The anime successfully fulfills its goal of being both funny and engaging. While not all of the subplots managed to hold my attention, the humor worked most of the time, making it enjoyable overall. It avoids being repetitive, and the characters are charming, with the toucan standing out as particularly entertaining. Despite being only 12 episodes long, the cast is surprisingly memorable for such a short series.
I found myself laughing several times, and I would recommend this lighthearted yet well-crafted anime. One of its standout features is the animation, which, though unconventional and "odd" at first glance, perfectly complements the anime's unique style and
...
tone. My final verdict is a solid 7.

This is a cute, light, and fun anime with a good dose of humor and side characters who are funny and charismatic enough to easily win you over. However, the same can't be said for the two protagonists, who are so bland that it's hard to connect with them; they have the charisma of a refrigerator. This ends up being a negative point, especially for those coming into the series expecting an engaging romance.
If your intention is to watch the anime for the romance, you might want to reconsider, as it follows the cliché of many other anime in the genre: a lot of build-up
...
with no real payoff. It’s the classic "all talk, no action," which can be quite frustrating for viewers looking for something more meaningful or with actual development in the main characters' relationship.
That said, the anime has its merits. Most of the episodes are lighthearted and enjoyable to watch, mainly because of the interactions between the supporting characters. The highlight is definitely Sakaki and Mayoi, whose chemistry is both refreshing and entertaining. Their scenes are hilarious and provide most of the laughs throughout the series.
Overall, it's an average anime that could have done a better job with its romance and main characters but still delivers enjoyable moments thanks to its supporting cast. Score: 6.

This is more than just a good ending for a slice of life anime with cute little girls. It holds a deep emotional attachment for me because it was the anime that fully introduced me to the world of anime. I’ll miss this incredible group and all the moments I spent watching it.
My only complaint is that the film’s pace is very fast, accelerated to fit the "necessary" in just an hour and fifteen minutes. Many chapters were adapted, and some even skipped, which made the development feel rushed. The secondary characters end up being underutilized, almost like decoration, without playing a significant role in
...
the story. For those who want a complete experience, I recommend reading the manga, where everything is told at the proper pace, and all characters get their deserved attention.
Even so, the story is still very good and delightful to watch, keeping you hooked from start to finish. For sure, I’ll give this magnificent work called *Kiniro Mosaic* an "AYAYA~" — I mean, an 8.
See you next time! *I cried writing this reference.*

It brought a notable change to the anime's visual style, a result of the time jump between 2012 and 2017.
The animation style was unfortunately modernized.
However, these visual improvements were not enough to offset the episode's narrative and direction choices, which took a rather controversial and disappointing turn.
This final episode drastically departed from the cute and innocent tone that characterized the original series.
Instead of delivering a conclusion that was faithful to the light and relaxed spirit that fans loved, the episode was marked by exaggerated and uncomfortable fan service.
The sexualized scenes, with repetitive zooms on the girls' thighs and angles that emphasized body parts inappropriately, gave
...
the content a disrespectful tone.
This focus on eroticization was even more problematic, considering that the characters are students, which makes the scenes even more disturbing for the audience that followed the series for its lightness.
During the end credits, the discomfort is heightened by the characters striking erotic poses, reinforcing fan service as the main element of this episode.
This creates a complete disconnect with the previous tone of the series, which until then had been centered on cuteness, friendships, and funny and innocent everyday situations.
The episode fails to offer any emotional depth or meaningful continuity, feeling like an effort to attract attention through sexualized content, which is completely unnecessary for the context of the work.
Although this episode is not part of the main narrative, it was promoted as a conclusion to the series, which intensified the feeling of frustration among fans.
The contrast with the 2012 ending, which was charming and respectful of the anime's tone, is stark.
While the previous ending was sweet, full of emotion, and perfectly captured the spirit of the work, this 2017 ending was generic and disrespectful.
Not only did it diminish the sentimental value that the series had built up over the years, it also tarnished the reputation of an anime that was beloved precisely for its simplicity and innocence.
The decision to include this sexualized content is seen by many as a "crime" against the essence of the anime, as it completely distorted what the series stood for.
The result was an ending that failed to honor the characters' and story's journey, turning something that should have been affectionate and emotional into an unnecessary and offensive display of fan service.
For those who followed the series from the beginning, this ending was a hard blow, leaving a feeling of deep disappointment and a stain on the legacy of a work once beloved for its sweetness.

It features a collection of animated shorts, each between 2 and 5 minutes long, that seem to function as extra scenes or small ideas that were never fully developed for the main episodes of the anime.
These short stories can be seen as a complement, offering additional insight into the characters' universe and expanding on the charm and lightheartedness already present in the original series.
The tone of the shorts is consistently cute and comedic, maintaining the same light-hearted energy that characterizes the main anime.
These mini-episodes capture simple and fun moments of the characters, exploring everyday situations that could have been included in the regular episodes, but
...
were somehow discarded or left out.
This creates a sense of "what if?" in relation to what could have been included in the main plot, giving the viewer a little more taste of the protagonists' daily lives.
Despite their short length, each clip manages to convey a light and unpretentious humor, focusing on the affectionate and funny interactions between the characters. Often, these are simple scenes, such as a small talk or a funny misunderstanding, which are enhanced by the natural cuteness of the protagonists.
These moments, although not essential to the main plot, deepen the relationship between the characters and bring a sense of continuity and expansion to the anime's universe.
Visually, the shorts follow the same simple and captivating animation style of the anime, maintaining the visual identity and the characteristic charm of the work. The fast and agile format makes them a fun and light option for those who want to consume quick and relaxed content, without committing to full episodes.
For fans of the series, these shorts are like little gifts that reveal the more fun and relaxed side of the anime, offering an extra dose of cuteness and laughter.

It is a direct sequel to the 2011 anime, which continues to explore the characters' lives in a captivating way, focusing mainly on the dynamics between the girls.
The plot is still not the central point, but rather the development of the interactions and friendships between the protagonists, which becomes the true attraction of the ova.
Each episode offers moments of relaxation, centered on everyday and simple situations, but with a lightness and charm that keep you engaged.
The animation in this sequel shows a significant evolution compared to the original.
Although it still maintains the visual simplicity, the fluidity of the movements and the attention to detail are
...
remarkable, giving it a smoother and more polished feel. This refinement in the animation, combined with an artistic style that remains faithful to the cute and welcoming tone of the first anime, provides a pleasant and nostalgic visual experience for those who followed the work from the beginning.
Even without a complex narrative, I easily give it an 7, as the OVA offers a more satisfying ending, filling in gaps left by the previous anime and bringing a sense of closure to fans who followed the characters' development.
The simplicity of the plot does not diminish the emotional impact that the interactions between the friends have, as the focus is on the small gestures and moments of genuine connection between them.
The anime continues to preserve the comforting and lighthearted atmosphere of the original, with the soft soundtrack complementing the atmosphere.
The warm and cute tone is intensified by the improved animation, which, together with the vibrant personalities of the characters, offers a calm experience, ideal for those looking for simple but engaging entertainment.

It's a light and fun anime, ideal for those who want a relaxing and humorous experience.
(If you're looking for a slice of life with a story, you're in the wrong place.)
The story basically follows the daily routine of Run Momoki and her friends, each with their own distinct personalities that make them lovable and form the heart of the show.
The situations are simple, but always unexpected, with a relaxed tone that creates good moments.
The plot, although not the main focus, serves as a backdrop for the funny and cute interactions between the characters, creating funny moments.
The animation, although not impressive, is well executed and complements
...
the light-hearted style of the anime, while the songs, which change with each episode, add an extra touch to the engaging atmosphere.
One of the anime's strong points is its voice cast (I never thought I'd hear Jotaro Kujo have a fetish for high school girls' foreheads).
Run and her friends are interesting, and their interactions are always fun, which makes it easy to get attached to them.
The unexpected situations that arise in each episode guarantee a constant dose of entertainment, without the need for a complex plot.
With a mix of light humor, cute characters doing cute things, and an engaging soundtrack... cute I give it a 6, the anime fulfills its obligation of being a cute moe and offers a pleasant and fun experience.
If you are looking for an anime to relax and let yourself be carried away by the surprises of a day-to-day full of charm and laughter, this is a great choice.
With my review finished, I say goodbye with a "Furimukinagara bai bai ♡", thank you for reading this far.
