Mochibei is an abstract short film by Kurosaka Keita. This review going to contain only my personal interpretations of what I got after watching this 57 sec short film.

I have two different viewpoints on this:

In the first interpretation the only character(ironically who is also the MC) that is portrayed here got in some sort of accident or something in the likes of this bcoz of that his whole face and body becomes deformed and with this comes great deal of problems both mental and physical.

Bcoz of this deformity everyday life becomes very much difficult to handle for the MC. As if ... we put ourselves in the shoes of the MC we can see for ourselves. Some things I would like to point out that will must happen with people with whom these kinds of accidents happens. Normal people keep staring these people , I'm not talking about everyone here but most do stare. Some people do talk about them and feel pity about them and all other sorts of other things normal people do. Due to all this the victim feel unsettled , frustrated , disturbed. And as the inner turmoil keeps on increasing the victim no longer wants to live and at some point in the short story the inner monologue becomes unbearable.

What I get from the ending is as the inner monologue keeps on increasing there is only one way left to be free from all this. The only way to peace for the Victim is death and finally he committed suicide and becomes free from all this.(Most feasible solution here is of therapy instead of committing suicide) but I don't think this is what portrayed in hachibei bcoz of that constant banging of his/her head on something(which is portrayed as viewer's screen).

In the end we can see the background with bright colours and the MC is no longer in the frame. Initially , the background is black which shows MC suffering and later on he got the peace he wanted which is shown by clear blue sky.

The second interpretation I get is the MC is suffering from some sort of mental illness. The main cause of this mental illness is because he is a loser in his life which is portrayed by the words like "Damn you" "Bastard" and "Useless" which for anyone clearly indicates that something is wrong with the mc life. As it keeps on increasing which is shown by his change of body after continuous banging on something (which is not shown) and the end he meets here the same fate as above i.e. commited suicide.

This review is only going to be about the first short story among many from ep 1 - 4 no longer a human. I've never seen such a way of cinematographically showing characters, their vivid memories and internal conflicts except another show that I got reminded while viewing this anime is 3 - gatsu no lion same type of depiction of characters which is very rare to see these days.

From my limited understanding the main character portrayed here is mentally ill ( or schizophrenic in nature). This illness comes into being because of trauma in his childhood. He is sexually abused by various women's in ... his childhood and the very passion he has for drawing is being rejected by his very own father. As he has no purpose in his life , he became clueless and lost the zeal for life. This is enough introduction and then the story unfolds in its own ways which I don't want to spoil see for yourself.

I'd recommend this anime to anyone who is bored from normal psychological shows and wants somewhat different kind of experience not usual.

A bit of warning , don't watch this show if you wanted to feel good there is nothing here for feeling good. This is a type of story which depicts characters who have lost everything and just don't want to live. They are just living for someone's other sake . The story focuses more on the human psyche , how complex human psyche is . The same mind which motivates people's to excel in life can also do the opposite and lead them to suicide which unfolds different way in different people's. This short story also very well portrays how the objectification of women's is so much increasing and women's are mostly seen as a lustful object.

For people's who can't handle shows related to suicide and mental illness or are dealing with any sort of mental illness. Stay away from this anime , and others who want to watch take it slowly don't watch the 4 episodes in one sit. Take it slow reflect whether it is ok to watch or not.

Stay healthy mentally and physically .

This is going to be my first review on Mal. So I'm going to keep it short and simple. This is one of the fucked up endings I've ever seen in an anime. I've watched earlier an anime named Scum's wish which had an okayish ending but trashy plot progressi but this anime has an overall good progression plot but a trashy ending btw I have only watched the anime don't know about the VN.

This anime has given justice to one of the negative emotions that humans posseses like jealousy.

If you can plz put yourself in place of any of the characters for a moment. ... Are you okay with that much of agony? Are you okay with that much of suffering?

Anyway this is just my opinion you can watch it and you can judge by yourself and btw the feels this anime gives is going to stay with you for a while.

Some things that characters posseses are jealousy, fear of being left behind, cheated on , lied to , lack commitment, are not true with themselves and neither true with their feelings.

This anime has a lot of feels,drama,going to left a hole in your anime. If you want something dramatic then I do recommend you to watch WA2 and you are going to learn a lot what jealousy does to people.
