If someone asked me what is the perfect acting anime what anime can be known as probably the best in its own genre then i would say Glass No Kamen.
The story has the feeling of cliche around it since it almost depicts Cinderella who cant break out of her shell because she is held back by those around her. Having said that it wouldn't be the anime it was if it hadn't something like this in it and the way it flows is perfect with everything else that happens around it. Although there is drama in this anime even close to become a melodrama
...
something makes you want look past in and look at it as general but great drama almost as if in a play. It never gets too suffocating which is normally the flaw in anime like this. It embraces drama in ways other anime to this date could learn from and know that this is how you make a story flow as it grabs the main character through her ordeals , this is how you make her feel sad and show it. Everything about this story has a meaning which is why it makes it even greater and one never get tired from it. As i watched this anime i almost binged it through all the 51 episodes because i always wanted to know what happened next even though that might bring another cliff hanger that one had to watch.
It more ways than one the soundtrack captures what this anime is although it doesn't stand out too much its still good for the anime its in. The openings and endings are notbad but they are not the best either but again its not bad and it flows well for what it is.
To start of most characters in this anime are great in their own regard and its even harder to pick out one or the other to give a better image of the anime but i will use the 3 mains in this anime to give a better image of how i viewed it.
Kitajima, Maya a girl who grows up with a mother who expects nothing about her own daughter. She has a personality that one falls in love with at once. Her passion for acting feels so real you want to let her do well in whatever she does although her naiveness or dense personality has you wondering she is a perfect main character in many ways. You wont get tired of her but you will always want to see more of her.
Himekawa, Ayumi who is what is called a genius in many fields of entertainment. I personally like how she is a mature yet fragile person in different ways. She isnt one of those cliche rivals to the other main whos only thing is to bully the others out of their role. No i love how she fights for her role no matther what it happens and aknowledge those around her for their abilities and doesnt try to put them down because of superiority.
Hayami, Masumi a man with sometimes mysterious motives and a person you will either hate or love depending on how you see the story. His character is a divided in 2 parts one can say. One is the the ruthless media man who does anything to get what he wants while the other is the caring person who wants those around him to bloom while he watches from distance. As the other two characters this one is unique in the sence that he portrais different sides of a male main character in an anime whom you never really know if is going to someone you dislike or someone you want to follow as much as the other mains.
These 3 characters are at the center of this great anime and one feels it as the story and other characters are supporting them in every sense.
I never expected to find this anime and when i found it i was surprised and over the moon. Rarely do i get to find these hidden gems and always after finishing one of those i am afraid that this will be the final one. That is why i enjoyed this in every way i could. I loved the story and how it was set and that it created a perfect atmosphere that captured what i romanticize as acting in its purest form. Which is also why i have basically nothing bad to say about it.
Overall i rate this anime as a masterpiece since as of now there are few anime that deals with acting in the way this anime has captured in and i dont think that as of now there are many if any anime that can compete with this anime with this concept. This anime is a masterpiece for everything it does. It doesn't try to make something out of nothing and it doesn't try to drag things out in ways it shouldn't be. Its one of those anime you will hope in your heart that you wont forget because of how great it is.

To start of this is one of the most recent anime that has given with a relaxing great feeling as i watched it and followed it through atleast the early stages.
While this is strange to say this but i enjoyed this less in some ways as i went further out in the story but let me start at the beginning. The beginning is great in many ways that it gives you a good cool feel to it although that might feel slow for some i kinda love those beginnings that start that way. As the story progress we learn more about the main
...
character story and what has happened through his life that gets alot more interesting. Its what i would call a low key dark anime that stays on the grey side of the world early on in the anime. As we get further there are some annoying parts which i have to blame some of the characters for the main character kinda being one of them mostly. Since as the story developes and sound more interesting it also goes away from being one of the more unique into what i would like to call a predictive plot line which in some ways starts to get slightly irritating for me as i watched it since it was ah yeah now this is gonna happen and now we have to wait that long for something new.
Nice feeling to the art i felt i liked the way the eyes were made in this anime was very nice.
The first opening and ending are one of those great ones you almost cant skip but you just love hearing it again and again. And if i combine it with the good and calm soundtrack i find myself saying only good things. The second opening and ending though is not up to par. They are less than interesting and feels like good enough op and endings but nothing special about them.
I personally really like the main character Kiriyama, Rei alot atleast i do in the first 13 episodes or so and some later might have to do with the impact is lessening after a while but i feel he gets more uninteresting at times in the later stages of the anime. Early he is this cool , calm and almost empathic feeling character thats interesting to follow but later he softens too much and starts to feel less like the one you started with in many ways.
The Kawamoto sisters are an interesting bunch with personalities from 3 different of stages in a persons life. Child , Teenager and nearly adult. Although i at times can find them too imposing on the story and they can be a little too friendly in a sence. I also enjoy having them there since they sometimes helps the story on or help the main character. None of them are overly boring or annoying which i like but its not like everything about them is interesting either.
I fully enjoyed this anime in many ways eventhough i have my complains about some of the later points i really enjoyed it in every way and it goes into one of my go back to anime when i feel like i need to watch anything.
The anime never really got me to a 10 to be honest it felt to me more like an 9 or a strong 8 but in the end i felt it was unfair to give it anything but 9. If you like calm and relaxing anime that also gives you a great story then you will love this. I will almost say that you should love it in that case but if your not very fond of main characters that arent as action packed/ in your face or stories that arent as straight forward and a little slow then this anime might not be there for you but i hope most people will atleast give it a try.

An surprising upgrade from the first season in my opinion.
The story is more smoother in my opinion now and you can feel the difference in how it has changed the graphics having been bumped up. Its a direct sequel kinda from the first thats easy to see although that is if you have watched the ova episodes. That there is an anime that begins with creating an doujinshii is very interesting and unique in the anime world. The added new characters have their own impact on the anime although sadly one of the is just so annoying that you want to throw down a
...
deep pit. I think if anyone has managed to get throough the first season then this one is a brease and it will be that great sequel that one can expect.
As mentioned earlier the graphics got bumped up which started actually with the ovas and it makes the serie look alot cleaner. Not saying it was bad before it just looks brighter in a good way.
The sound is much the same as before its good but nothing to write home or talk about.
Character wise there isnt much difference than the original one although Sasahara, Kanji has grown some more backbone and it doesnt feel like you want to strange him for being so undecided.
There are alot of new kinda impact full characters but the most being Ogiue, Chika who is the newest member of genshiken. She has a self proclamained hate for Otakus and she hates everything that has to do with Yaoi which kinda becomes her introduction you can say. She is a Tsundere in many ways but she is interesting to follow and see the interaction with the rest of the members specially Oono, Kanako is funny in every sense.
I can say i enjoyed the second season more than the first due to the better interaction between different characters and more fluid story. It was fun from first to last episode and it just made me want more. If you like the first one you will deffintely like this one i can say that with almost 100% certainty. Its interesting and its well done so if your an otaku fan i advice it will all my heart. I actually think this anime fits anyone who enjoys slice of life anime since the way the creators show a life led by otakus and it feels real as you watch.
Overall for me the second season deserves a 9 due to it having improved alot from the first and it just feels easier and better to follow overall. My cons if you want to is the how many things are hinted too much but not fully explained which i fault the creators for not using the content from the manga better. It doesnt have that masterpiece feel to it but i definitely feel that it feels great in many ways for what they do and how clearly they show it.

An anime that takes time getting used to due to characters and the early pacing.
So in this anime i think the story is very well done it captures a certain type of otaku lifestyle but also brings with it the difficulties around it. The story shows well that most people can be love anime manga or similar no matther how they look and shows that you need acceptance for those who do what they love. I would say due to different aspects though this anime begins rather slow and might scare people from going further since they will be worried that the rest
...
of the serie is like this. In that case i can reassure whoever reads this that this isn't the case. The story picks up and gets more interesting as you move through it. It gives you an uncensored view on how some or many otakues are and everything from ero games and cosplays and what involves as people take the tour to the land of doujinshi.
The art might be another aspect someone might move to another anime because it might seem dull and uninteresting but for me its refreshing and fit the anime very well.
The sound in this anime isnt something you will remember to be fair its pretty normal anime music and the openings and endings are good enough.
To be honest there are too many mains so to speak but i view Sasahara, Kanji as the main for this seasons since much of what we see is kinda through his eyes. Hes shy , not very outspoken and for those who watch this anime i understand if his personality pisses you of but once you get past that wall the anime widens up and get better. i wont go into a big detail unless getting asked about the rest of the characters but i will give a description of the other ones.
Madarame, Harunobu is the typical i only like 2d girls and 3d girls are boring type he spends more money on anime than he does food and everything he needs for living. Having said that hes a pretty funny and interesting character in itself since he isnt the creepy otaku type.
Kousaka, Makoto is an untypical otaku with good looks and hot girlfriend but he is also a beast at fighting games. Hes interesting in the way that he has a dense like atitude and kind.
Saki Kasukabe: who is Kousakas gf. Although she doesnt really like otakues she gets along with them because kousaka. She is fun to follow as she tries to understand an otakues mind and also has to get along with the idea that she hangs around them.
Kugayama, Mitsunori: isnt much to say about him other than he doesnt know how to talk loud and hes a pretty shadowing guy and would rather view him as a supporting than any main about him.
Tanaka, Souichiro is the most mature of the group but what makes him interesting is his devotion to making cosplays for anyone and being able to do basically any cosplay.
Oono, Kanako: She is what i would imagine being a typical otaku girl. But as with the rest of the group she has her good points but also her annoying faults that sometimes gets a little over the top. Btw i didnt intend to write this much about the characters it just went like it.
I started to enjoy this anime more as i went from episode to episode and got to know the rest of the group more. At the beginning many of the characters and the feeling of the it almost made me drop it but, i kept going through until it grew better and fun.
Overall i think its more of a 8 anime than anything higher or lower due to it not being good at capturing whoever watches it at once. This anime is probably for anyone but i think as you grew older more of this anime will be more appreciated. Having said all that if you really like the otaku culture i recommend this highly if not highest of anime in the way it captures that world.

If you love anime and the process behind it this will come back to tell you again and again that you should watch it.
One of the many reasons is the story. Girls who want to make an anime together sounds something that can be cliche but the creators of this anime has made it original and fun. Its not one of those everything clicks at once and everyone is happy since everything goes well. No this anime fully brings out the process behind making an anime and not only that but the different sides of animation. Everything from drawing to voice actors. You cant
...
help but to love it every time one watch it. Although there are times you want to push one spesific character over a ledge his stupidity is almost errased from memory as the better and more fun characters enters the stage and really lights it up so much that you cant see that big insensitive idiot on the side. This anime has done what a lot of other anime cant and that is to stay true to themselves and go with their own pace. That is the feeling i had when i watched it and finished it. It felt like wow these guys didn't have to cram stupid stuff into it to make it fun to watch. It was a story about anime , its production and the people around it in its purest form.
I think the sound is were i would think ah didn't really remember much here or didn't think about much here. Which isn't that good but the sound isn't bad either its just normal with hints of good soundtrack in between. And the opening and ending is a matter of taste i personally found them uninteresting but again this is just the sound and music so it wont bash my faith in this anime at all.
Ok if i had to talk about every "main" character in this anime i would make whoever read this bored fast since there are like 5 and there isn't a big meaning for me to 1 make someone bored and 2 talk about every since then this review would be longer than it already is. Tehe.
So i will talk about Miyamori, Aoi who is what i prefer to call the main main character of the anime since you see her mostly while the other "mains" are a little here and there depending on the parts of the anime. I honestly like Miyamoris character from the get go. She is hard working yet has a weird like personality. like talking toys and pretend they either talk to her or talk to each-other about different worries she has. She is a typical character you want to do well with what she does and you always want to see more of what she can do. She is purely interesting and there isnt really an annoying side about her.
As a general way of summarizing her friends or other mains would be to say. There is an aspiring voice actor who struggles with confidence but she is interesting in the way she handles it. There is a aspiring 3d graphic girl who struggles with what path she should take onwards in her job. Then there is a drawer whos confidence or lack there off is sweet yet you also want her to find out. The last is an aspiring writer who is at college but is interesting in the way that she is an all round support to the other 4 girls.
As you see if i wrote one summary of sorts and how much i liked them all i would be writing wayy much and it wouldnt be that fun.
As i started watching this anime it just proved to me how much this is a must watch for anyone who loves anime and the production behind it. I liked everything from most of the characters to the story buildt around it and it never got too melodramatic or boring. I enjoyed this to a 10 and more.
Overall this deserve to be honored for the pure and clean work this anime is which is why i think eventhough i dont give it 10 in everything i still rate it as a 10. I think in its own it will be viewed as a classical anime for what it does. This anime didnt have to put romance and alot of drama to make it work. it just had to be itself from the start and continue onward.
As i have said previously. Watch this if you have an interest in anime in general and the production behind it but also because it overall is a great anime that i almost guarantee that you will feel after a time that you want to rewatch and just see this unique great anime yet again. There is a risk that it might sound slow for some which is something i should just say since i know it is that although i dont mind it personally.

And here i thought the first season of this was bad when it comes to everything expect art in comes a new challenger.
Story is the same as last one only that its worse and only this time we have more characters how fun isnt that ugh... If i said the story was bite bite bite bite bite bite then that would almost have been a good summary with a little real story sprinkled in between. The second season couldnt do anything better than the first and they even made the plot that tiny bit of plot actually more confusing and more annoying than
...
the previous one.
Again the art is the only good thing this anime has going for it.
Sound is as with the last nothing to write home about.
There are new characters and only this time they are half human half vampire which means its actually lets be friends but if you arent my friend we bite you alot of times. Main character keeps being boring and pathetic all the way through. She is made to be pretty and such but her insides exept her blood is so uninterestingly submissive it makes me moan.
I didnt enjoy this anime actually there were things i hoped for there were things i wanted but none of them came to be and to top it all of the anime just sucked the life straight out of me.
Overall 1 or 2 makes not much difference but the animation is getting its credits although everything else was boring and not remotely interesting. Again if you want a submissive girl getting sucked dry with not much about her going for then yes this is your anime. If you want an anime with a main character who is more than a sac of blood then move to another anime and dont look back. Im happy that i have watched this and previous season because then atleast i can give a warning to those that hopes to find a decent anime since i do know that there are those who walks into the door not heading any warning because of 1 the submissive girl getting bitten , 2 the guys in it.

If there ever was a vampire version of fifty shades of grey its almost as if this could be it and the very bad one.
The story is interesting at the start you learn a little about the main character and about how she is. And you learn about her vampire dominants and their dark story. Its bite upon bite upon bite in an endless series with some story chiped in cause they needed to let it look like an anime. So what i mean that the story is interesting is that the consepts they have were great the way they did it was appalling.
...
What i liked the best about this anime was the artwork. The way the eyes are showed in particular makes every character have great ones.
The sound is typical gothing vampire. Nothing to write home about.
Komori, Yui or the main main as i like to call characters who are the real main ones. She is naive , at times stupid but with an overly kind personality that comes from her being brought up in a church. Problem i have with her is that its basically bend over and take it from every vampire guy which prob makes alot of girls maybe even guys have nosebleed but i find it boring when someone is that submissive. In her case she have to be like that but i blame the creators for making such bad character development.
I wont write about every guy but i bet there is atleast one that will make a girl or guy drop and make her love that vampire there since their personality are all over the place. 1 has footfetish , one has a hand fetish while most of them bites her neck.
Did i enjoy this eh yes and no. I thought the beginning looked nice until i got deeper in and it got boring and uninteresting. And there were some bits and pieces i liked later.
Overall i could have given this a 2 if i wanted but i leaned more toward 3 cause the animation is going to get its credit due. If you like seeing a blond naive girl getting dominated and sucked dry by good looking vampires this is definitive the anime for you. But if you thought this anime was dark and filled with good story then stay away from this cause there is only some interesting stories and it would be better to just scim through the anime if you want the story. its basically 8 minutes of them dominating her through sucking her dry and 2 minutes of some sort of story coming through. I mean i know its based on a otome game but couldnt they used some creative freedom and made an anime that wasnt an endless repition of the same thing over and over and over again.

Interesting beginning but with bits and pieces that keeps annoying me as i go on.
So why would i say this as a starter. Well as a beginning i dont think the story is bad per say although it wont say its original either. A zeal that shouldnt be unlocked and so on so on. For me the story begun good enough it was a nice beginning and i felt like it was felt good going into it. Then as the story went i felt it started to get rushed or it felt like they just had to push every action scene imaginable as they went
...
on. Honestly it felt uninteresting at some point since you never got to enjoy the anime or the scenery that was drawn it was more like when were done with this lets rush to this place and so on although its only 12 episodes so i will give them a break for that since most short anime like this almost needs to be rushed i feel. As the story went on i felt myself get more irritated then exited for whats next. Since it was almost like you could guess what happened in the next episode easily and i felt boring.
The art was typical shoujo anime style which i honestly like and the sound was very forgetable to be honest beside some small beautiful pieces.
Kasuga, Tamaki is what i would call main main meaning she is above the rest as she is the center of attention per say. When i talk about this character my bias personality will come forth because this kind of main character is one of the worst types imo. Why because she is supposed to feel a great almost divine princess but end up being more useless than Sakura in the entire original Naruto series. She became a meat shield spouting idealistic thoughts without even thinking or reading up on what she talked about and frankly it was annoying to listen to.
The rest of her Harem if you want are typical in that they have their own types of personalities. Some of them are interesting kinda but some of them are so annoying or irritating that its hard to feel sympathy for their causes or thoughts.
Well i enjoyed it as a normal fantasy anime with a spice of reverse harem but to be frank its not an anime that leaves me with a big impression. it was normal and ok i mean it wasnt bad but it wasnt anything over either.
Overall this anime goes from 5 to 6 as i think but i still feel its a little better than just a 5 so i felt 6 is the only thing i should give it. If you like eye candy for girls = good looking guys and you want to feel like the main girl in the story then this anime might be for you (btw then i advice watching after the ending ) and if you generally like shoujo like anime. But if you want a fantasy anime or even reverse harem with a little more interesting parts in it i wouldnt really say that this is a go to watch anime.

An anime that i feel appreciate jazz in many ways atleast thats how i feel as i relax and watch it but with its bumps its not all rosy as i watch this.
The story is well created its not typical and since it focus on an earlier time and place when everything was different i would say that brings out something unique in that regards. This is best examplified with how some people behave or act since remember this anime is set in an older time there people had less choices in their life. I have two minds about this story as i have
...
watched this anime. On one hand i have the feelings of loving the flow but , on the other hand i only like the flow to a certain point in the anime. After the introduction episodes were done there we found out about most characters i felt they tried to pack too much drama into it and it became staggering how much you felt the story stopped and flowed as one watched it. It was kinda like a crack in a record that just kept staggering. And this is kinda why for me the anime at a point took what i felt was a melodramatic turn until it slowed and went into a nice pace again of a sort.
As with many musical anime its no wonder that in this case the music takes the highest marks because this anime gives from what i feel a great representation of jazz. Although there can always be more its a nice that there is an anime that manage to capture and make people like the genre just from having watched an anime.
So in this anime there is 3 main character which i can try to summarise my thoughts about.
Kawabuchi, Sentarou who is the typical delinquent who gets into fights with random people and is mostly feard by many due to his strenght. Hes a nice enough and likeable character in itself but he also is the typical dense character who doesnt realise how he feels many times and has to be told by his friend who has to try to steer him the right way. That dense character can sometimes get too much as with any character with that trait.
Nishimi, Kaoru is an introverted boy who has had to move alot around when he was young. Due to this he is made into at first being the typical boy who gets pushed into taking the mantle from his family and do what they/his aunt tell him to. Feels like a pushover but has a really outgoing personality and is fun to follow as you watch the anime and gets to know his thoughts and feelings. Although i would say in his case his drama can sometimes gets too much and it starts to get irritating.
Mukae, Ritsuko is a female who feels very much like the shy yet lovable character who one almost feel is a supportive one but as you move through the story one sees her as a true main and learn to feel with her or get irritated over her depending on your feelings.
I enjoyed this anime alot although there were things i wished could have been done better i really enjoyed how most of it went. I would recommend this anime to most people although some might say that the beginning is slow or that a character seems a little too boring and doesnt show enough i can almost promise that it will get better. Its great for those who want to enjoy music with a good story combined with some interesting characters that you will enjoy in your own ways.
Although i might praise it alot more i still feel that this anime for me is an 8. Why because i feel that it was being too dramatic for my taste. There was a certain point in it there i felt there was a good balance between the two but as the anime went further it went more and more on the melodrama and it annoyed me that i rarely got a moment to just enjoy the anime and music it had.

First impression of the anime is an arrogant character with a monkey tailing him confessing her love all over but as you get past that the beautiful music comes to light with a nice story and outshines all the annoyance.
The story is well made although in some ways it might feel like you have to go over the first wall and go through some episodes before you get the real feel for it. At least that was how i felt as i watched it. It has a good pace and doesn't try to drag something too long but at the same time it doesn't
...
try to rush things that shouldn't be rushed. Combined with the rich musical story that comes through as you hear about different pieces it makes you enjoy it even more. The story makes you want to know how far everything can get and makes you want to listen to the next piece of music that comes with it.
In this anime its not strange that the sound or music is what brings it up to the greatest height. Not only do we here one or two instruments but we here an entire orchestra filled great music from all kinds of composers. As i said earlier the story you get from some of the pieces adds to this and makes it even more enjoyable to listen to. And the music isn't always one or the other. Its an variation of all kinds from the most enjoyable to the saddest ones.
So to our main actors in this anime and First is Noda Megumi. At first some might be annoyed and think what am i even seeing but its her musical abilities and her sometimes interesting personality that makes it fun watching her as she aims around hoping to find out what she wants with her studies.
2nd is our male main character chiaki shinshi who at first sounds like a snob who things most people around him is either mediocre or just suck in general. Although in his case he got the talent and effort to back his words up although hes a weird character at times.
The combination of the two main characters is sometimes weird so if someone asks me what is even happening between those two then i frankly cant say one or the other. Although thats the first impression it gets better as both characters shows how they rely on the other although they might not do so on consciously. There is a hidden beauty in that relaitonship that is sometimes rare to find although somtimes it gets too much and i found myself irritated mostly at Noda or nodame but also at chiaki.
So for me this is a very classical anime in every sence of the word. Its not without flaws but the music and the well done serious and good sides keeps coming up whenever you feel you want to despair over the idiocy that this anime shows at times. I loved the music story , i loved the music so that made up for an anime that at times i was afraid was becoming a manzai ( comedy duo).
Overall i thought it was a very good anime but with flaws that crept up. Not only small flaws but flaws that almost made me want to not watch it. Example being as said earlier the stupidity of the main characters and sometimes feeling like i watch a circus performance for than a music anime intended to show classical music. Those reasons are why i gave it a 8. It leans on a 9er but its far away from in my opinion to be called a masterpiece. If your looking for an anime that has classical music in its almost purest form i highly recommend this anime although with its flaws its still an anime i would recommend to anyone with an interest in classical music. Just be ready that there will be times were you think if it gets too much then just remember the music that comes and it will be fine.
