Lately, Murata starts to create stuff like a kid. And creating lots of inconsistencies while trying to act like "now I'm gonna make kaabooooM!" . How that planet will be safe by the end of the series idk. Murata hyped up The ONE's scalings too much. Webtoon is a much better series but lacks the art.
Also, I'm sick of re-draws. Murata literality invented manga-filler. Also, his drawings getting a bit sloppier still much better than the average monthly series but not as once he did.
It was supposed to be a superhero genre and battle shounen genre parody but it becomes the joke's itself. Garou's arc
...
is a lousy and cheesy battle shounen arc. and Garou is the protagonist.
So, Murata's version ain't have any charm or awe anymore for me. Borderline boredoom.

Wow, What a Journey? Ha?
I mean it's so sad to see this happening. They f.cked up a very human and very intriguing story. And sh.t mixed all theme behind it. Or it planned like that all the time but we're getting sh.t mixed by the creators. Anyway, it's a bummer!
Until Part 3 started it was a 10/10 series for me.
And Until the last 10-15 chapters it was a 9/10 series for me.
And Until that shitty final, it was still an 8/10 for me.
...
Bu now with the extra volume version of the finale. With confirmed leaked panels.
It's 4/10 for me after this b.llshit.
The biggest disappointment in a long run series (ever worse than One Piece when its comes to disappointment). It threw out everything that built over the years.

Well, Its Urasawa after all. It's still classy, engaging and enduring, and beautifully illustrated. Yet the story and plot not fit in each other and certainly Urasawa's work not fitting into only 65 chapters. That's why the last 2-3 volume work is rushed heavily and this rushing kinda makes first 30-35 chapter value act pointless. Most of the character roster turns out to be metaphysical tools to use (many origins of many Deus ex ).
So there ain't room enough to care about the plot, the characters, or the history that shaped this very world of Pluto.
Proper prioritization of the plot is the most lacking
...
part of this piece and its kinda ruins all piece imo.
Still, a good to go Sci-Fi / Detective Work story with some shallow investment on politics, racism, humanism, and so on but still so tattered and dragged off imo.

It all started quite promising and then gone terribly bad.
It started as a late 1800s early 1900s Japanese country-side story with a native girl and a war veteran. Both lost their loved ones and getting together what comes next.
Is perfectly realistic and good stakes at surviving.
But then the series turned out the be historical Japanese and less fantastic version of Garth Ennis's Preacher.
Gay man, that dresses an elephant costume that made out of the skin of dead men ? And swinging the trunk of the costume that covers his lower waist load (p-word) . WTF ?!
The anatomically impossible to live
...
the type of character and face designs. too many characters to follow. And only true motivation is money? Not good enough man.
I dropped at 70+ chapters but I looked into 240 to 250th chapters and I felt like I still reading the 55th chapter of the series.
No development, no progression, no expanding. Same skin hunting, bounty thralling stuff. It's boring. After Golden Kamui, I wrote 109 chapters of Vinland Saga in 2 days only, and I finally aware of "what a good historical war seinen suppose to be " And it wasn't even close to what Golden Kamui had ever offer.
I don't why it's so beloved. I also really loved the first 30 to 50 chapters but then that's it. it was a mediocre sick stuff to go through with it.

Well, I'm confused and full of mixed feelings.
There is a plot knife that cuts this series in half imo. I really don't think that the first half of the series really makes you ready for the other upcoming half of it. The plot is missing and full of holes in it. Ambitions, goals, and reasons are all flu and unrealistic to me.
The lack of clarity (both in terms of art and story) is the biggest problem. I really had a hard time with when Neo organization comes in and Gourmet Corp shaken by'em and they divided. I really read a couple of times.
...
Also, the reasonings of Midora, Jiro, and Ichiryu about what are they're doing over the course of the story were blank to me.
And the ending was terrible.
But still, it's a unique battle shounen with a lot of old characters , great high fantasy creations such as civilizations, plant life, architectural constructs, monsters, animals, and so on.
Also epicness, manliness, and emotional tidal waves that coming from very memorable, lovable characters made this journey a special one for me.
But again during the last 100-150 chapters, it was tiring, bitter, and meaningless. I was really pissed off but I read all 396 chapters in 9 days. So it must be good enough to make me binge read it.

I give it 6/10 but its more like 65/100.
Well im a current follower of the original source material. Tower of God webtoon.
Amazing wordbuilding, great and creative plot and sub plots. Interesting characters. Diversity and Versatility in terms of characters and motivations. And a unique art style and compositions.
Original source grants you all of these imo. Ofc it has its own downsides but still its a 8-9/10 series. Then why its anime adaptaion only a 6/10 series ?
Cuz its a dishonest, pretty bad adaptation that aint accurate about the story & universe that its represents.
It contains some spoilers from the webtoon
...
from here. Not huge ones but still...
Everything about Baam is super flashy and over exeggerated. Which is kill the all mystery around him. Anime creators turned this story to a cliche shounen like series. Like A.A Khun aint a cunny, cold blooded, calculated, sweet mask wearing tactical genius. But in the anime his feelings all over his face and he even shows anger & hatred and even jealousy towards Rachel. The OG Khun were burrying down all of these feelings to be close to Rachel for getting the truth about Baam and revenhe him.
ALso not many people were believing Baam. In anime series even a self-centric "i dont care" type of Anaak were anxious about Baam and she said she is believin him. Well if you exaggerate Baam's power and skills more than its actual reality. And if you made a classic Shounen Anime Team that all believes that their main character gonna make it in no time ! And even show that Baam is already made it.
Well WHERE IS THE F.CKIN TENSION OF THE PLOT ? In the original series. Baam were promising some potential but he was practicaly one of the weakest in that group. And he is inexperienced cuz he lived in a cave for unknown time. And many member of the team that realy think like Baam is gone for good.
Thats why Khun's revenge & investigation story becomes a very interesting and tense sub plot. And thats why Rak's unshakeable belief towards Bam and never thinked that he realy died becomes a meaningful trust towards his prey/little brother.
Thats why even today when i think the scene that Rak and Baam reunioned and hugged each other i still get heavily emotional. How anime series can create a emotional reunion at that degree of tension ?
Cuz Baam is too strong, we already hear his decision that he wanna climb with his friend (which was a decision that declared veeerrry later on in the og story) and everybody belive in him.
SO where is the tension ? In the anime series only unanswered question is "When" and "where" ?
But in the original series you asking "How" , "Why" , "For What" , "Now What?" alongside with "Where" and "When"
Thats why the og story arc about Baam's timeskip change is one of the greatest in webtoons & mangas.
But anime make it more cliche, cheasier and easier.
I already hate why Baam's name is "Yoru" ? Cuz Baam is a landmark for that popular webtoon. ITs a special - brand name. Like Japanaese try to translate Nike or Burger King ? or "NBA" or "Michael Jordan" ... Its like that .
And i dont even get into how they changed so much thing around Rachel and Khun. They certainly showed that they only read Volume 1 and 2 from the webtoon.
Its an enjoyable and sweet anime. But the animation and art style is already not a good one. ANd you already changed the names of people and locations with japanese counterparts. Also your intro and outro clips are mediocre too.
Then at least dont messed up the plot, characters and motivations maan !

Well, ı love Makoto Shinkai but his early works are premature and this is one of 'em.
Biggest problem about this one is;
The movie's end theme is about dreams clashing with reality's itself and reality come on top. Thats a classic and very powerful theme to work. But the problem is; we dont know anything about the reality of these characters ? What makes'em so seperate and so destined to cannot come together ? Their families ?, Their economic-class differences, their genral manors, their religious beliefs or their future goals ? ? What are their realities ? What is the reason that have to
...
kept them apart each other.
Movie never try to give this reasoning. And without this reasoning, the all "reality is a bitch" theme kinda lacking power and logic. Its just senseless drama.
Great animations, heart warming dialogs, lovable characters but very very poor execution and very lazy last 10-20 minutes including ending.

Story:
Actually main story , the column of the path of our protagonist looks like a simple revenge/vengeance story but with side stories of other characters and politic plot twists creates different couple of powerfull inner stories and collobration of all these stories with the main one is the richness about this series.
Art:
Its not detailed as Berserk or crafty as Vagabond but still at its own unique magical and unreal touch... Its like illusion.. Had beautiful moments and bad moments but second half of the series is generally looks better compare to the start. But it was one of the artisticly one of the
...
best per month shounens ı've ever seen.
Character:
This is the best thing about the series are the characters. Very likeable and memorable .. I never forget some of 'em specially
Enjoyment: Full with likeable and unlikeable characters with different varation of motivations + full with plot twist surprises and settle beutiful moments
Overall:
Its a 90-93/100 series to me

Actually its very interesting but 7/10 is not good enough for TTGL but it aint deserve 8/10 either.
So its like 7.8/10 imo.
Story: 6.5/10
There isnt a much of a story its alienated with rapid timeskips and pointless ifrst 12 episodes that can be told in 5-6 episode easily. The tone of the series shifting so roughly. There might be a character development type of story. But there isnt a thematic story after all.
Art: 6/10 for first 10-15 episodes 8/10 for last 10 episodes.
...
Bright collor, stylish punk style, fluent animation (last episodes) are all synced up with the main theme just fine
Sound: One of the best. Seiyuss, Effects, OSTs all were great.
Character: 7.5-8/10
I'm sorry but most of the characters are only about one side.. And their source of motivation is kinda lost.. Yes Kamina is a huge impulsive force for the main character cadre but otherwise. ITs mostly about surviving from upcoming disasters.. So there isnt much of a depth of the characters. But still very likeable understandable and cheerable characters were in that show.
Enjoyment: First 7-8 Episode -> 7.5/10
All political nonsense episodes -> 5.5/10
After Kamina's death but before timeskip -> 7.0/10
After Simon and Viral become partners to the final -> 8.5/10
Overall: 7.6-8.1/10
Its a very emotional, fulled with musculan and heroic burst of emotion. Its a good for manly tears or smiles.. But thats it.. There isnt much of a story or philosophy behind it. Also its not feels like mecha.. Cuz Mechas moves like organic beings.. Cuz animation is cartoonish. So it has mecha theme but the main theme is battle-shounen.
Its a fine show with a lot of pacing and writing problems.. It shouldnt ve overrated that much.

Maybe ıt aint a top class point of literary arts. But still got a solid dialogues and quotes. And very strong main theme about "The transpassing between youth and adulthood"in other words Annarasumara is about crisis of identity that garnished with magic.
Very cool and unique usage of images and characters. Its really a circus shows but also tangled with serious real life issues. The conclusion over 3 different characters from 3 different economic grade/social status its also very strong and satisfying.
And once again reminder us that to become an efficient adult we dont need to abandon the joy of youth or our dreams.
Story ->

Theme -> 9.5
Art -> 10
Characterization -> 9.0
