THE STORY
The story, for the most part, fits naturally and allows an understandable continuation; however, there are a certain amount of flashbacks or visions that sometimes interrupt the reading. In that part the flashbacks could have been inserted in a better way to avoid the confusion of the readers.
It started as a simple story, a protagonist with a single goal and a group of people who also shared it, in favor of humanity. Progressively, we find ourselves with more complex elements, still understandable and interesting. We were filled with more and more doubts, but still expectant of the answers to them. It came to a

point when the goal (after what we thought was his main goal) of the main character became so confusing, that this issue could not be concluded in the final chapter. It gives me to understand that the author himself could not agree with himself.
The story of the main character being the antagonist is nothing new, but Isayama gave it a few touches that make Shingeki no Kyojin a different manga and anime from the others. On the predictable, I feel that the final chapter, in its last pages, fell into that error, specifically for its female protagonist.
Although in general the story has had a time management according to the events that happened, except for the last chapter, I think it falls into the error of rushing with the relationships between its characters. It is not so easy to forget, forgive, take importance, love someone in 10-15 chapters, where certain characters interact for 2-3 pages in their entirety.
I do not know if the final part of his last chapter was to give in to the fanservice , if so, bad move. If not, I still think it could and should have been much better.
Currently I feel that the vast majority of manga are ending in timeskips to show the audience what the characters are in later, which is not bad, but if in the final arc there are many things still to be solved, just by showing a timeskip and a couple of dialogues about what happened is not enough. In Shingeki it was necessary to solve many things and characters that we had not seen for more than 50 chapters have returned from nowhere, we do not know what happened, why they perform certain actions, etc. This ending did feel very rushed compared to how time has been handled in the manga.
ART
I don't have much to say, one should not condemn art that progressively improves, and that has been what has happened. It's not my favorite style, but it feels accurate for this story. I'm proud to see the style improve.
CHARACTERS
We know that Eren is emotional, even quite impulsive. But at the beginning of the story he had one goal, then he changed or evolved to another, in both cases he was clear about why he wanted to achieve them. Now in the last chapter, Isayama comes and throws everything away, causing Eren to say that he does not know the why of all his actions. While Eren is a mostly an emotional person; However, that didn't stop him from putting that aside. He would not have done everything he did just because or because he felt like it at the time. Better that the author say that he did not even know the why of Eren's final actions.
I can't imagine a worse ending for Mikasa than the one they posted, after all , we don't know what the heck Eren said to her during their memories, but it seems like he told her to wait for him forever. Which is very painful and toxic, she deserved much more than to be aware of a person, who loved her, but who apparently was not able to let her have a future without the constant memory that they could have been something else. They show her away from everyone and hanging out with a grave, and then she is happy because a bird comes and fixes her scarf. Leave her alone, Eren.
Another thing, that the only way that Ymir could be set free from the pain of her love was to Mikasa to kill Eren, so pretty much passing that pain to her. No thank you.
Reiner's flawless character development took a very low hit from reading his disgusting comment on Historia, enough. Let the boy live under his development, I think putting him in the position of following behind Historia is disgusting. It can't be that line the last we saw of him.
I want to believe that Armin's comment about calling genocide a transgression was for ease Eren's mind for what he did . We know that he is the perfect manipulator. Although it could also be a translation error. Also, the fact that he was so calm about the genocide in the final chapter still gives me indications that it was because of Eren, not because he believed it. That's what I want to believe, Isayama please stop shitting the characters in their last moments.
IN GENERAL
Oh right, there are no consequences for anyone about anything. Totally out of place , it practically shows that hatred is fought with hatred and violence with violence, and in the end there will be no kind of consequence for any of the parties involved.
With each sentence I write for this review, my total score changes, I must say that at the beginning I was going to give it a 9, but with my ideas organized I think an 8 fits perfectly.
It was about 8 interesting years, for me, next to this manga. In which it was developed in every aspect and I, at the same time, was developing as a person. There are things with which I do not agree, but it does not mean that it has not been an entertaining adventure.
One last detail, which may be part of an incorrect translation chain: Isayama's final author note made me uneasy. To say that the work that brought you world fame and recognition was not important or worthwhile is disappointing. It even gives more reason to why this end so hasty compared to the story in general. He had many opportunities to remove various doubts from us, but apparently it was not worth it.

The beginning of the story can be a little slow for most viewers, but once you start understanding what is going on there is no way back. The story is so engaging, you can't just leave one episode and go, its so interesting and made me elaborate theories that I thought were unbelievable but could turn to be true.
The opening its just a masterpiece, from the beginning to the end. The mix of singing and rapping its just so pleasing to listen. Im in love with it and couldn't skip it. The characters, I just love most of them. Their personalities are so interesting and wished ... |
