Well both stories are completely different but the way that the main protag are brought up in a way that made them sheltered and were othered because of their appearance and their gender. As you progress through both stories you realize how much they both grew. They both grow emotionally stronger and braver. They are both outsiders in their respective stories. Its very rewarding how each story ends but at the same time they both leave you wanting watch even more.
