So you like subtle gay romance?
Berserk is definitely for you lmao
What does Berserk 97 do good?
1. Story, This is by far the best thing this anime has going for it. It shows how our Main Character Guts from Episode 1 came to be in that position by explaining it in the rest of the anime (episodes 2-25). This anime on a story level shows how in depth and exciting anime can be.
2. Characters, Not only are the main characters interesting and detailed, so are the side characters, every character in this anime feels like they could've been a real human being. I feel the dark
...
themes in the show amplify the humanity in every character, because instead of making them idealized, it gives characters such amazing depth people can unironically make hour long video essays on one character.
3. Conflict, the drama in this show is pretty good, I would almost say it's the best part of it, but seeing the characters as one group poised to make this terrible world better by following Griffith is amazing to watch.
Weaknesses:
1. Too Edgy For You?, it probably is for the average person, but if you don't mind gore and very graphic depictions of horrific crimes then this might not be a weakness for you.
When the anime's only weakness is that it can be too dark at some points, you know it's a pretty good anime.
if you're willing to watch large scale medieval battles, characters grow with each other, some graphic violence, then this show is for you.
Berserk 1997 is Fantastic, 10/10.

El Psy Congroo.
Now that the obligatory reference is out of the way, I can start cooking up every possible reason you should watch this show.
Why is this show peak ficiton?
(Because it is lmao)
1. Characters, The shows strongest trait are the characters, because they start off as gags turn slowly turn into something bigger than that through the progression of the plot.
2. Time Travel that makes sense, You already know this is a time travel anime, but the way the time travel works in this anime has clear boundaries, but still has depth to it.
3. Romance, The way the romance is created and the way it's
...
explored makes this anime different than many other romance anime, because it's a subplot, but the use of romance is amazing because it strengthens certain actions and adds more drama and intrigue to the anime.
4. Comedy, This show is pretty funny ngl, but that might just be me, although theres only one way to find out 0-0.
Weaknesses?
1. Slow Start, Me personally I don't think it's a slow start, but compared to the rest of the anime, the first 12 episodes are definitely slower. The main reason behind the slow start is because it's setting up everything for the insanely high highs you get in the second half of the show. Without the slow start, those highs wouldn't be as high, because you wouldn't have as much emotional investment with the characters.
2. Sci Fi, while it is science fiction, it's grounded in reality for the most part, the most sci fi the show gets is time travel, and somehow someway it finds a way to explain it in real terms.
Steins;Gate is my personal favorite anime because I like almost everything about the show. There aren't any filler episodes and if I'm being honest this review doesn't tell you how good the show is.
The only way for you to know for yourself if Steins;Gate is peak ficiton, is to experience it yourself.
Steins;Gate is Fantastic, 10/10
(But He's a Guy)

So you like pink haired Tsunderes?
I mean I could personally take it or leave it, but it has it's mereit even if it is a little annoying from time to time.
So Familiar of Zero Season 2, what does it do good?
1. Huge overarching plot, For an anime that has a Tsundere and a lot of moe in it, it seems a little odd that theres such an impactful plot nonetheless an entertaining one. This anime centers on geopolitical kingdom warfare where all of the boys in the academy go off to the military, while all the girls stay behind. I won't go much more
...
in detail than that but it allows for some interesting character moments for Saito (Mc).
2. Romance, Some people may not like Louise all that much and say shes some annoying brat, me personally they're not wrong she definitely comes off as that, but it does make some sense as to why she is that way (being the runt of the family and literally zero magical ability will do that to a mf) but it doesn't take away from the romance in this season in particular. Compared to the other 3 seasons, this one has the most amount of romance between Saito and Louise. Since I'm a romance anime junkie this acts as a positive.
3. Character Drama, This season capitalizes on the character drama the most, whether it's the relationship between Saito and Louise changing on a whim, or giving deep personal backstories to a side character that builds up to an incredible moment. While everything may not be executed like it's cinema I believe that the attempt itself in an anime like this is more than enough to get anyones praise.
Where does it go wrong?
1. Harem and misunderstandings, Since this anime does have a harem, thankfully in this season it moves further away from it, but it doesn't solve the same relationship issues that Louise and Saito have had since season 1. When it comes to misunderstandings, the size of a certain area on the female body ends up being attached to Saitos arm every few episodes which leads to a gag where Saito explodes.
2. Execution, It does seem odd for me to rate this anime so highly and say the execution isn't the best, but it is the truth, there are some things that could've been done better, but I feel that mostly because of the type of show that it is, rather than the plot points it was trying to execute being poorly done. It just conflicts sometimes and seems jarring because of the preconception of the being a goofy little fantasy isekai from the 2000s.
While this show does have some questionable moments like most anime out there from the 2000s, unlike those shows it can reach a pretty high height and nearly reach its potential as a story.
Zero's Familiar S2 is Amazing, 9/10.
(mfw the talking sword is the best comedy in the entire show, but they still insist on making Saito into a thermonuclear bomb)

What if I told you if you mixed Mecha with the Supernatural you'd get one of my favorite shows ever Code Geass.
What makes this show good?
1. Fast start, the first few episodes puts you immediately into the action, the show benefits from this because it makes you understand the stakes of the show, while also defining every character and what they stand for.
2. Our Main Character, Lelouch is the person we follow throughout the show, going from a bored underachieving school boy to motivated genius with a supernatural power. Watching his character grow over time is interesting because unlike some other genius's who get
...
immense power, Lelouch still seems human although a very flawed one.
3. Action, For a mecha show it has some pretty interesting battles with high stakes. This is mostly because out main character is an underdog in every battle because he doesn't have the power of an entire country's military but instead an terrorist organization full of normal Japanese people.
4. Character interactions, Pretty much every character is entertaining in this show aside from a few, some characters can outshine Lelouch in specific moments but overall the character interactions and their archetypes are fun to see play out.
What are the problems with the anime?
1. Oddly Convenient Plot Points, Since this is an action-mecha anime I don't care as much when the plot pulls something out of it's ass to keep going. It's like being on a fun roadtrip with the boys and its getting closer to sundown so you keep prolonging the roadtrip to keep having fun instead of just calling it a day and heading back home. I don't personally mind it since I already enjoy the premise and love to see it going, but to others (maybe you) it would come off as cheap and you'd hate that one specific plot point.
2. Stupid Decisions, This ties into the OCPP because most of the time these happen in those situations, whether it's a character doing something completely moronic and it backfiring, or some horrible thing happens out of nowhere with quite literally zero setup and it gets explained later.
Should I watch this show?
Yes, while every anime has it's problems I personally believe that the heights this anime reaches are good enough to the point you're willing to ignore problems (for the most part).
Code Geass is Excellent, a 10/10.
It has it all, everything from, Highspeed Mecha fights, Large scale epic battles, character relationships being built and destroyed, dramatic moments that will keep you wanting the next episode, and a main character so interesting he carries the show on his back like its nothing.
(Orange Boy is still the GOAT tho)

If you like Romance, Wolf Girls, Medieval, and Economics in your anime, this one is for you.
but there’s more depth to it than that, specifically the relationship between our main characters Holo and Lawrence. If you don’t care much about economics regarding coins or product (the plot of the show 💀) you at least have the fun and interesting interactions between Holo and Lawrence. Watching their relationship grow and change overtime make this somewhat of a slow burn romance, although it’s not the main focus.
This show balances the romance and actual plot pretty well, while also sticking pretty close to the Light Novel source.
...
Adapting volumes 1-4 and possibly 5 once this ends airing. Aside from it being a remake of the original Spice and Wolf anime seasons from 08-09 it does have its distinct differences from that version.
The first major difference between the two shows is the animation quality, just one look at both shows should tell you this one has far better animation.
Second is the adaptation, as I said before, this anime adapts the light novels in its entirety (or at least more accurately than 08-09) While this does give us content we’ve never seen adapted before (volume 4).
Third is the quality of adaptation, while this show does have better animation, most of the story has already been told in 08-09. Because of this show feels worse than it is because of the constant comparisons to 08-09. The more powerful interactions between Lawrence and Holo feel like they matter a lot less compared to 08-09, but I feel that’s because of the shows prioritization of properly adapting the light novel instead of adding needless romantic subplot to keep out brains occupied.
Outside of the comparisons to the previous adaptation I would say as an anime it’s Amazing (9/10).
The major positives being:
Continuity is easier to understand because it’s adapting volumes in order.
The art is beautiful, with the music exemplifying it.
And the economic plans/storylines are interesting to see play out in and out of Lawrence’s favor.
(also god tier dub)
