I'll keep this short and simple since this was a short read anyway:


HS drama with a "two guys and one girl love arrow situation". EXCEPT THAT THEY ARE COUSINS FOR EFS SAKE (I know you can see that while reading the synopsis from MAL, however I started reading this blindly soo for me it was a surprise lol)

Literally no one questions about the fact that the trio (male & female twins + male COUSIN) which is the main focus of this story are cousins and act like its not a big deal (literally other students tease them about it etc). If you remove the ... cousin part of it, the story is pretty okay HS lovey dovey love story with some kisses and stuff. Its short read and won't waste your time too much.

I only kept reading bc the art style was cute and it was short. Some will like it and some don't. I personally would like it more without the cousin aspect but yeah, it's not that memorable read. If you have some extra time, sure, check it out.

How can four episodes make me so pissed off? Istg, thank god it was only four episodes so that I was able to binge watch them and be annoyed that I wasted my time to this "ending" thingy or whatever. I could give a lower score, however the music/some of the pretty art mainly keep the score a bit higher.

I was disappointed. I still am disappointed at this hot mess. I'm glad that its over so that I can go back with the OG timeline and believe that its the only plot line that exists. Do not turn mobile games into anime, if you ... cannot create a decent storyline.

Skip the whole magia record, watch something else.

Some thoughts while I was watching this bowl of soup called Magia record s2:
-Lots of handholding and pep talk
-People switching sides at the last minute
- Connections, the newest OP thing beside doppels!
-THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIPS!!!
- The animation budget clearly went to the fighting scenes and I'm happy about that!
-Way better OP and ED this time
-A cliffhanger...again...
- Sister still not showing up? OF COURSE NOT!

... and much more.

It started so good but from the ep 5 to 8 it just became a huge bowl of soup of a mess again. Like why. Just why. The beginning was so promising and then it went to blergh. Underwhelming for sure. 5 is a generous score but I'm only giving S2 that because I loved the first four episodes, I loved the action scenes + OP & ED were amazing. Without the OG gang this would have gotten 4, OGs helped a lil bit.

Skip this if you havent seen s1 of magia record. JUST WATCH THE OG PUELLA MAGI !!

Sigh....wtf I just watched?? As a fan of the original PMMM, for the longest time, I really did want to see more of Madoka Magica. I have had heard of the spin offs/the mobile game, but somehow I never got interested with those. I just wanted more stories with the OG girlies.

So now four years after this originally aired, I decided to watch it and wtf I really watched?? Like seriously, what on Earth this story wanted to be? There was way too much going on, way too many characters ... that I wasn't able to connect in any way, random plot lines that didn't give almost anything important to the "main" storyline and obviously the ending ended up in the cliffhanger. I bet that could have been annoying back then when it was airing since you had to wait for the second season (which I'm going to watch, I have way too many questions so I'm not dropping the series).

The whole organization plot line gave a cult vibe like you wanna do good but why it gives such an evil vibe? Those doppel thingies give overpowered OP vibes, some stuff in the story were so odd etc, I forget that most of the girls are in middle school, but they speak like ancient poets at times, some OG characters were brought back but Mami was lowkey now an antagonist?? My head is spinning and rightfully so, too much going on!!

I honestly would give this a lower score than 5, but the animation / music (mainly OSTs, OP and ED weren't that interesting) were top notch, so mainly for that I kept watching, because SHAFT knows how to create amazing animation and keep your eyes glued to the screen. This series could have had so much potential, but I feel like it got wasted bc there was too many things going on.

Honestly, if you have never seen original PMMM, just watch that. Don't waste your time to this if you aren't full on invested with PMMM universe. Its sad, but yeah, just watch the original series. At least that one has solid beginning, middle and ending, meanwhile this side story is like a bowl of soup with too many ingredients in it.

I hope season two will give me some answers....

I'll keep this short because I'm not that type of person, who likes to write long reviews (and English not being my native tongue) but here's some thoughts:

I personally love crafting and have tried little bit of pottery so beside the CGDCT / slice of life element, I decided to give this series a go. I'm glad that the episodes were only 14 minutes long so I was able to watch five episodes and that is enough for me.

Artstyle: Really nice and decent. Character designs were memorable and the beautiful pottery was definitely a highlight.
Characters: I personally got annoyed with both Mika and ... Naoko. Idk, I do sometimes like loud / weird characters but those two just were a bit too annoying for my liking. The main girl Himeno is just meh and the senpai Tooko was the only girl from the group that I liked. Idk, for me the main girls are the biggest reason why I decided to drop the series. Also wtf was the fifth episode, following their teacher in her free time like "detectives"?? Wasn't fan of that at all. Also the first episode at school, Himeno promoting her dads business and bringing so many cups with her like huh?? I just found that odd lol.

It is a short, not bad looking slice of life that you might wanna check out if you don't have any other series to watch or you are just so bored and have some time to spend so yeah, give it a go. I feel like it's a 50/50 type of show, you either like it or you don't. I can see some people liking it so I'll give this series mixed feeling recommendation, you can always drop it, if you don't like it.
