I heard about this anime a long ways back from several people all saying it was good. It wasn't like I doubted them but I just couldn't bring myself to watch a show called 'Cowboy Bebop'... Well I eventually gave in (must be about 10 years later) and I have just finished watching the series.
I thoroughly enjoyed this anime. Just about every episodes is a fun and exciting watch with a bit of comedy here and there.

I wouldn't say there is any overall story to this anime but each character has his/her own story going on and we learn a little about each throughout the ... series, but never really dive deep into any of them apart from perhaps Spike. Spike reminded me alot of Mugen from Samurai Champloo - his looks, his attitude, highly skilled fighter etc so I think I enjoyed his character and story the most. Again it didn't go very deep into his story/past but it didn't really need to, to be enjoyed.
All the characters have their quirky little traits that make them all the more loveable and entertaining to see in various situations.

The English dub is not as cringe worthy as most anime I have seen but its still pretty horrible IMO. I dont think the voice for any of the characters in the English dub suited them at all after having watched it in Japanese.

The art work and animation is decent considering its age. Its nothing spectacular but it does the job and fits the general feel of everything being a bit rough and only just maintained to a working condition. The action scenes are great with some cool fights, gunfights and space battles. Most of which are fairly fast paced but easy to follow.

This is definitely one to tick off the list. Don't worry about how old it is - you will enjoy it!
