This review is for End of the World.
If I were listening to The Resistance by Muse on LSD, this is what I would see, and I would wake up and never want to have a high like that ever again.
MAY CONTAIN MINOR SPOILERS! (not that it matters... it's only 10 minutes long)
Story: The story itself had a dark underlying meaning behind. For example, aliens taking over the world in the future and killing us all. You'd never want to see that world. It was decent story an anime short. If I say more, I'll just give away spoilers, but I can say that it was
...
very unique.
Art: I liked the old school artwork. It remind me of an animated Sims. I would have to say that it is the art that saves the anime. The colors also give you the feel of being high... very high... like outrageously flamboyantly high. But overall, I did like it.
Sound: Music was almost absent besides the OP. I did like the OP though. The name of the song is Saloone by Lolita No. 18, which the anime does a job of promoting. Ah, shameless self promotion... I love music.
Character: I actually did like the main characters Kazumi and Yuko. Japanese Punk Rock chicks in a psychedelic dream about defeating aliens? Pretty sweet. Fight scenes were decent too. Pink blood...
Enjoyment: I won't lie. I enjoyed the short somewhat... But I'm a hippie so... I'm not surprised I did...
After watching Sweat Punch's Kigeki which was an absolute masterpiece, I have to say... I expected much, much more.

Ah, Romance of the Three Kingdoms. It is truly one of the classics of Chinese literature. It is an amazing story of war, bloodshed and honor. However, Souten Kouro seems to take this classic and make it much more uninteresting than it truly is. It stars Cao Cao, often portrayed as a cruel and merciless tyrant, as the hero of the story. After watching the first 11 episodes of the series, I truly know what the Chinese idiom "speak of Cao Cao, and Cao Cao comes," truly means.
MAY CONTAIN MINOR SPOILERS
Story: The story begins with Cao Cao's early life. The story itself generally follows the
...
time-line of Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but takes on a different tactic of telling the story. An example I would like to use would be the Alliance against Dong Zhou. The anime follows history precisely but throws on a handful of encounters that aren't 100% historical. It is true that Cao Cao refuses to become Dong Zhou's right hand man, but in no way does history point out that he does it in such an articulate way. The story makes Cao Cao reign supreme, while throwing Lui Bei in the background as the "villain" of the Three Kingdoms period.
Art: The artwork was very unimpressive. It was more like the manga was reproduced EXACTLY how it looks. They did not any special animation to the anime. When armies were slain, you'd only see blood splurting out of them, and no indication of how they were even cut. Surely production value could not have been so low for a manga that won the 22nd (22nd award every given to a manga, not 22nd place) Kodansha Manga Award in the general category?
Sound: Beautiful is the only word I can think of to describe the sound of the anime. The music was incredible and fit each situation to the fullest. Mind you, the OP and ED are not amazing, but the soundtrack during the fights, and during every scene were astounding. The music is memorable and that to me, is what really saved this anime.
Character: The characters were not very developed in the anime but what can you expect? It is based more on the history of the Three Kingdoms period than it is on Romance of Three Kingdoms. I will however give an honorable mention to Cao Cao's character portrayal. Throughout the anime, you can feel his character slipping slowly into the tyrannical warmonger we all know and love.
Enjoyment: I did enjoy this anime to a certain extent and I would have given it a 7 over the 5 because of it but the story itself progressed in a way that was a little boring. Mind you, if you love Chinese politics and the era of the Three Kingdoms in general, you'll want to watch this anime despite any review you see. However, it was not my cup of tea, and I lost interest very quickly.

Imagine yourself as a once feared member of a notorious gang, and now in your early 20's, you've decided to become a teacher to change student's lives. However, there is one problem: You're perverted, you've never been really smart, and you know you can't pass the teacher's examination.
This was the case for Eikichi Onizuka, 22 years old. However, he did have a lot of strong points.
MAY CONTAIN MINOR SPOILERS
Story: After Onizuka Eikichi got employed at Holy Forest Academy. He was made in charge of the infamous class 2-4. They were known for shaking the foundations of teachers by doing horrible things to them. They made
...
them look stupid by outsmarting them, torturing them by throwing water at them, and getting them fired through scandals such as taking girl's panties. They were notorious, but Onizuka was not afraid. He tamed them. One by one. That is the basis of this anime. Onizuka's quest to gain the trust of the students of class 2-4, and to have them believe that teachers are worthy of their respect. Of course, on the way, he'll still be trying to catch a glimpse of his female student's panties. You wouldn't want it any other way.
Art: This is an old school anime. Art is not up to par as today's anime. But I enjoyed this artwork a lot more. The facial expressions are extremely well done and more realistic than recent anime artwork. The studio did not skip out on artwork to save money, but beautifully recreated the artwork of the manga as best as they could have for the anime. They did an excellent job. It reminds me of the artwork of Evangelion, and Slam Dunk.
Sound: There were two opening songs. Driver's High by L'arc~en~Ciel and Hitori No Yoru by Pornograffitti. These two songs made up the sound of the anime. I looked forward to hearing these songs with every episode I watched. They are very memorable. I do not usually watch the ending songs of anime unless they catch my interest from the first note, so the ending songs are much less memorable to me. The music of the anime seems nonexistent, but that is not a bad thing. It only means that it fit each scene perfectly and did not wreck the anime's mood. It was beautifully made.
Character: Perhaps the best part of this anime were all the characters. The characters were beyond the story itself. Each new student that was introduced had a grudge against teachers and each of their grudges was shattered and their trust in teachers renewed by Onizuka. Each character also had their own special trait. They were well made and voice acted extremely well. Don't watch the dubbed version. It's a joke.
Enjoyment: Perhaps one of the best shonen anime out there, I greatly enjoyed GTO. If you liked such anime such as FMA, Slam Dunk, and Evangelion, then I guarantee you'll love GTO. The story is simple, but it has a big heart and a big message behind it. The only reason this anime received a nine is because of the ending, but it has led me to reading the manga because I couldn't have enough of this anime.
Overall: Watch it. You will not be disappointed.
