Tsuki ga Kirei is a hidden gem that I think is under appreciated. I had never heard of this show until a few days ago when I saw it under a tearjerker category on Crunchyroll/VRV and it immediately caught my attention.
While I did not really find this show to be a tearjerker. It was still an amazing and enjoying watch. The story is very slow, and while this would normally be a huge turnoff for me... it added to adolescent and small scale story that it was going for. I did not like the original Fruits Basket. and watching this remake has me questioning why. Maybe it was the art work, the abrupt ending, or maybe I just was not in the mood for a shojo anime. I held off on watching this for awhile because of how bad I seem to remember the original being with me giving it a 4/10! However, I decided to give it another try and I was amazed at how truly good this story made me feel.
