BERSERK IS NOT A 10/10.
Yet I still give it a 10/10, why?
Berserk starts of rather slow. Gorey, edgy and cool fighting. But not much substance.
Tho the black swordsman arc gains substance and meaning later on in the story. In the beginning it doesnt really seem like anything.
Then comes the Golden Age Arc. Which is easily one of the best, if not the best, written piece of fiction ever. And takes the manga medium to a next level. There is a reason Berserk doesnt work as an anime. Page composition, the art, every single thing that makes manga manga is done to perfection here and tells

Chainsaw Man feels like a sketch for a bigger story. Details are missing, the story moves at lightning speed, characters are introduced and killed of in the next chapter, its a narrative mess. Narrative wise aside, the manga has potential. The demons are unique and the fights are cool. But I just cant get behind the narrative. No real explanation why Makima was manipulating MC besides just being evil. No real depth to the characters, beside either evil, crazy or wanna touch boobs.
