This is a VERY fun manga to read, especially if you're a fan of Dorohedoro as it has many similarities. I'm writing this as of 31 chapters published (SPOILERS AHEAD, THIS JUST READS AS A STORY SUMMARY SO FAR)
The story of Ankoku Delta takes place in Delta, another dimension inhabited by Deltans which are comprised of aliens in the upper echelon that control Delta and the cyborg citizens. These cyborg citizens serve the purpose of extracting "life energy" from humans in order to preserve their dimension, which is actually overlapped with the human earth. Humans must exhibit negative emotions in order for their "life energy"
...
to be extracted by the Deltans, so Delta has been manipulating the human world by bestowing humans knowledge and creating the current society to breed such emotions throughout the worlds history. This can somewhat be related to Hole and the Magic User world in Dorohedoro.
The main protagonist, Aurora, is a cyborg who doesn't feel the gratitude of receiving life and trying to repay Delta, but is instead very interested in the human experience and their daily affairs. She visits the human world via a device known as a "body suit" which allows her to exist in the human dimension without harm and gets up to mischief, inadvertently drawing attention to the existence of aliens due to her odd behaviour. This makes for some really fun and absurd comedy.
Delta used to be split into two factions. The first faction hoped to cut down on their life energy usage and reduction of Delta's plans to expand their world. However, Nemesis, who led the other faction was strictly against this, resulting in a civil war in Delta. This war had consumed so much life energy that its effects even reached the human world, causing war there. In order to get ahead of the curve and win once and for all, the first faction of Delta created both military-grade citizens/cyborgs and military-grade body suits.
All begins to go south when a mysterious group of what I can only assume so far as Deltan cyborgs (hasn't actually been revealed yet what race they are) begin to rebel against Delta. Possessing military-grade body suits, they begin to cause chaos in the human world. They try to destroy the anchor that keeps the Delta dimension and the human world overlapped with each other so that Delta can survive, all for the sake of vengeance of their leader, Nemesis.
Ankoku Delta is full of a lot of action, absurdness, comedy and just a generally interesting story line. It is by no means a 10/10 or a 9/10, but it is in my honest opinion worth the read, ESPECIALLY if you love Dorohedoro. The art style is also somewhat reminiscent of Dorohedoro, however doesn't have the "grittiness" that Dorohedoro has, and is also on a weekly release schedule compared to Dorohedoro's monthly publication, so the art has to be a little generic at times.
So sorry if this is poorly structured or incoherent, this is my first ever review of something and I'm terrible at writing... I also no longer feel the energy to continue writing this review, so I'm cutting it short sorry!
