shown any form of characteristics, with me just reminded of similar characters I have seen dozens of times from other idol series.
Furthermore, the generic idol songs of the mid 2010s do not shine in today's environment, when many of the other series have much better soundtracks.
The cherry on top is how old school the animation looks. Many idol anime predecessors have shown how amazing concert scenes can be. In the movie, it almost looks like this movie was made in, well, the mid 2010s, when this anime would have been considered decent.
End of the day, this is certainly not a bad movie in any sense of the word, but too little has been done to make it stand out in today's saturated market, and it is saddening such a big name cannot delivery a better movie to its fans.

I'm writing this review as a diehard fan of the Bandori franchise, watching all of the anime, buy merchandise and watching most of the lives. Especially so, Roselia is my favourite band in the series, both the 2D and 3D versions, so I was looking forward to anything that will have given my favourite band their time in the spotlight.
Which brings us to this movie. The plot of EoR1 essentially stretches over a large number of segments and events in the game, which appear as visual novel-esque skits. Similarly to other VN-turned anime, that is where the gist of the problem lies.
Having only less
...
than an hour and a half of air time essentially impacts how much plot and character development can be squeezed into the movie. Without going into too much plot, this is very obvious in the fact that the first 30 mins of the movie focuses on a portion very early in Roselia's formation plot, but has a sudden jump cut to a time much later in the future in which character development has already taken place for some characters, but it is not obvious how it happened for people that weren't already fans of the game.
The art of the series is fantastic, one of the best implementation of CGI I have ever seen in anime, and Bandori is renown for its fantastic music. Both the OP and ED are bone chilling, and I can very easily play both songs on repeat. However, neither art nor music can save the mediocrity of the movie.
Now, Bushiroad, the brains behind the Bandori franchise, are known for doing many things for the purpose of cash grabbing. They are a trading card making company that makes a large number of gacha games, so it is understandable that this is their business model. Sadly, as much as I hate to admit it, this movie was one of them. Their marketing for both movies have been tremendous... to a point that they forgot to actually put quality into the movie.
As of this review, I have yet to watch its "sequel" EoR2, but judging from what I have seen from this movie, I don't have much faith that it will be any better.
Had they actually put in effort to make an actually good movie, maybe giving this another hour of airtime to properly animate the cut out segments that would have helped character development, and not try to put back to back movies just for the sake of sales, we may actually have had a good movie, because the plot in the game behind some of the characters (Sayo in particular) is fantastic. But in its absence, we will have to live with the "what could have been".

It's sad how something that started out looking so promising became watching endless eight with slight variations to each episode.
What happens in every episode is as follows:
Takanashi likes something cute, like Taneshima, and goes into trance mode upon seeing it.
Inami resists punching guys, but punches Takanashi anyway.
Taneshima mispronounces Takanashi.
Kyouko sits there waiting for Yachiyo to serve her.
Yachiyo goes gaga over Kyouko, and complains to Satou, who has romantic feelings for Yachyo, and thus gets jealous.
Yachiyo draws her katana and threatens to cut anything that gets in the way of her and Kyouko.
...
Souma gets dirt on everyone and blackmails them to do his work.
There are other factors that might be added in, like the addition of Takanashi's family, the long lost manager of the restaurant that went out looking for his wife, and, more recently, the addition of a runaway who tries to get her perfect family.
Now, I am a great fan of episodic anime. Just take a look at my favourite list (Aria, Hidamari Sketch, Lucky Star). The major problem is that, without a plot, what needs to be done is to create likable characters and situations that one can really enjoy. I initially liked what they did with Inami, that her man-phobia is affecting the entire restaurant, but there comes a time when a situation gets overused. Yachiyo started as my 2nd favourite character, behind Inami, but, as above, she does nothing different every episode. No one likes to see an overused plot element. It's boring, repetitive, and it makes even 24 minutes weekly a drag to watch.
That said, which other characters are actually likable? Taneshima was supposed to be the lead female, but, obviously, she has been pushed aside by Inami. So, what does Taneshima actually add to the story? She is the most boring lead I have ever seen. Usually with leads, you either like them or hate them. Taneshima does next to nothing each episode, so people can't actually decide if they like her or not. Same goes to the non-main males in the series. For example, the only thing we know about Souma is his blackmailing intent. How interesting does that make a person? We only know ONE thing about him. There is absolutely no character development.
Sound wise, I skip though the opening every week. I mean, seriously, that opening is even more annoying than K-ON!!'s (the 2nd season, btw). Nothing special in terms of voice acting, and art is pretty dull for a 2010 anime.
Granted, Working!! does have its entertaining moments, but unless you really have nothing better to do, or watch it in fast forward like I do, my advice is not to watch it. There are plenty of better episodic comedy/slice of life anime out there. Repetitive attempts at humour really makes this a poor anime.

It's been ages since I gave my last 10 pointer.
After the roller coaster ride of the poor second season, where we went though one important episode, then went through a really boring "Endless Eight" arc, and yet another poor "Sigh" arc, and the Haruhi-chan parody series, we had to wonder, what happened to the brilliance that took the anime world by storm? Well, fans of the series, time to rejoice. The Disappearance has practically erased all hatred I had for the series after 13 really bad episodes.
Story
On the 17th of December, Haruhi decided to have a Christmas party on the 24th, and gave the SOS
...
Brigade the typical run of events. Mikuru in her short skirt Santa outfit, Koizumi in his usual smug, overkill reactions to everything Haruhi says, and Yuki in her usual silence. All seems usual, until the dawn of the 19th, when Kyon, upon arriving at school, realises something amiss, like the seat in the desk behind him being empty, up until a face he hasn't seen in ages appears...
Art
Art looks really good. The effects of snow, the distraught face of Kyon, and the unbelievably cute Yuki. Typical KyoAni stuff. Thumbs up.
Sound
As much as Bouken Desho Desho was reminiscing, I'd much prefer a new soundtrack for the movie.
Character
Despite the namesake, the movie actually developed Yuki's character more than Haruhi, which I find to be very impressive, since Yuki had always been the seen as a boring alien, it was nice to see that she had a human side to her as well.
Kyon also has had a significant development, though I will refrain from saying how, as that is integral to the story.
Enjoyment
Believe me, as the movie started, I was really skeptical about what I was about to experience, especially the disaster that was the 2nd season. But I can't believe I enjoyed it as much as I did.
Overall
Much of the storyline was directly linked to the 2nd season, sadly, so fans that were smart enough to avoid the 2nd season won't be able to understand much of the plotline.
For me, I lost all my fanboyism after the 2nd season. Even after giving it a chance after the Endless Eight arc, the Sigh was really worth sighing about. However, the Disappearance made me regain my faith in the series, though personally, I'd hate to be put through that emotional ride again, so I hope that this movie officially ends the leeching of money KyoAni is getting from this series.
End the series, please, with it at its highest point.

Lemme start by saying a few things. To date, I have only given the score 1 to a "parody" of an anime, and the score 10 to only 5 anime. In other words, I am strict in my grading, but I do not bash even some of the worst anime I have seen. The fact is this got a 1 means it IS that bad.
Story
I usually start my reviews by going though a brief background story. Sadly, I can't give a really good one because I haven't a damn clue what is going on. It starts out with an airship from Mars burning to crisps
...
just before entering the atmosphere. Then, without any link, we suddenly see a gunfight between 3 girls and 3 alien-like lifeforms called Ancients, with one girl suddenly getting her head blown off. Joining the fight is Takeru, who wears a Masked Rider/Power Ranger like get up armed with special abilities to save the other 2 girls. This randomly leads to a brief history about how he was forced to don the suit by his father. Then, the group is given a mission to protect the burned up airship while they ship it to the USA, which was supposed to be burned to a crisp, so I haven't a clue how they found parts to ship back. They then get attacked by more powerful ancients, which ultimately lead to Takeru using a more powerful weapon to kill of the leader. Then guess what, in the final scene, we find out that humans are actually invaders from Mars, and that the Ancients are the real Earthlings OMG SHOCK. Wait, how the hell did the story lead to that? The linked between each part of hte story is next to nothing, and to have 4-5 scenes in 19 minutes, man, their plot has got to be shorter than this review.
Art
2005? I could have sworn it was made in the original Macross and Gundam era.
Sound
You remember how as kids we went to the toys store and played with those noisy "laser guns"? Well, the guns sounded just like that.
Character
There were like 8 characters, yet, most of them aren't even important enough to be given a name. Those that are only have their names mumbled as a passing remark.
Enjoyment
Frankly, I enjoyed seeing how bad this is.
The real reason I watched this was because I have NEVER seen an average score of less than 4 on MAL before. Heck, even random hentai has higher scores. So I thought, can there really be something that bad? Classic case of curiosity killed the cat.
I pity Chihara Minori for ever being part of this mess. Thank goodness your career went on track because of Nagato Yuki. Seriously.

Kobato is a girl of currently unknown origins whose job is to "heal" the hearts of the world around her. Every time she heals a heart, a candy-like gem called Confetto will appear in a glass bottle in which she carries around. When this glass bottle finally fills up, she will get her wish granted. Thus, the story of Kobato follows her attempts to find people to heal.
Story
Oh boy... Where do I even begin. The whole storyline has been put out so slowly I've lost interest. Even as a major fan of slice of life and non-related episodic anime (in which my favourites include Hidamari
...
Sketch and Aria, as well as being a fan of Sketchbook and GA), this doesn't draw me in in any way possible.
EDIT: 6 episodes after I originally wrote this, I'd say it jsut got worse. they made a highly pointless time skip, in which we end upa few months later, with NO advancement to the storyline, and she just goes on continuing to collect Confetto.
Art
For some plus points, I've always been a fan of the animation Madhouse does, and this is no exception.
Music
Music is decent, except when Kobato sings. It's too darn fake-sounding.
Character
Boy oh boy number 2...
The anime appears to have 3 main characters. Starting with Fujimoto, the guy appears to be an absolute jerk, but "becomes nicer" after meeting up with Kobato. Appears to have some issues that he helps Kobato find an owner for a stray cat after telling his college classmates he doesn't want to help them isn't very convincing. Secondly, Kobato's character is highly annoying. Her naivety is beyond that of even a child, or maybe the word should be stupidity? Or bimbotic? Either way, this is the first time I did not like a Kana Hanazawa character. The third main in Ioryogi is possibly the most likeable of the trio. That said, the bossy, fire breathing stuff animal is no Mokona or Keroberos, and pretty much insults the great "stuff animals" that we have seen by CLAMP thus far.
Enjoyment
While fire breathing, klutzy antics can be enjoyable once in a while, seeing every episode REALLY gets old, and poor characters and a lack of the heart warming feeling from a slice of life anime really kills off the enjoyment.
Overall, this anime has gone is a very poor direction. If I was new to the slice of life genre, watching this will make me want to permanantly avoid it. I had such high hopes for Kobato. Poor CLAMP production, poor Madhouse production. Disappointing.

It's been a long while since I was active in the site.
Umineko is somewhat of an "sequel" to the fantastic Higurashi series, although with almost no link between the two except for possibly 2 characters (which I will neglect to name to prevent spoilers). In October 1986, a group of 18 people, including members of the Ushiromiya extended family and their servants, decided to hold a meeting in their island, Rokkenjima, with the purpose of discussing how the wealth of the family is to be distributed after the death of the current head, Kinzo. Unfortunately, after the arrival of the entire family, a storm traps
...
the 18 people, mysteriously preventing contact with the outside world. At this same point of time, members of the 18 slowly gets murdered one by one, usually in a bizzare manner, which was credited by Maria, the youngest member on the island, to be done by the endless witch Beatrice. However, her cousin, Battler, rejected any existance of witchcraft in the world, and thus, attempts to answer all the deaths via logic, an attempt which interests Beatrice herself...
Story
First of, I've never played the game, read the novel/manga or whatsoever. Thus, my only experience of the story is via the anime. Possibly based on that alone, I thought hte story was very well structured, with the exception of the 1st 2 episodes, which were absolute messes. However, I found it puzzling at a few aspects, including the fact that various supposed main characters, like Battler's stepmother Kyrie, to have so little screen time, and how some of the story plot just doesn't flow. Nevertheless, the story as a whole is above decent, and deserves praise.
Art
The characters, the background, the golden butterflies representing Beatrice all look decent, but the blood as been censored too much IMO, but it's decent enough.
Sound
Music is an absolute nightmare, and I do not think the opening and ending themes match the anime at all.
Characters
Now, for the long list of criticisms. As mentioned earlier, Kyrie was neglected any real screen time, which is a big nono, since she was supposed to be hte source of Battler's "turn over the table" motto. Characters were supposed to be interesting, but I found most of them to be annoying. Maria's just irritating, with her over-emo/creepy combo. George is a real... eyesore, Kinzo, supposedly a ruthless powerful man, was seen constantly crying, while Shannon and Kanon have been given inconsistent personalities as the story went on to the third arc. Battler, a supposedly intelligent person with a great logical view on the situation, has been seen just moaning about how he can't think of hte solution. The creators should really have looked to their efforts on Higurashi's characters while making this.
Enjoyment
THis is given a 7 only because the story keeps me on the edge enough to want to watch ti weekly, rather than to force myself to complete the series.
Asking a player of the game would get you a bad review on the story department as well, but if you're like me, and haven't played the game, the show is watchable, but beware of creepy lolis and a league of extraordinarily bad characters.

Essentially, Hidamari Sketch (as a whole) revolves around the lives of 4 art school students living at the Hidamari Apartments just across the school. The girls consist of 1st years Yuno, the shy, quiet girl who is often seen with her trademark X-shaped hairpins, and Miyako, the overly hyperactive and spontanious girl who appears to be an excellent artist despite her childish demenor, and 2nd years Hiro, who is an excellent cook, but can't stop worrying about her weight, and Sae, who excels in writing stories that even gets published in magazine, but has the tendancy to get nervous when asked about her "active" love
...
life. Though x365 is the second season, the anime is not in chronological order, and, in fact, the first episode of the season is first in chronological order of the whole series.
STORY
Let's all admit, there isn't really much of a story to speak of, and the constantly bouncing timeline doesn't help either. Each story is very episodal, and can be somewhat childish, but it is still very enjoyable to watch all the same.
ART
Despite many complains by many that wattch the anime, I actually like the art style in the anime. They are simple, yet carry the message very efficiently.
SOUND
I love the cheerful opening song to this anime. Various sound effects in the anime are placed efficiently too.
CHARACTER
Now, what's not to like about the characters? They are a very mixed batch of people, and yet, they live together, both enjoying and causing trouble for each other. Sae was a personal favourite of mine in the first season, but this season, the great parts went to Yuno and Miyako. Either way, the characters are very much lovable.
ENJOYMENT
I think the anime has the whole package. Calming, comical and entertaining
OVERALL
What's not to love about this anime? Great characters, simple yet effective artwork, good for a laugh, and calms a stressed out person (I can personally attest to that).
Possibly the best series to air during the summer season.
