Honestly this batch was just as boring as the manga was, just slightly improved. AOT is great but... not just the ending but the whole last sections around the time Eren leaves to do the rumbling feels boring and poorly paced. Everyone doing the "omg, i killed a few of my friends, i never had the right to judge you for murdering my family" sh*t is mad mid. I feel the main problem is that the author could not juggle this many characters effectively as MOST were hardly even developed enough to be the star on their own without Eren. The few remaining scenes i
...
liked about the manga were animated here with the annie scenes.
For anyone upset, get over yourself and recognize i gave season 1-3 a 8-10 rating. Ive been dunking on this stuff since season 4 as i read the manga during season 3 and recognized the failure in writing. I dont review low because of one ending moment but because the series showed it was a one star show besides a few interesting characters like Levi and Armin pre-Erwins death. The pressure even got to the man (author) enough where he kept apologizing for the ending on twitter and he got teary eye at a conference because people actually said they liked his series. If there is this big of an issue, there is a writing issue that needed to be solved.
The credit i will give is the anime fixed that certain characters sacrifice. In the manga they really just off themselves for no reason as they dont affect the titan speed at all lmao. Honestly just an example of poor pacing and failure to juggle. And if you have to use dead characters to artificially praise living characters to stop your fanbase from comparing the leaders together, u failed as a writer. For many anime onlies not gettig this paragraph, this was all stuff prominently complained about during the mangas monthly releases. This is only the tip of the iceberg of issues that the anime finally reached.
If you love AOT and its your favourite show like how it was once mine, this will be good for you. If you were already iffy about the later seasons and/or know the manga spoilers/already have your stance on the ending, dont bother.

I decided to read Sweet Home after seeing clips of the Netflix adaption on Youtube. I decided the source material would be the best option. I honestly had a fantastic time reading this as the art and horror came through the series like i have never seen before. In a dark room at night this could legitimately scare you.
I think the biggest positive of this series is the intrigue brought on by wondering just how many types of monsters were out there roaming around and how they worked. The actual best part of this series is the mystery and not the horror or even
...
the story.
Where ever the story laks is made up by the awesome environments drawn on the pages. I dont think this is the best horror ever written but i def think it is worth a read for anyone interested in some cool images with some intriguing monsters to boot.

GTO is a series that is heavily referred as one of the all time greats by the small group of people who read the manga. While reading i could see who this was trying to appeal to but it was not for someone like me who wants a little more thought into some of these arcs. There are some decent chapters in the series that get drowned out by 30 plus chapters of the most boring shit ive had to sit through. This was a series that fell into the bleach problem but worse of re-doing the same story beats over and over again hoping
...
they will keep landing (the students attempting to take their lives on the roof occurs 6-7 times while other methods are attempted 3 times during the course of 190+ actual chapters). The author was out of ideas, don't beat around the bush.
While 1 or 2 good motivation speeches take place, it doesn't mean anything when this man my age is the most perverted person i have ever seen. I personally found it hard to respect him when he had to constantly fight off the urge to sleep with minors. Sometimes he would of gone through with it if he wasn't stopped either. This must occur 5+ times as well (repetitive).
I was also about to start a drinking game based on how many times a E tier character would show up and say (im gonna get him fired). Go count the amount of times this happens, even as just a cliffhanger, its high teen double digits. Repetitive.
Lets not talk about how he threatens his students with them being, uh touched, by old men.
too much text each page as well, it isn't a novel bro. Also, what were those boring idol spin off chapters that lasted forever???? they never matter
Here are the positive points:
- good art
- Decent action
- Great hype points when Onizuka wants to do some cool shit
- Some student characters like the geek have the best scenes.
- Perverted teacher is a great villain, shame i would say Onizuka is no better.
- Perverted Teacher goes out with a bang.
If u like series that try to be edgy and love self harm topics this might be for you, it was not a great experience for me

SKIP FILLER! This is being written before the Thousand Year Blood War, idk if they will create a differing section for that arc or add it on to here. Maybe this show was affected by being the last of the big 3 that i watched but it def felt weaker than the other 2 in the trio. That's not to say Bleach is bad (its one of the 3, it casually stomps most other shows) but it leaves much more to be desired after watching works of art like One Piece and Naruto. I know most people tend to say Soul Society was the peak
...
of the show and the rest was bad but i believe that is nostalgia talking since i think the peak of the show was around Aizens defeat and the arc right after. My favourite arc was actually the most hated arc as well being the final war arc but i will touch on that in my manga review.
Story: 8/10
Its tough to evaluate the story since it feels like the soul society hero's journey just gets recycled over and over since that arc was so popular. There is no massive over connecting plot as the story is mostly broken up into 3 sections depending on who Ichigo needs to fight. I think this fact alone is what drag it down below its other 2 rivals. At least the Quincy tease is set up way in advance.
Main/Side Characters: 8-8.5/10
Another tough decision. This puts into perspective how bleach tends to hit the right points on the head but then at the same time misses the mark. I found the female cast to be pretty pathetic besides those in the Shinigami. Ichigo may be the most down to earth but he is the most boring of the big 3 MCs. What shoots this score up is the Gotei 13 being absolute chads. What an amazing group.
Antagonists: 7.5-8/10
While there are other characters besides Aizen like the missing Shinigami, Aizen is the star of the show alongside grimmjow and the emo dude i dont even want to try to spell his name. While i think Aizen is a little overhyped he does look the part and he is extremely threatening as a powerful force. A few questionable decisions on his end, like if he didnt sit on his throne all day and helped out he would of won the war extremely easily. Bro refused to move until his army was next to gone. I get its his ego but man is supposed to be smart. Would give more points for their inclusion in the final arc but this is only reviewing the anime
Power System/Action: 9/10
Terrific fights that rival or surpass those of One Piece... somewhere in between Naruto and OP. The power system is almost perfect, my only problem is the author himself is extremely bad at power scaling his own verse. Someone can beat a character than lose to a character only to have the person they beat before no-diff the villain who just won a fight against the. No explanation given. Extra points for Bankai screaming and its entire system.
Comedy: 5.5/10
Generic anime comedy that never works on me. Only a few times actually made me think about smiling, this will differ based on the person.
Art: 6.5/10
People praise the outfits in this show, and they are indeed cool but besides the Gotei 13 nothing ever matches jojo drip or even naruto drip. Arrancar are fine i guess. Had to really drop due to heavily aged and blurry animation.
Music/Openings: 9/10
There is an art style here and feel that is not replicated by any other show. These are great songs to put on a playlist. That OST preparing for fights in episodes in by far the best or one of the best in the big 3.
Story/Conclusion: 8.5/10
Somehow the anime crew picked the best place to leave off before catching up to the manga. You can finish the anime arc and feel fully relieved without being cliff hangered, but there is always the option for the manga to finish it if you so desire.
Final Thoughts
Bleach is an above average experience that has some really good high points if you like classic Shonen stories. Not my favourite action Shonen but i see why it was popular back in the day. Takes some episodes to get decent (about 20).

Not worth my usual review setup. This gets a point for being super hilarious to watch with friends as well as being better than Skeltar Heaven. Go in expecting a laugh for all the wrong reasons. Keep an eye on the automatic shotgun in episode 2 lmao. In all seriousness, bad camera cuts, MC lets his friend get groped because he is day dreaming, no explained lore, i could not finish this even for a laugh. I find it hard to believe someone would find this show enjoyable for all the reasons why the author actually intended.
I am actually baffled this community score is

This is where i finally started to understand why people like this show. Im still not in love with the series (see my season 1 review for reasons) but the new writing staff directing this season did a terrific job.
Story: 8/10
This season picks up and finishes where the last season left off. There are much higher stakes and more believable tense filled scenarios since the power scaling has rised. And even after hating the first season, the tearful episode near the end still worked on me to a decent affect. This was a surprising turn around for me. Im still not sure if it is
...
worth sitting through 20 episodes of bleh to get here tho.
Main/Side Characters: 6-7/10
Most characters are still average or below average but there was some great devlopent for Karma and Sensei during this part. Sensei alone carries this score 1-2 points higher than it should be. He went from dislikeable to pretty likeable for me.
Antagonists: 6/10
Once again, it is pretty easy to side with most of the government so i don't think the author gto across what he wanted to. This score was brought up some since they tease a cure to finally give u a reason to maybe want to hold the government back.
Power System/Action: 7.5/10
A massive step up from the previous season again. There are actually people who can stand toe to toe with Sensei this time which makes for some high speed fights. The government finally get off their asses with decent tech now too.
Comedy: 4.5/10
Not funny imo, below average for your average anime. Slightly better here than the beginning arcs.
Art: 7.5/10
Nothing to complain about or boast about. Besides a few great looking fight scenes there is not much to take note of. No real change between seasons.
Music/Openings: 7.5/10
A massive step up here as well. The English incorporated into anime openings is a soft spot for me. The last opening also really captures the somber vibe of this being the end of the story with its lyrics and imagery.
Story/Conclusion: 7.5-8/10
Extremely great sad episode, wasn't too impressed with the wrap up episode that followed after as it seemed cliché but everyone comes to this series for the semi final episode anyway.
Final Thoughts:
Putting as mixed feelings since i personally don't feel like the first season, being the garbage it is, is worth sitting through just to get to a pretty good season. If you liked the first season you will love this one. If the first season was eh or bad in your eyes, there MAY be some redemption here like the case with me.

Now before people start raging at me for my opinion, i want to make it clear that i really enjoyed the second season, enough to give it an 8. The writer for this season was different than that of the writer of the second season, i think this directing is what makes this part seem so much worse. This watch was not even enjoyable imo, i was rather frustrated while watching this program. Without further ado lets get into it.
Story: 4.5/10
While i enjoy the concept of this super human being threatening to destroy the earth while working as a teacher, the concept is the only
...
good thing about this batch. My problem lies with the lack of forethought from the writer of this manga and the government in the fictional story. Who the **** allowed this alien creature to sit in a room and teach while time ticked down. IDC what sensei offered, this is the dumbest decision to ever be made from a government in reality or fiction. They put full faith in a class of children to learn how to kill the global threat. While there was potential for interesting episode dynamics, they waste this time to show some idiotic scenes. They have sensei, Infront of the entire class when every student has ak 47s, they all shoot and he can dodge them all (prolly hundreds of bullets a second). Only to have a serious arc where a government sniper might shoot sensei and finally kill him (Did they expect viewers to believe one bullet would suddenly do the job?). The writing is extremely inconsistent and treats its viewers like they cant remember the previous episode. An absolute botchfest. Any of the emotional beats would not come until the second season.
Main/Side Characters: 4/10
Show me one individual that can name all 20 students in the classroom..... the author bit way more than he could chew. Besides Karma there is no one even above average here. I thought Sensei was more annoying than funny. Bro would gloat about not being killed by 12 year olds.
Antagonists: 3/10
Oh no, bad government guys who are simply just trying to save the earth...... this would be fine if it wasnt wrote like the government was the scum of the earth (I was cheering for the government tbh).
Power System/Action: 4.5/10
Its fine, Sensei being overpowered can be exciting for a few scenes but most other actions are pretty lame assassination attempts. Wtf is a clap of doom lmao. Mostly just unorganized gun shots.
Comedy: 2/10
I was too busy being angry with the writing competency of the author. comedy is subjective but this was not amusing at all.
Art: 7/10
Actually pretty decent, not bad animation for its time and decent speed shots when attempting to show Sensei's speed. Nothing bad or jaw dropping.
Music/Openings: 2.5/10
The first 2 openings are actually E or F tier. They are soooo boring and generic with the students all doing one dance move for the whole 1:30. Its more jarring when you see how good the 3 and 4th opening are.
Story/Conclusion: 5/10
Not the true ending to the story but at least it ends with an okay arc with the tower.
Final Notes:
If you like to smoke or dont mind watching something that doesn't require thought this is for you. I honestly don't know if this season is worth pushing through to get to the better moments in season 2.

I believe Another is still the only true horror anime i have watched to this day, and its sad to say but it was kind of underwhelming. While the beginning concept does an adequate job of starting to make you interested, it never really gets its feet off of the ground. I have never really seen others talk about this show so i am unaware if my opinion is common or an outlier.
Story: 6/10
This ranking could be vastly different depending on someone's mood when they watch the show. I felt like this was an 8/10 potential until they do one fatal mistake. By episode
...
4 the main mystery has already been slightly unraveled enough where there is nothing else to grasp your teeth into for the remaining episodes. Yes, they even have time to squeeze a beach episode into this during the halfway mark. Now, i still think it deserves a 6 due to the story during the mansion picks the pacing back up but the twist at the end left me rather baffled and unimpressed. This will change based on someone's ability to believe the twist.
Main/Side Characters: 5.5/10
Lets be real, besides a few character designs everyone is either boring or an annoying child. This gets generous points for the creepy girl in the first few episodes.
Antagonists: 5.5/10
Can't really get into this without spoilers, I wasn't impressed with the rational for the events that took place.
Power System/Action: NA/10
Comedy: NA/10
Art: 7.5/10
The filtering and shading off the episodes leaves the viewer with the right feeling of dread when it matters. This is most solid throughout the beginning and ending of the story. Besides the one girls character design, everything else is just average.
Music/Openings: 5.5/10
The opening is dragging down this score so much. While the song is fine it really really really does not match the vibe the show is attempting to give off. Im honestly giving it points for being funny. Creepy OST is creepy.
Story/Conclusion: 5.5-6/10
As somewhat stated above, the twist will either work for you or not. For me i was so baffled i decided to look up a YT video just to confirm my suspicions. It was eh.
Final Notes:
Watch with some friends with a good laugh, do not go in here expecting high quality writing. Go in expecting a B or C-Tier horror film. Not sure if i would recommend to someone who takes their horror seriously.

Akame Ga Kill! was made during the time where it was extremely popular to have shows that killed off its main cast frequently to grab viewers attention. Due to this, many groups targeted this show for being a trend follower that had nothing new to say. Fortunately for me, i watched this in 2019 without having any previous knowledge of this situation. Without bias (as little as possible at least) I can tell you that some complaints are valid while majority are not. This is a fine action show to watch if you have nothing left to watch on your bucket list for the time
...
being.
Story/World Building: 6.5/10
I gotta be real, the story department for this show is nothing to note. Besides an intriguing opening episode with a twist to the usual dynamic, the main plot is your usual corrupt government that has to be taken down. The main plot is generic enough where i can see why people thought this was not much more than a kill fest. It is not bad by any means but it feels very docile with mediocre world building at best.
Main/Side Characters: 7/10
Your main cast is your typical gimmick fest with each character having one main personality trait that defines them. I personally don't consider this too bad since the dark atmosphere around the deaths of characters feels different enough to set the show apart from being a generic cardboard cutout. The main character is the definition of a C tier protagonist as I don't even have the energy to recall his name. The main glory here goes to the yo-yo string boy and the title of the show. No deaths were ever too impactful since they got rather repetitious.
Antagonists: 6/10
Besides Esdeath this show has quite a few aggravating minor villains along with the pre-mentioned generic corrupt government. The enemies are rather boring and may even put you to sleep. If Esdeath or the wholesome dude isnt on screen, there is not much to keep you interested.
Power System/Action: 8/10
This has to be the strongest part of the show with a decent strength system alongside unique abilities. Tie this in with deaths around each corner makes for an interesting, nail biting experience.
Comedy: 5.5/10
Very rarely will you see me give comedy higher than an 8, anime comedy seems to usually be pretty poor in my opinion. This show was no different, cant guarantee a laugh.
Art: 7.5/10
Nothing too interesting to say except some character designs aren't too bad at standing out, alongside some beautifully directed fight scenes.
Music/Openings: 8/10
Both openings are pretty decent, decent enough where i would put them both in B tier depending on my feeling for the day. Second one is pretty iconic. Action music does not disappoint expectations.
Story/Conclusion: 6-6.5/10
Without getting into direct spoilers i feel like the manga had a superior ending compared to the anime only ending. Some of the deaths at the end left a sour taste in my mouth but the main plot was at least resolved with competent writing.
Final Notes:
Can't fully recommend this one unless you have nothing else too watch or are a big fan of shows like AOT or TWD. Some may be turned off by the gore fest for the sake of nothing else but shock death as well. This gets a generous low 7 in my books.

91 days is the first anime I ever watched in 2019 besides growing up with Beyblade Metal Fusion. I had to get eased into anime with this show because I had some heavy anime stigma where I thought anime had nothing interesting to say or provide. Due to this I was given this show to watch first because of its lack of fanservice and usual anime tropes, it fit more in line with the drama shows i used to watch.
Story: (7/10)
The show follows the vengeful main protagonist Angelo who is out to get
...
revenge on a mob (or mafia, I don't really know tbh) for events in the past that affected his family. While it has been a while since i watched this, I remember the story being pretty griping, enough where I was thoroughly interested until the conclusion of the main arc. Besides a boring OVA final episode I would say this is the perfect show to recommend to people who have negative thoughts about anime. Recommending something like AOT to someone first may work for some, but I know that would not of worked for me... this was perfect.
Main/Side Characters: (6-7/10)
They were entertaining enough for your first watch through but no one in this show stuck out enough for me to remember them a few years out. While they are well written, the show is based more in reality so it was harder to find bigger than life characters. If i had to give a number i would say this was a 6-7/10 in this department.
Antagonists: (6-7/10)
Refer back to my character rating here, no one special who I would remember down the line unfortunately, but they did the job when i was in the moment. Some empathy/decent motives can be pulled from the antagonists.
Power System/Action: 7/10
I usually would leave this blank if there is no real Shonen power system and not count it as part of the review but the gun play in this was pretty well directed. It gets a good score
Comedy: NA/10
Art: 7/10
Nothing special, not too dated. Not much to say.
Music/Openings: 6-7/10
The opening took some getting used to but after a while I feel most people can appreciate it. The op does a great job capturing the mood of the series in its music and its melancholy animation. The OST throughout the episodes also do a decent job of conveying the times and action scenes but nothing to put on a playlist IMO.
Story Conclusion: 8/10
Its own category since AOT taught me it really matters. If we are not counting the OVA episode, I felt satisfied with the end to most character arcs and with the deaths that took place. The set out goal was achieved.
Final Notes:
This can be a great change of pace for someone who needs a break from too much Shonen or too much slice of life. It fills its own unique spot in the anime market. While its not breathtaking, it is a decent first pick to make a friend watch IMO.
