School setting. Magic academy. Somehow swords are important despite the magical setting. The plot entirely revolves around a promise MC's has made to a woman. Labyrinth/Dungeon is a mysterious place where a lot of stuff happens. In the first few episodes we see teachers with disdain for MC. Also there's a rivalry with a smug pompous jerk guy who is quickly put in his place. Teachers are hiding something. MC has a singular goal on his mind.

Both anime are torture... por...cupine. There's not much substance here, synopsis is full of promise in boh anime, but it never actually delivers, but if it makes you... feel something, you'll like it.

Seikaisuru Kado

Japan is met with an alternate reality, and the political war with the rest of the world ensues. An entity is given a lot of power of negotiation with the alternate world party. That being said, Gate is pretty much a fan servicey fantasy-driven otaku pandering show with little substance, whereas Kado is about political negotiations about a sci-fi "what if" device and actually does make statements regarding humanity and philosophy of war, sharing and desires.

Renai Boukun
|
Both Death Note and Kiss Note are plot devices in their respectable shows and both are used to further the plot through what is essentially magic, even though the rest of the universe is essentially realistic. Both Death Note and Kiss Note have specific mechanics regarding how they are used, and what the consequences of misusing them are If you liked the concept of an all-powerful book that deals with people's fates in Death Note, you are going to like that concept in Renai Boukun too. It does not kill anyone, but instead makes people fall in love artificially.

Tsugumomo
|
A god/spirit type girl person who subverts expectations and becomes master of a human, actually loves the main character and doesn't mind being seen naked? There you go, pick whichever show you want. Though Inukami is more on the funny side, and is mostly comedic filler, Tsugumomo actually progresses story at a reasonable pace.
