Bad Company is what all school life mangas are aspiring to be, but aren't. I mean, most of current school life mangas and anime are usually harems with loser main characters and little girls running aroind with their overly mature titties jiggling and squishing some lucky dude's face.
Bad Company is another one of Fujisawa Tohru's epics revolving around the one and only Eikichi Onizuka (if you have'nt heard that name, you must be too into shoujo mangas my friend) during his high school days. It was an amazing and entertaining blend of drama, ction, comedy and has that macho manly vibe to it. Its one
...
of the best school life mangas out there. Very good and worth your time.
The storyline is good because it has one key element in it : realisticness. Its more down to earth and you can actually relate it to the real world. Plus, it has a simple and interesting plot and is well thought out and creative.
The artwork is pretty much ok and it has Fujisawa Tohru's signature look to it. It makes the manga all the more realistic and it compliments each and every scene. It does have a few bugs here and there but it does not deter the quality of the manga.
Each character has his/her own personal trait that makes the distinguishable from the next. They are well thought out and have interesting personalities and physical appearance. They add more life to the manga making it all the more fun to read.
The enjoyment factor is ever the more present and the comedy factor is alright but a little cheesy at certain parts. The gore count is at a medium but the sexual explicity count is at a medium as peverted characters are aplenty (and so are peverted readers...).
In short, Bad Company is another masterpeice and it is a fun read. I reccomend it to shounen readers who wants a little bit more excitement or if you the feel of what a 90's school life manga was like. It is advisable you read Bad Company first then GTO. 9/10.

In short and miserable life I have encountered many, many animes and mangas that have superb artwork but shitty storylines. But all of that changed when I read Angel Densetsu.
When I first opened its pages, I dropped it in disgust as the artwork was terrible! But when I got the courage to open up and read the damn thing...it was actually pretty good. I mean it. Despite the fact that I had to hold in my barf and read it, it was actually enjoyable.
The storyline is episodic but it was not bad. It was kind of like Toradora! but in a more sadder and
...
patheticly drawn kind of way. Without the romance of course. It is good and has that school life flair to it.
The artwork simply dreadful and I mean lower than Samurai Champloo (guess there are some things that are that bad in this world). I had to resist the urge to puke my f*cking insides all over the floor while reading it. Although you could get a vauge idea on what was going on, it was still shit. Kinda like wiping your glasses with diarrhea and looking at the world. Dreadful.
The characters on the other hand represent your normal school life characters. The only thing that seperates it from a regular school life manga would be the main character, a hideously deformed (not because of the artwork), misunderstood student with a heart of gold. The others would just represent your regular teachers, students, gangsters and the like.
The enjoyment factor depends on how much the art bugs you but the comedy factor is good and makes the comic better. The gore count is low and so is the sexual explicity count making it readable to almost every type of reader (unless you are picky about the artwork like me or is just a Goddamned art critic).
In short, Angel Densetsu is just another one of those mangas that are funny and is good to read...with a major cosmetic problem. Kinda like [ censor ] and [another censor]. 8/10.

My first reaction to Ultimate!! Hentai Kamen was this : "Is is like...porn or something?" because my first impression of it was one of those pornographic Kamen Rider doujinishi you could find on Fakku (don't ask me how I know, it was just a phase I was going trough). Surprisingly, Ultimate!! Hentai Kamen was far from that, althought containing a small fragment of sexual content, it was something I could read without putting my hand in my pants or vomitting.
Ultimate!! Hentai Kamen represents one of those mangas I actually enjoy reading and was worth my time. It was like reading Family Guy but in a
...
more Japanese, sexually related, superhero like way. Truly remarkable and f*cking funny.
The thing is, Ultimate!! Hentai Kamen was a little like those mangas that is kinda episodic and has no direction. All you need to know is that the main character gets his powers by putting on a pair of panties and has those really long-named, penis related finishing moves.
The artwork is bearable but nothing too special about it. Kinda like your average manga. It is not as shitty as the Samurai Champloo manga but nothing too special either. Just normal.
The characters in the other hand represent your classic school life characters with a few more additonal features added to them making them unique and one of a kind. Hey, just name me one manga that has a mother that owns a boutiqe and works part time as a S&M mistress.
The enjoyment factor is at a maximum as the comedy factor is strong as well. It will have you shitting your pants laughing and you will enjoy it more if you are a pervert yourself (you sick bastard...). The violence count is at a minimum and surprisingly, a medium level sexual explicity count (shounen readers, rejoice!!!).
In short, Ultimate!! Hentai Kamen is a comedic masterpeice that although lacking in story, proves itself in the comedy factor. A good read for those who want to releive stress and have a really good laugh. 9/10.

A survival game involving handphonnes and diaries? Well then, mine would only be useful for telling cup sizes of women I'm about to meet, nothing more.
So, Mirai Nikki. This is in fact another one of those animes which I sincerely enjoyed. I mean the concept if it is amazing and it somehow correlates with the real world. Don't believe me? Smash that smartphone of yours and see if you can survive. Dickhead.
Aaanyway, Mirai Nikki presents an interesting and well thought out storyline. Its never boring and it has that mysterious vibe that keeps it going and peaks the audiences' curiosity. It also has an intersting
...
script.
The art and visual effects make this anime all the more better with their creative dynamic lighting and light ambience. This make Mirai Nikki all the more fun to watch.
The sounds and ambience on the other hand always fit the scene and is never annoying to listen to. Although it is not as wow as Guilty Crown, its something.
Ah, the plus point and minus point of this anime on the other hand would be the characters. Mirai Nikki features interesting and unique characters, each set with their own special personality and that makes them one of a kind and not like your typical anime characters. BUT there are certain characters which make me sick and on the top of my hate list would be Amano Yukiteru, the main character. The dude is a f*cking crybaby and it makes you wanna kick him in the balls....IF HE HAS THEM! Next would be the yandere charecteristics of two of the characters and that really bugs me. But other than that, its all good.
The enjoyment factor is there and this anime has managed to become succesful even without a comedy factor. Good show! The violence factor is at a medium level and the fan service is at a minimal level (unless you like fapping to pink haired school girls in bikinis, you sick bastard).
In short Mirai Nikki is a good anime to watch and is also a worthwhile one. Suitable for teens and adult or the like. 8/10.

To be honest I never understood what was going on in the first place. An epidemic happens in Japan and the rest of the world comes in to confide "peace" and don't feel like leaving. Bad guys butchering innocents, then the main character comes in and there I was, sitting there thinking about Busujima's boobs wondering what the heck is going on.
As I have mentioned earlier, the story is complex. I had to rewind a single episode many times just to get a small fragment of what's going on. What I do know is that its sad and is mostly a tragedy. And I was
...
extremely sad and nearly cried...
The plus points would be the art. Even though the story was rubbish, the artwork and visual graphics were astounding and it was kind if like CGI porn instead of an anime.
The sounds and beats were also marvelous and astounding. It was so beautiful that I would rewind a certain part just to listen to the music. And rewind it again at a later time to understand the story.
An then there's the characters. This is the type of anime where the main character is whiny and should be beaten to death with a stick by another more eligible protagonist. Characters like these are terrible and downgrade the story. But there were a few good ones and for these characters, I give them merit badges. And cookies.
The enjoyment count is as low as it gets and the comedy is factor is a zero. The violence count is at a medium level and it was just sad.
In short the creators if Guilty Crown wanted to make it sad and emotional. Its just another one of those sad anime that have many plus points but is overshadowed by a poor storyline. 2/10.

Soul Eater is unique in its own way and it propels you into this bizzare and crazy world which is super cool and unique. One of the things I like about said universe would be the moon that looks like its on cocaine and the sun which pretty much looks like my idiot friend. Weird.
The main factor this manga is dragged down is the storyline. The beginning was great but as the story progressed it gets complicating and if you miss one part, you'd have to go back and read it from the beginning again and that sucks. It was also lacking in many parts
...
which I wished could be fixed.
The plus side to the story is the characters. Each one of them has one or many unique characteristic that is original and not cliché. It was these characters that gave me the willpower and bravery to finish the manga.
The artwork would be at an average. Nothing too special about it. And it is boring and stoic at certain parts.
The enjoyment factor is there but it is kinda foggy as the manga tends to get boring at certain parts. The comedy factor seems stale as it is brought down by the even stale plot. Considering it being a shounen manga, the violence count is pretty low.
6/10.

My first reaction to Dorohedoro is "What the f*ck, a woman wrote this?". It has to be one of the most strangest, creative, unique and awesome mangas I have read in my short life. It combines the gloominess of a normal seinen manga and has the traditional qualities of blood and gore, violence and sexual explicity.
To be honest I hated the artwork to start with. It was so strange and creepy to look at. But as you read on, you get absorbed into Hayashida's fictional world and in due time, you will feel the need to read more.
The story line is well made and it
...
has an interesting plot which continually changes but never deterring the reader. It combines the proper elements of mystery, action, comedy and tragedy into one awesome power-packed package.
The characterization is unique as well seeing that these are not you're average characters. Each character has a story to tell and is almost lifelike. Even the ugly ones are beautiful in theor own way. They add flavour to the story and contributes to each event personally.
The artwork is especially unique and if you have a think for gloomy and Satanic artwork, you will definitely love it. It brings out the feeling in each scene and makes the world seem almost lifelike.
The enjoyment factor is at its maximum and the comedy factor is there as well, kinda enjoyable. The gore count is at a maximum though and the sexually explicit count is at a medium level thus creating a normal seinen manga. Its mostly for mature readers.
In short, Dorohedoro has that wonderful and violent seinen manga vibe and is truly a great read. 9/10.

It happened so fast that my cynical mind had to pause to think for a fitting review. Burning Hell might be short, but it truly had somewhat of a thing going on there.
It tells a tale of an overpowered main character with a mental problem who's good with a sword with a taste for human flesh (uhuh...we need more characters like that) who us sent to a prison island and meets up with another overpowred main character with a mental problem with a fetish for skinning humans. Who is a female.
The story is alright and original in its own way although we have seen several
...
mangas where the two protagonists try to mutilate each other and barbecue the loser over a spit. But it has its own personal flair to it and is also not complicated and fun to read if you like the whole, slicey-dicey thing.
A vast majority of the characters represent a cliché bunch of the usual psychotic and super strong main character, asshole bad guy with an ugly face, the asshole bad guy's
boss with an even uglier face and the sad little mother f*cker who dies in the beginning because of his stupidity. Its safe to say, the only unique character would be Kim Han, the other psychotic protaganist who's a female.
The artwork is alright and it gives the manga its violent and ruthless nature. And it does a pretty great job too (skinless human bodies never looked so artistic).
The enjoyment factor is there and the comedy factor is alright too, considering how strange there is a comedy factor in the first place. The gore count is a solid 9 on the listBur and the sexually explicit count is zero (so if you like blood and not boobs, you're in luck!).
In short Burning Hell is a fun read and its one of those mangas that make you curse the mangaka for not making it longer. 7/10

Ah Zetman... Another one of your traditional seinin mangas that combine gore, death, and sexual explicity into one ghastly package. It was an ok manga...until you reach the one part where [ SENTENCE IS BLOCKED DUE TO SPOILER ] of course... Eeeeuh that part made me puke.
So Zetman. It features a unique and different take of a superhero and also a gloomy one (kinda like Batman).
The storyline is great and is full of mysterious parts which keeps the reader guessing what's gonna happen next. It truly is a masterpeice as it presents a story which is different
...
in its take and is very sci-fi. Kinda like Guilty Crown but in a less shitty, more f*cked up kinda way.
The characters are unique too as they represent a more unique and different bunch although they do remind me of Batman characters somehow...
Its a pretty radical story and most of it is full of mystery with a light touch of comedy and a spoonful of tragedy.
The problem here is that it is meant for mature readers and certain parts may be very disturbing. It has sexually explicit parts and being a seinen, lots of gore. So if you don't want your child to grow up to be Charles Lee Ray, keep it away from him.
In short Zetman is a wonderful and beautifully illustrated masterpeice but is a little too much for me. It is mainly for mature readers and younger readers are advised to stay away from it. 8/10.

Let's see...so you are telling me that there is this secret programme in Japan training teachers in the art of kicking ass and sending them to problematic schools to teach their bad students while hiding the teacher's identity? Please tell me how this will make a good manga? But whatever magic Fujisawa Tohru did, it worked!
I've read a few Kamen Rider mangas in the past so the concept is pretty much the same. Intead of a Masked Rider kicking mosters in the head and making them repent, this time its a Masked TEACHER kicking STUDENTS in the head and teaching them discipline. And its not
...
that bad actually.
The storyline is ok. Kinda average. Simple, not complicated and has a lot of punchy-punchy and kicky-kicky moments. Actually the whole story is driven by punching and kicking. Fast paced and full of action would be an accurate description.
The characters in the other hand are somewhat different although they consist of the typical action, seinen, school life characterization. But yeah...they're alright.
The artwork is nice and it has that badass, shit's-gonna-go-down kinda vibe. Its well drawn and is nice to look at. Pretty impresive.
The enjoyment factor is there and it will appeal to most shounen or seinen readers (if you like punching things, you'll love it). The comedy factor is stale though. There are a few funny parts here and there but they aren't anything worth shitting your pants laughing about. It also has zero gore and zero sexual content (so you goody goody two shoes got lucky).
In short Kamen Teacher is good but not epic. 7/10.
