BNA is the story of a fish out of water who moves into a bustling metropolis filled with animals where allegories for racism are rampant and she quickly learns that her idealized, optimistic outlook on the city is not as true as she thought, and teams up with a canine in order to deal with a government conspiracy involving a drug that affects the animals.
In other words; Studio Trigger is pretty much ripping off Zootopia because they think they're bigshots now. Like honestly the number of parallels between the two is staggering. Hell, the series even features a character who's a major celebrity idol, it's
...
like they weren't even trying to be subtle here. Then again it's not exactly like Trigger is the master of subtlety.
The artstyle is amazing and the music is great, but that's honestly a given with a show like this. The show itself however is kind of 'meh'. Honestly there are a lot of plot elements that feel completely pulled out of nowhere, and it sucks to see that the plot and world feel more like a "mature" and "gritty" version of zootopia than it's own thing. Still, I have to commend the show for tackling a topic most anime probably don't have the balls to do.
Ultimately BNA is harmless enough but you could do far better.

“A whisker away” is a purrrrr-fectly a-meow-zing little film.
All painful puns aside, yeah, it actually is a pretty good movie. Certainly worth a watch. In the right spots it really reminded me of some studio ghibli films, especially in the second half, where the really fantastic elements begin coming out full force.
The animation is pretty spot on, and the music is nice as well. Admittedly the writing at times was a bit shoddy, and the plot revolving around middle school kids acting like annoying kids did turn me off a bit at first, but it’s still a great movie and once I got into
...
the flow of it I was really loving and enjoying the whole thing! It’s an enjoyable movie with some dramatic elements and a nice story, even if a bit generic

Wandering son is a beautiful story about transgender identity told through the eyes of an adolescent on the cusp of puberty. It’s tear jerking, emotional and tender.
The story is was admittedly a bit hard for me to follow but it was rather good. The characters were written in a way I thought was relatively realistic as well. The show stars Nitori, a trans girl, and Takatsuki, who is likely a trans boy (though being a deuteragonist their gender identity is somewhat less unclear) and the struggling journey they go through with gender identity crisis, puberty and middle school. It’s a rather comfy show with a
...
nice art style, and despite being a drama, it manages to avoid any situation that feels comically over the top. It’s a very sweet show.
Admittedly though it’s not perfect. I got pretty bored while watching it, and even fell asleep partway thru. Of course I powered on to the end (since I have like 100 shows on my backlog) but in hindsight binging the whole thing was not a good idea.
I’ll admit, I’m probably just getting burnt out on anime. I mean I watched 3 whole shows within the past week, so my brain is probably overloaded and it’ll take a while before i encounter another really good one. Being burned out (and watching in the early morning on a full belly of junk food) might have skewed my opinion and ability to focus on the show just a bit (that and VRV being Garbo)
Buuuuuuut I digress. This show is great, and if you’re a transitional egg you should watch it. Especially since it’s like one of the few anime to actually star a trans character in a main role and not a trap (if you beleive those two are separate things)

Citrus is an absolute garbage fire of a cartoon.
That being said, I did enjoy it in spite of that. It was at least good enough to make me elicit emotions beyond cringe.
Despite what most people think, I honestly don’t really consider this an overly smutty or horny anime. Mostly because there actually isn’t much fan service. Honestly the whole show seems more like some melodramatic daytime soap opera than anything. It isn’t really a “fluffy” or “wholesome” yuri the same way some of the other ones I’ve watched are, but it’s fine I guess.
The protagonist Yuzu is a decent one, but sadly the love-interest/Deuteragonist Mei
...
is a bit..... flat (not a boob joke I swear). Mei’s basically the stereotypical ice queen character who expresses very little and doesn’t open up about her feelings, combined with that Yuri trope where the deuteragonistic love interest is a dark-haired girl with excessive emotional baggage from their past. Some of the other characters though, are kind of gonna get a “yikes” from me. Namely the MIDDLE SCHOOLER. like seriously, there’s a middle schooler character who’s a dead ringer for Miku from 5toubun (seriously, similar hairstyle and eye color, hair color similar too, wears headphones) who is one of the antagonists and she is just.... YIKES. She does some really questionable stuff. There’s also a girl with twin tails and they give her big eyebrows so the audience can tell she’s not supposed to be likable.
The story is rather overt in just how dramatic and depressing it wants to be. Like there’s just a ton of conflict, and it can be a bit much.
One issue I do have is how the show, despite being a depressing drama about stepsisters, constantly uses those typical anime sparkles/chibi/moe expressions like super deformed. It’s funny, but it doesn’t gel with the down-to-earth feel of the rest of the show, and can be a bit of a mood whiplash. Ffs, there’s literally one character who exists solely for a gag with Yuzu being late who has a giant hairstyle like a mushroom, and she only appears once at the beginning and one more time near the end.
Ultimately I’d say citrus is.... fine I guess. Just not something everyone can enjoy. And there’s a lot of moments that are just... Absolutely yikes.

Now with a title like “is it wrong to pick up girls in a dungeon” you might expect some lighthearted romantic/harem comedy buuuuut that’s not really what you get. Nope, it’s actually a somewhat dramatic and serious story at times.
The story stars Bell Credel (somebody really thought that was a brilliant name) a teen simp. He’s a white haired knight white-knighting the white knight, a lady known as Ais. His entire goal in the show is motivated by what a pure simp he is.
....or at least, that’s what it starts off being about. At around maybe halfway through, the show stops really focusing on that,
...
which you think would be nice, but no, it just makes Bell into a rather flat and dull character who’s blander than starched carbohydrates. Really his ability to simp Ais might be the only time he’s ever showing a personality beyond generic “heroic justice”. Not exactly helping are his “powers”, which include the ability to have infinite double XP outside of weekends and mtn dew bottles, and an ability that might as well have been named “Deus ex machina” since it’s basically that.
Really the main star of the show here is Hestia, she’s probably got the most personality out of any of the main cast, and that isn’t just a dumb joke about her massive chest. She’s very lively and probably the most entertaining character with her antics, even if she is kind of a generic tsundere/clingy girl trope. Regardless, hestia is the bestia part of this show.
Along for the ride is Bell’s supporter, Lily, a little girl who’s past is so tragic that it borders on ludicrous just how depressing they make it, and honestly her backstory involves her getting kicked around by society so much I’m surprised she didn’t just put on clown makeup and start a gamer revolution with how much the character was getting beat by society. Like jesus, I know they want us to feel bad for her, but they tried too hard.
Welf Crozzo is probably the 2nd best character behind Hestia. Despite coming into the story after more than halfway, he still has one of the best arcs in the show, plus he’s got a great personality and he’s totally Bell’s best bro.
And it really sucks cause the series ends with a really good episode, but most of the episodes are honestly kind of.... meh. Then again, it might just be my fault for marathoning the whole damn thing after midnight. Either way it really deserved more than just 13 episodes, since that didn’t really befit a show that clearly wanted to worldbuild but lacked the space and time for it.
The premise for this show is ludicrous beyond words, and not just because the protagonist is a SIMP. I mean for god’s sake, even before the FIRST EPISODE, the dude already has a beautiful woman, and by the end he might as well have a harem considering he has at least like 4 people crushing on him at that point. Like the dude has so many choices yet he keeps throwing his life on the line because of one blonde woman who saved him?! Yeah.... he’s a total simp.
The music was..... honestly I don’t remember the music, and even the op and Ed were kinda unremarkable. The art was good, but it is a bit marred from the liberal usage of CGI as a crutch to fill in backgrounds with characters like McDonald’s filling in McNuggets with pink slime.
Overall IIWTPUGIAD is not my cup of tea, but I might look at the 2nd season if it manages to be slightly better.
Oh and yes, the toothpaste scene is 10/10 kino.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go to bed, because it’s SIX IN THE MORNING and I think I have a problem

Kase-San and Morning glories is a beautiful (albeit short) movie about yuri romance (the best kind, no doubt). While Kase-San is the titular character, the protagonist is definitely her lover, Yamada. They have a nice chemistry going on. I'll admit, this movie did a good job with it's romance, making my heart beat afflutter and giving me goosebumps from the tender romance. The soundtrack is lovely as well, with nice ending song. The art is pretty great and beautiful (even if it uses so many lens flares it puts JJ Abrams to shame).
The story, surprisingly, starts with Kase and Yamada already dating, which is definitely
...
a fresh change from all the "will they won't they" stories which only show the characters kissing or getting together in the very end. It instead deals with how they handle their relationships. I'm not sure if the manga did the same thing but regardless, I dig it. Seeing characters who are already in a relationship as the protagonists of a romance story is something we need more of, and for the most part it's really nice, a slow burning beauty.
Whaaaaaaat absolutely kills it for me though, is the entirety of the conflict in the final act. I won't get into details because common courtesy, but it's honestly a relatively archaic idea that honestly seems pretty outdated and a bit silly given the existence of things like internet messaging and whatnot. Also their use of that infamous train station trope was..... kind of making me cringe to the point where my face felt like it was shrinking back into my head. Like the rest of the movie was relatively grounded and reasonable, but that one final moment kinda felt dumb. Honestly I think I prefer Bloom into You over this mainly because it never had any sort of big, grand, over-the-top gesture moments like the climax of this movie did. But aside from that part, they're both pretty equal to me in terms of enjoyment. Like honestly, I don't think I'd throw my whole life away just for a relationship. Honestly, in the age where online relationships through discord and texting has become more common and actually possibly can lead to successful(?) marriages, it just seems even more moronic that the conflict even exists, let alone how Kase and Yamada respectively resolve it. Thankfully it's not that much of the film, so it isn't too much of a gamebreaker for me at least, but it's still making me dock a point from the film for that end alone.
Regardless, it's still sweet nontheless, and I loved this movie. It's just that the ending kind of was something any human being who's been in an actual relationship might cringe at. Ending aside, it's a beautiful experience that you should watch, if you can stomach terrible romantic cliches from an archaic age before humans invented the web.
EDIT: I have come back after reading the manga (yes I read the entire manga in the 5 hours after finishing the OVA because I’m that pathetic) and lemme say; the manga honestly does a lot of things better. Most namely the handling of the scene that was the ending of the OVA (i meant its still corny, just slightly less so). Plus it ends on a much better note, continuing for at least 10 chapters after that one. Do read the manga, since I think the OVA condensed too much stuff.

A really fun and entertaining romp through a generic fantasy world through an original concept, slime isekai manages to be heartfelt, amusing, tearjerkingly emotional and action packed all at the same time. The characters, while sometimes one-dimensional, are rather endearing and memorable. The soundtrack for this anime absolutely slaps, and both OPs and EDs are real bangers.
One aspect I really enjoyed was how much the series actually got into networking, politics, trade and education, showing how Rimuru's networking skills are the source of his massive influence, and how he handles diplomacy. Of course, there is still plenty of that good old shonen-action fighting and
...
delicious fanservice, and it is indeed rather great.
If I did have a few complaints, it might be the liberal use of cgi in certain areas, and how sometimes the art style was a bit ridiculous or wonky, and how, again, the characters could be a bit too revolved around their various quirks and tics (like the busty ogre). But still, that isn't the worst thing ever.
The comedy in this show is pretty darn spot on, there is a lot of great writing that keeps me laughing hard from just how good it is, they use a lot of entertaining banter between Rimuru and the other characters and it's so funny to see the lingo he spits out. The show also can have some amusing physical gags as well.
Overall I would say Im pretty satisfied with the show. It ended on a good note that is rather satisfying while also leaving things open for that sequel hook. Admitedly I do find the Denouement episode following the final episode a bit unneccesary (especially with how beautiful the ending the episode 23 was) but hey, more episodes is always better, and it was relatively decent.
Anyways Im hyped AF for season 2 to come out, even if its going to take an eternity because some guy just had to eat some critter. Ah well, time to watch the OVAs for this show.

It. Was.. fine I guess. Ngl I just feel rather underwhelmed because this ova didn’t feel like it had much substance. Still, if I can give it any credit, most studios don’t usually give us any new content from a series years after it already ended. Maybe this was supposed to transition into a potential 2nd season, but eh. The animation was nice, the reference to the super crown was hilarious but that aside this OVA was rather dull. If you were a fan of Neptunia and this was the first episode you’d seen in 5 years, you’d probably be majorly disappointed. There’s not much
...
conflict, the stakes are pretty low, it’s just dull.
Also Neptune herself doesn’t get much screen tine in this special allegedly about Neptunia. It’s mostly relegated to her taller, Long haired AU counterpart. Plus, the climax of the episode (where any action really happens) wasn’t all that intense.

A beautiful story of adolescence and learning to grow up and understand love, Bloom Into You is a beautiful 45-chapter delight that includes many heartfelt emotions that made my heart throb and made me want to cry. It’s such a beautiful story, and finishing it has left me very satisfied. Though it pains me that the story could not last longer, I’m glad it ended on the highest note.
If you can, definitely give this a read and try to support the official release, because this manga is truly, a work of art. There’s so many elements of the story that I truly enjoy, and
...
these characters are incredibly human in portrayal. Many, even the side characters, have multiple dimensions to them, and while the story primarily focuses on Yuu and Touko, the author does shine light on the others as well. Overall, I think this has to be one of my favorite mangas I’ve ever read. It was a great time from start to end. The heartwarming romance made my heart pound fast and strong, it made me feel tenderness and vulnerability, the good kind of feeling that you want to experience when a story tries to touch your heart gracefully. Honestly, while I can’t speak for myself, I do know that this manga will be a life changing experience for at least several otaku and weeb out there in the world. I loved every chapter from beginning to end... though I may wait a while before rereading because this story is truly powerful.

A beautiful, slow burn, “Bloom into You” is a story about the relationship between two young women as they tackle the challenges of life and adolescence. It’s a quiet show full of intimacy, and it left me with a very nice feeling. I felt like my heart grew heavy, and gooosebumps were forming during some of the emotional moments of the show, that I felt like I was tingling from my emotional investment into it. In some parts I was on the verge of tears from some expert animation and writing. The show uses a lot of symbolism and it’s not afraid to be overt
...
with it. The opening theme is a work of beauty too. The beauty of the relationship between Yuu and Touko was really gripping, and their interactions sometimes made my heartbeat go crazy from how invested I got. Seeing how they learn to grow closer really gave me such a rush of joy... though I will admit I wish the season had more content so we could see their relationship develop further. Oh well, at least I got the manga.
I just wish for more of this show, but if that’s really my only major gripe, then it likely did a good job, leaving me wanting more. Sadly it seems chances are low this show will ever get an OVA, and second season is practically just a pipe dream now that the manga has concluded. Regardless, it has given me great impetus to check out the original manga and finish the story, and if an anime can convince me to check out the source material purely out of desire to find out how it all plays out, then it did succeed.
I believe bloom into you was a beautiful experience, and hopefully the manga can be just as amazing.
