The protagonist of Kirakira☆Precure A La Mode and Sugar Apple Fairy Tale are very similar to each other. Ichika (KKPCALM) and Ann (SAFT) are both teenage girls who have pursued confectionary making do to their mother making also amazing confectionaries. On their sweet (pun intended) adventures, they are accompanied by various fairies, with one being a potential love interest. They also very aesthetically similar, as they have pinks frilly dresses and hair put up in twin tails. However, if you're expecting Sugar Apple Fairy Tale and Kira Kira Precure A La Mode to be similar anime, you'd be mistaken. The former is a melodramatic fantasy adventure where Anne experiences various challenges to her climbing the silver-sugar sculpting industry ladder. The latter is a magical girl anime with action, comedy and delicious sweets.
