Season 1 was a great season. Likable characters, amazing story, nice character development and a nice world building in Ultra-verse all around. So what was the problem? Well the animation was garbage. The CG makes the likes of Arifureta s1 look like a masterpiece in comparison. Yeah S1’s CG was pretty bad which badly impacted which of which was otherwise a pretty great series. So what does s2 have in store? Let’s find out


Pros:
-I liked the latest character, Kotaro Higashi… He is pretty much a journalist that discovered the disappearance of the people in America. He didn’t have much substance in the earlier episodes; ... it was thanks to him that the SSSP realized who was responsible for said disappearance. His character truly shined for me when he became a monster for revenge for his girlfriend, Izumi. Eventually he becomes similar to Shinjiro during the earlier episode, a greenhorn with ambitions to save the world. Usually, this type of behavior would be nothing more than platitudes. But in his case, it’s pretty decent. We see his naivety like his despair cause he couldn’t save his girlfriend to the point he decarded his name to his Ultra name (Taro)

-This arc focused more on the other characters. For one thing, Jack… he didn’t do much (if any) in s1, but in s2 we truly see what he can do. It was thanks to him that Kotaro was able to control his fire power via the Ultra suit. I was kinda glad that we got to see more of him. Dan, I didn’t like him at first. He was brooding aloof and a bit of a prick. But after awhile you know he becomes more open minded, when he was accepting towards the newest character very early. His fight towards one Alien Pendants general, Alien Bell… this was his best moment. As for Souji, he was okay. He didn't do much other than save Shinjiro. And his badass fight with Alien Llubihic.


-Might as well bring out the Alien in the closet. The CG improved by a very large margin. The animation looks so realistic. The motion doesn’t look as stiff compared to s1. And the lighting also improved as well. I mean what else is there to say.



Cons:

-The story, I’ll be honest about this arc. This arc is really underwhelming. It’s just an Alien wanting to rule the earth… or at least half the earth in his book. Speaking of him, Pendant is just so damn generic. Then again this is a Ultra series, most villains are gonna have cartoonish plans. Even his methods kinda seemed cliched, capturing Ultraman for ransom for his plans.

-I don’t like the Waardan alien crew. I mean they aren’t bad, but they are sadly underdeveloped. I mean their reason for capturing the humans was understandable, but at the same token there wasn’t any depth into it onto why they had to follow Pendant’s plan. Maaya was an okay character, but the problem is that when she does ONE good thing, she dies.



Overall, Ultraman s2 was a grand improvement in contrast to s1. However, I forgot to mention it came with a double edged sword. We get good animation/CG, the episode count gets cut. Unfortunately, the next season of Ultraman will be the final season. Most likely the final season will have an anime original ending. Do I recommend s2? Of course, I mean s1 might not be the best in animation but aside from that s1 was amazing.

Story (1)
I only give it a 1 because 0/10 doesn't exist on MAL. My reason why is well... IT DOES EVEN HAVE ONE ANYWAY. All it comes down to is either A. Izumi gets aroused and visualize the girl naked. or B. Have some more ecchi jokes and that's all there's to it. The whole purpose of the series was to establish a relationship with Ui and Izumi. They barely ever do that outside of the ecchiness that goes on there. I'll admit they did great things when comes to ecchi, but they fail at every thing ... else. To add to injury, they made this into threesome adding Rin. Then adding more girls that amount to anything.

Character (2)
The only thing makes me prevent it from giving it a 1 is having attractive girls in the show and... that's it. No personality, no flair, no reason to relate to them. NOTHING! They are just there For Academic Purposes... nothing else. The Girls look good but their personality is generic as heck. And as for our MC, well he's became worse than he was in season 1.

Art (7)
The only thing I will give some positivity for the show. They make the girls look greater and better than season 1. The girls look beautiful naked (if only I could care about these characters) Lastly, I think the art improved compared to season 1 imo.

Sound (3)
It's really nothing special. I normally don't listen to anime OP and ED since their not my style (unless they are really good) so I judge this by their OST and honestly their nothing for me to say that is interesting about the OST it's just generic as they come.

I like ecchi, I really do but I want to see it while establishing a great, consistent story. Okusama may deliver when it comes to ecchi but fails with story. If you wanna see a ecchi series while having a nice story and good romance I suggest you avoid this show and watch Freezing (despite being a battle harem it does so more results) otherwise watch Hentai cause that's how the show feels like at the end of the day.

This season is really underrated

Story (6)
This whole premise is about an organization known as DATS who capture wild digimon and take them to the Digital World. For the first third of the season starts out bland and just your typical "MOW" (Monster of the week) formula, by episode 13. You finally could take the show seriously the second third of season just focus on their exploration of the Digital World and we found out more on how Digimon is roaming into the human world and meet our antagonist of the show, Karata. He plans to whipe out all the Digimon with his man made Digimon ... known as Gizumon. The Gizumon comes from Digimon DNA except he doesn't have a heart. His plot were actually totally devious. Now the third half is where they jumped the shark. Honestly the King Drasil (mind you I watched the dub) Arc was quite boring. Granted, it was okay that we get to know more about Kudamon and we find out that he's was a Royal Knight by his Mega Level Kentarosmon. But aside from that I wasn't amazed from this Arc. That where Data Squad (Savers) suffered.

Characters (9)
Each character pretty much developed alot. Marcus started off as a reckless jerk with no type of common sense. But later on he realizes that he can't just rely on his fist all the time. Thomas started as a douchebag by just being a smartass. But he gets much nicer at later on. He even had to trick his friends just to save his own sister. I can't say much about Yoshi except she becomes more friendly.. But that's it. Now Keenan had the most. He started as a kid who hated Digimon we soon realizes their was a reason to it. His Digi-mother Frigimon was killef by Gizumon. Merucimon and Marcus convinces him that human aren't bad. At the end of the day, Keenan becomes more forgiving to humans except Karata.

Art (6):
The animation aren't that bad. The CGI in the evolution sequences weren't bad.

Music (5):
When watching the dub the sounds are so generic asf.
