This was a huge let down for me. I knew it wouldn't be as good as Maria Watches Over Us but I hoped for something at least interesting. Poor characters don't help the boring story. Bad run on jokes, a poor thought out romance, and overly dramatic plot twists with the most pointless central idea of a boy turned into a girl make it even worse. Yasuna's weird illness just becomes stupid the instant its mentioned. Hazamu is unlikable as either a boy or girl. I can't say enough bad things about this show.

This is one of the best sci fi shows that I've ever seen. Its a mix of comedy, romance, and drama that never fails to surprise you. Every character is interesting and love-able. The plot twist are shocking and sometimes disturbing while making you eager to see what happens next. This show also sdes a good job of making empathize with the characters. I went from laughing out loud to sad to excited without it feeling like I was watching a different show. It's not many shows that can change its genre so quickly and still feel like one single whole. I'm sure many people have very passionate feelings for a show like this but mine are apathetic at best. There was a lot of anticipation and promise for the show from me. Much of it was from reviews and the misleading descriptions I've read. As all great movies do this one relies on the basic humanity of the characters to push the story forward. The story comes together naturally as a simple birthday weekend turns into a battle to save the world from an out of control AI that is taking over the world's internet. This movie is a mess whether you've seen the original series or not. It starts out rushing to introduce multiple characters with fight after without any context. Each fight has many dramatic twists and turns but as an audience you're left wondering who you want to win or why the fight is happening anyway. Even the overall story has no history to tell you why anyone is fighting for the holy grail, which turns out to be an odd pile of goo. The only real positives are the general character designs and the slightly greater focus on Rin, who I always thought was more interesting

This show is really stupid. As the show progresses it challenges your patience for the mind numbing and ridiculous story while adding poor dialog, bland art, and predictable, generic characters. The idea of using mental illnesses as an element of science fiction has had a great tradition of making classic stories that transcend its creation, but when its used this poorly it just becomes a giant disappointment. Instead of this nonsense read Philip K Dick or watch Blade Runner, you'll be happier for it.

This show has to be seen all the way through to properly judge it. It's a mystery that gives many pieces but doesn't show the whole puzzle until the end. I had a hard time getting interested in most of the episodes, hence the somewhat low score, because of how the heroes and villains were so hard to tell apart. Some of the heroes would do evil things for reasons you didn't know but none of the other characters in the show questioned while the villains seemed in the right. While this show is random and crazy it is also really funny. Every character is memorable and surprisingly complex while still adding an element of charm that makes this show stand out as one of the best comedy animes out there. The show is elevated even more by the romance between the two leads. I can't recommend this show enough.

I was Shocked to enjoy this show, especially as much as I did. It starts out really strange with cotton ball enemies that have mustaches and a talking cat thing that was the super cute, annoying type I usually despise but somehow, the negative opinion I had when I started was blow out of the water with one of the most surprising stories I've seen in quite a while. The magical girl genre was never one of the most original but the brutal deaths and true tragic characters, along with an extremely intelligent ending make this one of the must see anime that come along

This show had so many great qualities that I really hate giving it such a mediocre score. The art quality stands out as one of clamp's most beautiful, especially Saya's design and the jarring change from a simple school life to the brutal violence. I also thought most of the action scenes were well done and the characters were the right choice for the story.
