Kaleid always had some leaps in quality over the years, but 3rei is definitetly the biggest one by far, i go as far as to say that it became one of the best Fate Spin-offs because of this part, every arc is filled with action, the plot has both intense moments and also moments that are filled with sorrow and emotion, and expecially an amazing art, every arc also feels meaningful to the story, always keeping the reader interested in the events, the only bad part about it is how long it takes to release a new chapter.

10/10: An underrated gem of Type-Moon history

I hate to say this because Kaleid for me is at the moment one of my favorite ongoing Type-Moon series, the manga that is, and the arc that the movie adapts is one of my favorite ones , it has so much action, nuance, character development and great visuals there, but the movie lacks almost all of them.

Visually it isn't good, sometimes it looks really good but mostly not, the story and characters are too rushed, and it's sad because Kaleid has solid adaptations overall, they handled Oath Under Snow greatly, mostly because it was an arc with around 10 chapters, this movie adapts ... an arc of essentially double or triple the size of the last one, and you can really feel that after the first minutes of it.

They did handle the last minutes of the movie much better than the first ones, though again, the manga is the better version by far.

If you want a movie with a lot of good animation, go for it, this one is full of that, but as an adaptation it fails in a lot of ways, this is not just an "ok" adaptation, it's essentially a 20 lines essay about a 200 pages book, so the plot might be confusing, the characters be much less interesting than what they actually are, and yes, even the fights mostly lack in comparisson to the original material, so for the true experience i recommend to check out the Visual Novel.
Aside from that, if you don't actually know the source material, you might have ... a pretty good time, visually it's great, soundtrack is cool as well, the plot is still pretty good since the original material is amazing, but it's still like comparing a casual breakfest to a complete Christmas meal, it still has a great taste, but far from the real deal.

As someone who's played Fgo for years, I've also waited for years for this adaptation, and I can clearly say that it's easily one of the best adaptations Fate has ever had.
The animation is beautiful, the action scenes are exciting, the new soundtrack is great and they reuse a lot of the old one, which makes the show not lose its identity.
It is very easy to cry in this film, and that goes for all types of tears, both happiness and sadness, the emotion is delivered impeccably and the conclusion is very satisfying.
The film is extremely moving and is especially amazing for a longtime fan ... like me, Cloverworks really taught another lesson in how to properly adapt a show, delivering both quality and fidelity in the same portion, and i don't think that any studio could have done that better than how they did.
