As far as genre goes Grisaia no Kajitsu is probably one of the best in its field, as long as the genre is action, school life, comedy, romance goes.
The story begins with Yuuji being a mysterious transfer student coming into a new school. Also mysterious as in I don't trust this dude he's probably some badass who can kick my ass, not a Persona protagonist. Fitting his persona the school also seems to be special in the sense only five female students attend. Each of these five girls seems to have some kind of tragic back story as implied in episode 1. (Is this
...
show saying men can't have trauma's? I mean maybe Yuuji, but he doesn't seem like it.)
Now as a reminder this is based off a visual novel, so it uses the same anime adaptation set up that consists of each of the girls being helped one by one. Along with that fact this is a visual novel which I have been told is quite popular and it only has 13 episodes isn't a reason to complain at all. I feel anime adaptation are mainly used as a means to draw in more people to the game. (I haven't played it by the way.) If they wanted to tell the whole story like with Clannad, they'd need a lot of money. Remember Clannad I believe still holds the record for best selling visual novel. (Clannad came out ten years ago by the way.) So it isn't surprising that they can't match it. Dangan Ronpa (my favorite game) was the best seller for its year and look at its anime. Same with Persona 4.
The characters begin as shallow and 2D (Its odd people complain about this since it is fiction? I mean yeah I fall in love with them, and I like realistic characters as well, but still its like getting mad at someone for being real.) however as each arc ends they go from annoying stereotypes to interesting, well developed characters. My only complaint is not everyone got a arc. Pink haired, maid didn't get any love from the company and remain 2D along with onii-chan girl. (Yeah onii-chan had a interesting back story, but still pretty generic development wise.)
Art work was great. It was fun, and really did a good job at freaking me out. Its been awhile since I was freaked out. Probably hasn't been like this Mirai Nikki, or Corpse Party and those were more plot than art. The art along with the plot gave off a great feeling. Also since this is based off an Adult visual novel who doesn't love fan service and busty women rolling around on beds. I know I loved it.
I always have trouble when it comes to the music section. Especially since I listen to the songs once, or twice then skip. (Sorry Froggy-kun. I know I'm supposed to sing along to watch anime correctly, but being a student it isn't easy managing time and work.) The bgm didn't stand out, but I guess its did its job.
Overall I really enjoyed tuning every week to see what happened next with each arc, and whose arc was to follow. This anime is for visual novel adaptation fans everywhere, along with any one who enjoys the sick and twisted, traumatic side of humanity.

Before I actually begin I'd like to clarify some stuff. First off I am a straight man, not that's there anything with being gay. Second I'm actually a fan of traps and gender benders. (I'm a man damn it I have needs.) Finally I've read the manga which is a lot better than the anime (but still pretty bad.)
As far as storylines going the show begins as a knock off of Hayate no Gotoku being that he parents ran off leaving behind a debt with the Yakuza. (Japan's Mafia) His debt is paid off by the student councils of the terms of him living the
...
rest of his school life as a trap.
Aside from the whole beginning I'd say it was pretty original a concept. However its only good concept wise. There is no actual plot, and most of the show is trappy fanservice goodness. Though the writer went overboard with the traps. I know there's like six cross dressing students at that school which ended up being just annoying.
Animation and character design were pretty mediocre, especially with guys crotchs moving around like its some kinda jello. I know my crotch has never moved like that and I'm sure even if I wore some panties it still wouldn't move like that!
Music was forgettable especially since I had to watch a three minute commercial to watch a two minute video, I pretty much skipped past it after the first watch.
The only character development was how the protagonist Hime slowly went from I hate cross dressing and being a trap to women pride!... Okay, slight exaggeration but still he his his chest as a man. Yeah I swim with a T-shirt on but if I got somehow removed I wouldn't cover myself. Especially in such a feminine way.
Overall the only reason I can see someone watching this is if they're A. Paid to watch anime and review them, or B. A fan of traps or believe said traps are actually girls. (Sweet ignorance) I myself genuinely enjoyed it, but unless your A., or B. I wouldn't watch it.

When this show was airing I decided not to watch Love Live, because its ain't my style however I ended up watching it because of the rhythm game app I found in a commercial.
This show is really enjoyable. The art, and music were really great and I found myself somehow excited to watch the next episode (hasn't happened in a while.) Now I know I said its enjoyable, but only if you don't really think about it. (I watched while I waited for my LP to refill)
The plot is a group of girls become idols to save their school. Original really, however I
...
found it extremely unrealistic because everything seemed to go the main girls way, and they all knew how to sing. Its odd seeing nine people extremely talented at singing to the point they don't need to practice. It also was really predictable, I could for see every character who joined, (you can say its because of the opening, but no. Its just predictable.) And it was all shounen anime where every enemy suddenly become friends with the main. Character. Do people even like their school that much? Why does she love that school so much? Is it because her mom went their? Why?!
Art was good since it went between 2D animation and MMD's I think their called. (Though I've seen better quality ones on YouTube.) The songs manage to make me smile and all were fully translated which was nice since I'm big on lyrics.
Despite this being a more anime it wasn't really moe which is odd. K-on which is a similar show I manage to love at least 2 of their characters (Mio and Azunyan) but with I didn't really like any besides Niko and that's just because I managed to relate to her ( my friends blow me off a lot.) Also the main girl everything went her way, it was seriously annoying.
[Spoiler]
At the end one of the girls was about to leave and the main chick goes into the airport right as she was about to board the plane (how did she get in?) And talked her into staying. (What happened to the plane ticket? You can't just stop stuf like that. Also she is seriously selfish. I've been told I'm selfish, but I'm selfish in a sense that I do my own thing. I don't mess anyone else's life up. She does something she drags everyone down with her.
[Spoiler]
Overall I think this show needs more moe. The only reason I can see someone watching this is so they can play the rhythm game. (It isn't needed but it makes it easier to choose favorites.) The show wasn't funny, moe, or even inspirational. I don't think being a idol would be tough if you can control the weather, and have amazing talent like that, and get everything else you want. Like she screamed at the rain to stop and it did! I'm not even joking. Screw being a idol, be a weather girl. If I had the chance to go back in time and stop myself from watching this I probably would. Yeah watching it is enjoyable but once you get down and think about it you go into this living hell!

Kanojo ga Flag so Oraretara is about Hatate Souta and his ability to see various flags. (If you play visual novels its an event that triggers the story to turn in a certain direction.) As original as the story sounds its execution of it was awful. To begin the plot was basically slowly figuring out stuff about these flags, then it went with this crazy ending that had little to no foreshadowing. Now I like major plot twists like TWGOK manga ending, this was more like how could I have predicted this. Plot twists should be able to predicted, but at the same time
...
you don't.
The next problem with the show is the characters. Basically everyone was pretty two dimensional. Every could fall into generic character types. Like little sister, big sister, tsundere childhood friends, and that trap that wants to be manly. The harem itself was boring since characters fell for him for almost no good reason. Its worse than the whole he was nice to me reason. They just kinda fell for him.
Artwork was good, and I liked the colors. This show also has a more prominent art style, though it looks like the artist used anime as reference when drawing them instead of real people, which is like in school how teachers copy copies, and the handout you get is all fuzzy and kinda tough to read.
The opening was okay. Because there was no character development, or relationship development they couldn't sing about that. So the only thing they could sing about the concept of the show; Flags breaking. Yeah the song was upbeat and cutesy but the it didn't make me connect with it. Openings should have some relation to the shows focus. This shoe didn't really have a true focus besides flags causing the song to fail.
Overall I did enjoy the show since I watched it all, however I only watched it cause I had nothing better to do and I'm not being tsundere. The show itself is a good way to past the time, and nothing more. Though watching it can be painful at times not because of drama, more because of how lame some of the flags are.

Ore no Imouta ga konnani Kawii Wake ga Nai, or Oreimo is basically about a normal guy who want's to live as normally as possible finds out that his little sister is actually a in the closet otaku. Now, I know this sounds like a really generic anime, (it kinda is, but also isn't) but this show actually goes into various ways otaku-ism (I think?) can effect relationships, and people's lives. Something most anime with otaku protaginists totally ignore.
Now to go further into the actual plot it's basically Kyousuke (protaginist) figuring out how to help a bunch of middle school girls. Suprisingly it's interesting
...
since they bring up a lot of good points are how otakus are looked down upon. I can actually relate to most of them since my family always call me otaku, and weaboo.
This show itself it one big, ball of irony also. Since Kyousuke's phylospy is that living a normal life is best, and gets stuck with a bunch of otaku (They are considered bad in Japan.) He states that people who are siscons are crazy, and only like them since they don't have little sisters while the title is translated as "My Little Sister Can't be This Cute." They also mention that watching anime will make you like incest, or become a sex offender. Kirino (the little sister) makes Kyousuke play eroge and watch anime, and again refer to the title.
Now the art really kinda sucked. Now I know every illustator has their own art style, but it didn't really stand out all that mention. The only thing that really stood out was the backgrounds. They had a lot of detail like at the whole comicon thingy it had cosplayers, and a bunch of people. This is probably the only thing that was really good since it's school life, and doesn't have like any service shots.
Sound was all right. I couldn't find many translations for the actual opening, or ending but from the little I could actually translate, and what I did find they were pretty catchy, but they didn't really fit the show. Since the first one was basically about Kirino just being tsundere.
BGM was nice too. Each character's theme was original, and didn't sound like a ripe off from another cheap anime.
Now character's is a major issue for me. Mainly Kirino she is a total b***** like seriously. She goes and treats Kyousuke like he was some kind of infectious disease for years, and then when he finds out her secret and realizes she can use him she becomes a total slave driver! Yeah, she's tsundere, but she's has like no dere! All I saw was just her picking on her brother, she wasn't even that cute about it, or anything. Also everything she does she's good at. She the star of the track team, great grades, a model, popular, writes a novel that instantly gets serialized. She's another Shiina that's how much talent she has! Character's like that really annoy me! And she's the main chick too! (I'm going by the title of the show.) Ugh, when I see her I kinda want to break something! She's not even strong idependent women, she's just a major b*****. Now this are words I don't throw around a lot but their is no other way to describe her.
Kyousuke is an interesting character as well. He was the main reason I continued to watch this show (I originally watched it since it had tsundere, but after I saw her I was like "Hell no!") He beliefs that normal life is the best. He want's to get a plain job, a plain wife, and live as plainly as possible. The whole house, wife, two kids, and a dog plan. It makes you wonder why does he think this? When I was a kid I always wanted to be a hero of some kind. I never wanted to live a plain life so why did he? Like what Keima always say "Reality is s***" so why did he want to submit to reality? And why did he always work so hard for everyone elses sake? He never really got anything out of it so why do it? And I don't want to hear the whole "well he's the protaginist." If he wants a normal life why do this stuff? He's basically the most interesting person in the show, and one of the few reason I actually watched it.
There's also Kuroneko, and Ayase who are both Kirino's best friends, and total oppisites. Kuroneko is tsundere done right along with chuunbiyou (kinda) otaku, while Ayase is a yandere, model. This developed a very interesting dinamic between the group since Kirino wants to be able to talk about how she enjoys anime, and stuff while Ayase has a prejudice. (Otaku are often mentioned when people talk about sex offender, and various other crimes. People also mention that otaku-ism leads to crime so I don't think it's alright to hate her for that.)
[Spoilers] Kinda? You've been warned.
Now before anything else I suggest you have alteast some knowledge of the ending.
[Actual Spoiler]
The ending is something that's really awful since I was rooting for Ayase, or Kuroneko the show and the show went and pulled the incest card. Now I don't hate incest (Some of my favorite manga have implied incest, and have cousin marrieds. Now i know that's not siblings but still) but it kinda half baked it since it was only a temporary relationship. Personally I think if your gonna do go all out. Like I can't see me commiting incest then dating someone else. It would really awkward to mention, and if it was a harem I wouldn't be suprised if it destroyed all the other girls affection for me. So when they did that it was kinda like what the hell. Of course I also was rooting for Kuroneko, and Ayase and really hated Kirino.
Now this show is probably for Otaku's, School Life lovers, Rom-com lovers, Incest lovers, harem lovers, and Protaginist lovers (that's me. I think Kyousukes a good one since he manages to be intersting like Kyon, and Hachiman while also helping everyone.) Or maybe if you just want to see a bunch of innocent girls suffer.

Story:10/10
If you read the synopsis (I don't think it does the show justice.) this sounds like a generic harem set up however despite the lame premise the anime manages to bring in a much deeper concept; does hardworkers have any chance against talents in achieving their dreams? This show portrays the unfairness of the real world in a realistic way (makes sense.) It also sucessfully shows just how much talent can effect relationships making it an interesting show to watch.
The show also has several sub-plots. The main one is a love triangle between Shiina, Mashiro, and Sorata (there's also the rest of Sakurasou's tenents romantic
...
relationships.) This is something that bothered me for a couple months after watching this since it's really good. It's mainly average love triangle stuff.
The story itself is told from the point of view of Sorata (though it's actually more of a third person view with Sorata thoughts since you scene several scenes without Sorata.) The story is well paced and manages to show comedy and drama in such a way you don't get tired of it.
Art:9/10
Since this is a school life genre background, and character's concepts are plain. However the way the illustrate the show is beautiful. The way they illustrated Mashiro's paintings (they illustrated a illustration!) Was amazing. It gave me a feel that her painting's had the ability to suck you which showed you just how good her painting are. There's also the fan service which is overdone, but just enough.
Sound:9/10
Let's begin with the openings, and endings. Both were catchy, and fitted the show along with animation along with it. (They didn't make my iPod since only the best of best makes it.) However Nanami's opening "I Call Your Name Again" was really good and did make my Ipod! I think Shiina Mashiro songs made it also.
BGM I think was based around each character's talent. "Ryuunoska-sama is Busy" is what makes me think that since it sounds kinda computery, or maybe synthiszery. Either way it was really catchy, and fitted each scene well.
Voice actors time! Nanami's voice actor is a voice actor from the same area Nanami is from, and I think they both had the same dream also. So I'm guessing they probably managed to relate quite well. Since they both wanted be voice actors she could have gone though the same things as Nanami making her voice realistic. Of course all the other voices matched too! (Nanami just had the best example.)
Characters:9/10
Okay, these character's manage to give character's a real connection. When they fail, I feel like crying, when they succeed you celebrate with them! Each character is really well developed. Shiina for example I hate as a person, but as a character is great.
As for their interpersonal relationships I can talk all day about each of them but I'll try to keep it short. Like I mentioned earlier Shiina I hate as a person because she's is really co-dependent. However she is an extreme talent. She is so talented that she crushs other's dreams without trying. Not matter what she does she pretty much suceeds. Despite her being the implied main heroine (She's mentioned in the title kinda like Aria the Scarlet Ammo.) I can't see her and Sorata as an actual couple that last. Since almost every other episode he's made at her. The only real reason I'd think Sorata would like her is because he isn't thinking with his head, and he's thinking with something else. She's not only a tall blonde, she's also the shows main source of service shots. I think every episode they mention her panties.
Nanami is basically the poster boy for hard work. She spends everyday working part time saving every penny to pay for rent, and voice acting school. She works herself to the bone for her dreams, and the people she cares about.(I think that's what the writer was tryin to do with the love triangle.) She and Sorata's relationship is them encouraging each other, and basically confining in each other as well, they both have similar personalities as well since both of them are rather serious.
Overall:9/10
The reason I only gave this a 9/10 is because the ending didn't really answer much. Now I also don't want a season two which I guess contridictory. If you read the novels you'd know why. Author totally skimmed out since he realized the anime is so much better than the novel! Anyway I'd recomend this show for rom-com lovers, cute girls lovers, school life storys with interesting concepts like oregairu, or maybe hagainai lovers, and all you sado-masochists who like to watch other's sever, or get into the want to watch the people you care about suffer ultimately causing you to suffer also.

Oregairu is basically about Hachiman adventures in the service club; a clube dedicated to helping students with their problems. Hachiman helps these students usually using unusual, or twisted means.
Let's begin with the pacing. An usual light novel based anime usually runs every four episodes equals out to a novel. Oregairu has three episodes equals a novel instead of four. Which is probably because most of the novel is probably just his beliefs. Now this is relevent because a majority of the show is just the him ranting about society.
Each episode usually concists of a single ark. So it's not like a lot is really happening
...
it's more like things are happenings and he's just thinking. This is interesting since most light novel based anime they cute out most of the protaginist's thoughts. This also makes Hachiman one of the most developed characters.
As for the other character's I don't know. It's not like they're uninteresting, unrealistic, unrelatable, ect. It's more like you don't grow attached to them. Since most of the story is his thoughts you don't really get a lot of other character developement. Most of what you know of other character's is what Hachiman says. Besides that there's only really a few times you see them develope more. Basically it's enough to know who they are, but not enough to understand, or become attached.
One character that really stood out to me was Hayama Hayato. Who is basically Hachiman's oppisite. I liked how he spoke of idealism and while Hachiman voices his "realisim." Since most of the cast is either weak will, don't show up ofte, or are also loners I found it nice to see a different opinions in there... Though it usually lost...
Most of the shows art is plain, however Hachimans eyes... Well they describe him quite a bit. They look kinda lifeless, or tired, or maybe uninterested which really fits his personality. The animation for his flashbacks are also good since they're basically old film movies thingy. Voice actors are good. Hachiman VA captures his detest, and disinterest, while the other character's voice capture character's personality well.
The opening, and ending both really fit the show since they're slow paced, and mention isolations a lot. I know the ending song is called like "Hello, Hello Alone" just from that... Yeah. As for the BGM it's pretty fitting. Most of the BGM is almost like a rock and roll thing which plays whenever Hachiman thinkgs something, or talks about his beliefs. So like most of the show.
Now this show is probably geared towards intellectuals, pessimists, loners, those who enjoy dark humor, and romantic shows without a lot of romance. If you like shows based around simply crazy humor you probably shouldn't watch this. (check out Panty and Stocking, or Daily Life of Highschool Boys.) Also if your one of those Idealistic Masochist's watch it. You'll see your ideals crash, and burn...

Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai, or Haganai is about the adventure's of Hasagawa Kodaka and the Neighbor Club. A club based around socially inept people trying to make friends.
This show weakest point is probably it's story, because it has almost no major plot development's, or even real arks until the end of season 1, and the end of season 2. Despite that it does have many redeeming qualitie's in other aspects; specifically characters.
Haganai is often compared to Oregairu because of the theme of social outcasts, and loners. However Haganai's character's can probably hold their own against Oregairu's. Since Haganai's main focus is characters. Even
...
character's who are more side character's also are well developed such as Rika, and Maria. Even Kodaka our protaginist is a great character's though I can't go into him without spoilering.
Since I wasn't always Mr. Popular in school I managed to connect with quite a few characters. I related to character's when they mentioned being left out during group projects, and how being arrogant causes you to be left out, and how if your really good at something to the point of being better than everyone else people who also like that thing will dislike you, even if your not arrogant about it. (That last one I saw happen it didn't happen to me personally.) This cast was really relatable makes up for the lack in plot.
The art is unique since it shows lips. Something I rarely see in anime. (except those girls with the make up and huge lips.) This show also has service shots. Not like HOTD fan service with Boob Bullet Dodge, more like here and there. I personally find it (some) nice. One major question I have, which could even be a good reason to watch the show: Do the girls wear panties? Sometimes it looks like they do while other's it makes me wonder...
The openings, and endings for both seasons didn't really stand out enough for me to put them on my phone, though I do feel they were fitting for the show. BGM was also based around character's since almost every time Yukimura comes in they play traditional Japanese stuff. However I did like the Sena and Yozora conflict theme.
Overall this show was pretty good. Not for everyone, but if you were in similar situations in school, or are sympathetic you'll probably like it. Even if your just into school life, romance, or even harem. It's probably one of the better harems out their since the protaginist is good.(Not the best, though it does come close. Ichigo 100% is the best. If your coming here for harem watch that then come back!) Even if you just have nothing better to do I'd say watch it. It makes good points on friendship and the likes.

This is one of those feels anime. One of those that makes you cry. Like I've only cried to maybe four anime including this one. You will shed man tears it's that sad.
The show is basically about a purgatory world where people who's youth were cut short live. So from the "youth were cut short" you can tell this will have both comedy (youth) and drame (cut short.) This show actually manages to keep the two seperated unlike other shows where a cool scene suddenly gets a random lame joke.
This show is made by Key which is the visual novel company that wrote
...
Clannad, Kanon, and Air. The art work is pretty similar if not the same as their other works. The action scenes are what stood out the most to me, specifially Angle's abilities. Just the coloring is nice. Also blood is also shown quite a bit. Of course it isn't like a horror show's blood so even though it looks like blood you won't scream which I found nice.
I actually watched the dub and the ova I watched subbed so both of them have good voice actor's that portray the character's feeling well. No sad scene where the character sound like they have nothing to do with it. The opening along with the BGM is all classical music that sounds really soothing. It gives off a sense that this world is made so it's inhabitants can find peace.
Even though the art, sound, and story are all really good. The character's are what make this show truly shine. The main character's are all really well developed and even some of the secondary character's are pretty well developed. They go into why they're doing what their doing and why they're unhappy with how their lives ended. All of which causes you to developed a very strong connection with them.
This show is probably good for just about anyone. It has romance, action, comedy, drama, music, you name it, it probably has it. In a sense this show could be a perfect show for everyone. Unless you don't like shedding man tears.

Story:9
Our story begins with our friendly slacker guy Shiro. He's basically the silly guy that everyone loves. He gets accused of killing a gang member begining his quest for clearing his name. The story itself is quite confusing, and kinda slow at the beginning, but overall it's pretty good. Once your done you'll probably end up wanting more.
Art:7 and Sound:7
Pretty good art work. Though its the kind you can see with most other anime. Though the fight scenes and anything magic scenes were really cool. Though one thing I question is if the artist's are fans of BL. I just saw a lot of scenes
...
where I thought "that's pretty close to kissing." maybe it's just me. As for sound the battle music, or maybe the before battle music was the only thing that stood out.
Characters:8
The characters were interesting. Despite the show only having thirteen episodes they're relationship were developed it quite well. Though even with these I thought BL... I don't know why? It made me question if they were trying to make us ship characters.
Overall:7
There was times when I felt this show kinda dragged on but once I finished it I realized I really enjoyed it. I'm not a big fan of action so action fans should watch it probably. Though BL fans that like BL that's implied should watch it. Either way I'd atleast give it a shot
