At first, i was skeptical because this anime has the same run-of-the-mill plot where an MC is born into a magical world and he has 0 magic. i was very tired of seeing that same plot line but what this anime lacks in originality, it makes up for in animation and characters! i like the characters a lot, i like the MC a lot (they give a nice human aspect to him instead of a happy-go-lucky annoying mc) and the world building is decent. idk this anime is cliche but there's something about it that i can't keep my eyes off of. it misses the ... mark a little bit but it had really high potential to be one of the stars of the past few seasons

first review: hmm what to say about this anime. it's not great. it feels like a dollar store version of hunter x hunter. there's a lot of similarities but it just feels like a poor imitation. the main character, bam, is...lackluster? i understand he was like born and raised alone and in the dark or something but him being a dumb naive baby is kind of boring and cringy. i think his main shtick is that he's just really lucky and luck/unluck is a recurring theme in the show but it doesn't feel like it has a reason. which i guess it doesn't need to, ... but still. the most interesting thing about this anime is the characters relationships with one another. the knock-off killua and the alligator's banter is funny. idk the anime is just a little boring. it isn't great, it isn't bad. it just is? i feel like it desperately wanted to be something great but failed. it isn't all bad, though! i enjoyed the lesson behind the 3rd episode. also, just like killua and gon, khun and bam are also gay.

second review: also, i wrote that review before i finished the series and i have a few things to add: i still mainly feel the way above but i take it back about it being super boring. i like the psychological self-fulfilling prophecy that occurs between bam and rachel. it feels like gon x meruem where one gets more "human" and the other gets more "monster" it's still so very obvious the creator of this anime took heavy inspiration from hunter x hunter. this anime is decent tbh. it's not a shocker that a lot of people think it's a boring anime, i think that's because they're used to more flashy and obvious displays of psychology but this anime is kind of subtle and smooth about it though it does lack some substance, it's not that bad

i absolutely loved this anime, i'm so tired of seeing the same tired plot over and over and over again in anime and when i found this one, i was so happy because it's genuinely so good. there's a lot to be desired plot-wise, don't get me wrong, but it's still so good. the characters are likable, the plot is decent enough and i love the aesthetics. it could do with a little more world building but other than that, i thoroughly enjoyed it. it had an old-time anime feel to it like blood + mixed with the new age stuff.
