Have yet to see if Kovacic can fill in the role of Gundogan in any form of way. It'll be a huge miss for them, but I reckon Pep will find a way to make things work out. Wouldn't put it past him that he'd play Ederson as a midfielder if need be haha!
Also, don't beat yourself up to it. Had Man City been coached by anyone else other than Pep, you would've clearly won the Prem. But so long as Pep is there, he won't make it easy for anyone to win the Prem haha. I know about this first hand as a FC Barcelona fan. But who knows, maybe Rice was the missing piece to give you guys the edge against Man City this time around?
I've finally gotten around to finish watching Ao Ashi and stumbled upon your post in the discussions tab. I too relate in my own way to things that happened in the show, as I too played for a local youth team as a kid.
Took a shot at being scouted alongside with a few fellow teammates for AFC Ajax. While this more than a decade ago, I still am thankful. Because I at least got to have a chance, even if I didn't make it.
I eventually had to quit completely due to a traumatic experience, but ever since then my dream still lived on. As I fell even more in love with the Sport. Not necessarily by playing myself, but by supporting a team that gave me so much joy whenever I saw them play. My dream has and will always live on with the club I support.
I'm sure that many other guys like us have had an emotional experience at not making it. But I really hope that you too found a way to have your dream live on, in some form of way! :)
