Both have supernatural survival themes, with great action and drama, where some chosen ones that died see themselves on a unknown situation, and can trade points of monsters that they killed for new powers and etc. Apart of that, if u watch the first episode, u gonna see a great similarity on a certain scene~

Player(s) of a MMORPG that are trapped in the world of the game without a clue on how to return home, but the protagonist of Overlord don't care about this, contrariwise... different from the protagonist of Log Horizon.

They're both survival games where a number of people needs to kill each other to be free from the carnage, with someone behind the scenes manipulating them.

They're extremely funny, having a very high rewatch value! Both have cruel humor and short episodes (half of the normal duration).

Same genre: Horror and Mystery. They're the best horror animes in my opnion! In both the characters are trapped in some place and has terrible deaths, Corpse Party have more gore btw.
