In my looking for Science fiction animes, I encountered this. Honestly I didn't understand shit. I even had to use ChatGPT to break down some concepts and even then, some things seemed unconnected. Story went from making a little sense, form making no sense at all, to suddenly redeem itself towardes the end and suddenly doing a backflip and break your mind again.

Main character lacks any personality, other than being "the emo guy that doesn't talk much", but unlike Gordon freeman, who is cool af, this guys is just plain creepy, seasoned with anger issues and no point of even existing in its own ... story.

The "villain" goal of making a better human-kind? been used a 1000 times and even then, the author managed to do it wrong.

The best characters are actually the side ones, they had more soul and credible stories and feelings that the main elenco.

So, my first review and I feel like I need to get this out of my chest.

**SPOILER FREE REVIEW**

First of all, plot doesn’t fit with what we saw in the original anime. Not even the design of the finals Boss fits (I prefer the original design any day!!!), then you got little discrepancies we would expect from a movie adaptation. I mean, I get that this story is told form Asuna’s perspective but I liked the way Asunta and kirito first interacted, both being extremely cautious and self conscious with the other one, like you would expect from an interaction between two Japanese teenagers. ...

Also, I really liked the instruction on Mito, I know that it’s a plot instrument used in the movie since I think she doesn’t appears in the light novel, but it gives Asuna’s first hours in Aincrad a great background. WHat I didn’t like was the fact that mito’s character was so intrusive in the final fight, where in the original anime we saw an expectacular dance between Kirito and Asuna to defeat the boss and the final strike from Kirito now you got a Disney-like friendship powered trio that combo’s their way to the victory. Like WTF

Overall I really did enojo y both animation and music, this was CLEARLY a AAA production but, again, don’t mess with the plot. It totally kills the ambience of the world created by the author.
