Zankyou no Terror...I'll give you a quick review of what I thought of this anime!
First Impressions: After watching the first episode. I knew that there was a reason why this became my first priority anime to watch before the Summer Animes were aired. The trip only got better throughout the episodes.
Story --------- 23/25 ---------
Really unique story here - we have two young boys that are terrorists - bombing various places in Tokyo, but guess what? They aren't regular terrorists. No, not at all. They not only have a reason for doing this, but they have a unique method of how they do this, and it's
...
done in a way where no one gets killed. Or is that so? The story is really deep, and the arc lasts throughout the whole series, which is why this anime doesn't feel too rushed in any ways. It's something unique, and I was very interested in the plot here - being the first anime I found that was announced back in winter 2013 or spring 2014 that I added to my to watch list.
Animation & Art --------- 14/15 ---------
I love the art in this anime. It's subjective of course, but I feel that the art here is very well done - and it fits the situation of the anime very well too. The animation is smooth, though the art for a large mass of people may be a bit less clear and clumpy. Fortunately, everything that's actually important is well animated! The explosions are pretty, the movements are smooth, and the emotions on people's faces are well shown
Sound --------- 19/20 ---------
The music in this anime is incredible. I've been listening to the soundtrack for a while now after finishing the series, and just...Wow. Some of the music is especially unique, including the disturbing "lolol," a quick-paced "saga" (my favorite), a strange sounding, "ess," and some really relaxing songs like the ending used for the last episode, "bless," etc. Another great thing about it is that the names for the tracks are really strange, which fits the atmosphere of the anime and the song itself really well. The opening really caught my attention and subjectively, I love listening to it - though it definitely may not seem like something everyone may love. The ending is similar in a way, but it also gives the impression that the other songs and tracks gave - strangeness, and uniqueness.
Characters --------- 22/25 ---------
This is where things get a bit deep. Since the main character list is kept down at a minimum, you actually get to learn a lot more about each particular person. Considering that this was one arc through 11 episodes, we got to know the characters pretty well - those including The boys, the detective, and the girl, and the white haired girl (Avoiding names for now). We got some decent supporting characters as well, those being the people in the government as an example. I thought that the development could have been a bit deeper, but it was really pleasurable to see all the characters grow and change their feelings throughout the anime. It was also interesting to see the connections they would make with each other when they met.
Enjoyment --------- 15/15 ---------
I had a great time watching this anime. The second I started watching, I knew that this would be a great trip, and I know that you will be feeling that as well. The scenarios were really well done here, and the trivia that you can learn from this anime is very interesting.
Final Verdict: I highly recommend this anime to you because of its originality, music, art style, and wonderful characters - and bombs of course!
