A fun little nonsensical story that plays up all of the character's biggest stereotypes/personality flaws. Chibi mecha Black Clover. Asta and Yuno try to solve the mystery of who's turning everyone into robots. Dunt dunt dunt...
It's funny, and entertaining. A quick and enjoyable watch. Silly characters doing silly things. I'm totally going to be calling him "Wizzy" from now on!
If you generally enjoy BC and are looking for content you may not have seen before, this will certainly satiate you for a bit.
And to make it even better, it's free to watch on Crunchyroll.
And omg that opening is fire. (All of BC's openings are fire,
...
but this one's visuals were distinct.)

***DROPPED***
The worst BnHA/MHA season to date. Could not finish.
Here's the deal: I've *never* liked Deku. The only times I've liked this show is when the "ensemble" of characters all played a large role. When the ensemble is the focus and not useless Deku (eg, the USJ arc, Sports Festival arc, Provisional License Exam arc, etc). This season is no different. Deku still sucks. It feels like he's hardly progressed at all in 4 seasons. Still incredibly weak and overly emotional (BORING).
The big arc this season is the Overhaul arc. And I thought some of the ensemble characters were pretty good/interesting (Mirio, Red Riot, Nighteye,
...
etc). There were a couple "omg" moments for me during the arc that shocked me and even made me a little emotional. There were even a few episodes where Deku didn't make an appearance; it was great! That said, there were too many "empty" episodes, where the plot didn't move along at all. It would be 2 mediocre episodes followed by a good one, then repeat.
As for Overhaul himself, I thought he was supposed to be a "different" villain. But he was the same as any other villain that's ever existed. "I'm a bad guy. I want to destroy the world. *unhinged, crazy maniacal laugh* blah blah blah." Just another cookie-cutter villain. #Disappoint
After the Overhaul arc, the UA School Festival arc starts. And it was so awful I couldn't stand to watch anymore. I "dropped" this season 2 or 3 episodes into this arc. It felt like filler. It essentially turned into a bizarro world "slice of life" anime. "Let's sing and dance and start a rock band!" This isn't High School Musical!
Oh wait, it gets better (ie, worse)! The UA School Festival arc introduces a new villain, Gentle Criminal. And he's equally awful and bizarro worldly. It. Was. So. Bad. I don't know how the arc ends. And I don't care how it ends!
I always thought BnHA/MHA was hugely overrated, but *just* good enough for me to continue watching. I can't justify it anymore though. It's not a good series, and quite frankly, I'm not going to miss it.

Here's the deal: This show is *MUCH* better than its rating. MUCH BETTER. However, that's not to say that the criticism it receives isn't also true.
I think the plot, animation and music are pretty great overall. The supernatural Nazis in modern-day Japan plot was interesting. And the metal rock music during much of the series is a fitting touch.
It is somewhat confusing, especially early on. But they do explain things further as the series continues.
I also think some of the dialogue/monologues are kind of cheesy and unnecessary. This is a plot-driven show; I have no time for your "feelings". So I fast forwarded through those
...
scenes.
Some of the MC's relationships and power-ups feel a little unearned. They often happen quickly without much training or explanation.
You will need to also watch the 6-part OVA (separate MAL listing) in order to complete this series. I think this show is worth watching if the genre is something you're typically interested in.

The show is solid. Not great but good.
However, Midoriya is awful. LOL. I do not like him. I can't see how I'll ever like him. A hero that can't fight. Just an awful MC. Are we supposed to feel sorry for him? Because I don't. I want to like him. I want him to become a Pro Hero. I want him to realize the full extent of his powers. But he still can't do diddly-squat with his powers and he's still a pathetic weakling.
At this point, I think the manga/anime will both end and Deku/Midoriya will still be working on mastering 8% of his power.
...
Lame. Yawn. Boring. Next.
Again, it's all of his classmates and teachers that are the interesting ones. The license exam was fun and seeing students from other schools was great as well.
More of that. Less Deku. PLEASE

Definitely better than season 1. The sports festival arc is really good and learning more about All Might's origin story is also interesting.
As for characters, again, I just don't like Midoriya. Don't think he's a good MC. There's just nothing about him that draws me in. And being so awful at using his own power just makes it even worse. Can't fight at all without TKO'ing himself every time.
Much prefer Mineta, Bokugo, Eraser Head, Todoroki, All Might, Froppy, Ochaco, and Momo.
I generally don't care about the "art" in anime unless it's just awful, and MHA's art is fine. The music is alright, but not memorable
...
enough to get stuck in my head and for me to hum days later.

Decent anime but I didn't find it to be that great. No desire to ever go back and watch it.
Simply put, I think Gon sucks. Just a very low IQ, annoyingly, pseudo altruistic character. Impossible to like because he's just feels so fake and is static/monotone as a person. If he wasn't hanging around Killua most the time, the show would be unwatchable.
With that said, let's discuss the arcs:
- Hunter Exam: Thought it was pretty boring
- Heavens Arena: Definitely interesting, learning how to actually use their skills
- Phantom Troupe/YorkNew City: Could've been good but kind of meh, thought Chrollo was neat
...
- Greed Island: Really good, best complete arc in the whole show
- Chimera Ant: So awful early on I nearly quit watching the show, it is literally that bad. The arc is crazy long and gradually improves to "watchable"
- Election: Really nothing special except for Killua's part, which doesn't actually have anything to do with the election haha

TL;DR:
When I watch other anime, this is the show I compare them to when deciding how much I "enjoy" them. Some have come close, but none have quite matched the pure "entertainment" I get from BC. For me it knocks it out of the park, hence my 10/10.
LONGER VERSION: **No spoilers**
It is my favorite anime of all time. I enjoy everything about this show. It's fun and entertaining.
**My review is largely based on the English dub. So Asta's voice was never an issue for me. I have, however, watched 20-30 episodes with the Japanese voice actor. I managed just fine, but can understand why some
...
aren't a fan the Japanese version. The good news is they do tone it down as the series progresses. More good news: You don't have to be a big Asta fan to like this show. I honestly like many of the other characters in the series more, Asta just happens to be the glue/thread that unites them all.**
Personally, I was hooked from the very first episode due to its ending scene (I had not read the manga). Up until that point I was wondering how some talentless little twerp was going to be the protagonist of this story. But those final few minutes showed me there were multiple paths this series could take and I started coming up with my own theories, and that excited me. (I was WAY off on a few; still waiting to find out about some others.)
Haters will tell you it's just a knockoff of this show or that show. But I'd strongly disagree. EVERY battle shonen I've ever watched has some misfit mc that wants to be the Pirate King or Wizard King or Hokage or Hunter or #1 Hero, etc. I mean, isn't that the whole point of the genre???
Regardless, there's just something about how the characters interact that's incredibly charming and emotionally rewarding. I think it's the best "ensemble" of characters I've ever seen in an anime. They work so well together; they make each other better. It's one of those "the whole being greater than the sum of the parts" dynamics. This is true whether we're talking about a funny scene, an emotional/sad scene, or when there's an adrenaline-fueled fight scene.
I enjoy the mythology/history and mystique of the show, too. Trying to find out if past "legends" and origin stories are accurate, and how they factor into the current timeline. Or if certain characters are good or bad, and what their motivations might be. Etc.
As for the fight scenes...they're EPIC. Best. Fights. In. Anime. Bar none.
It also has the BEST opening and ending music in all of anime. You cannot help but get excited when those intro songs start playing.
Simply put, this show entertains me like nothing I've ever seen. Truly. And that's what I want. I'm not here to critique every little detail. I see people who complain about certain scenes being animated poorly, but I see that in most other anime as well. This show cranks out ~51 episodes per year. That is an insane schedule, and impressive. I also see people complain about shounen "tropes", but I see that in every other anime as well. I mean really? LOL, the anime industry is *built* on "tropes".
The ONLY thing I care about is if I enjoy watching it. And I do. "I like it a LOT."
I would HIGHLY recommend everyone give it a chance, because you might just fall in love with it, too. :D
