The soundtrack is bubbly and fitting, and the art style and character designs have a very whimsical and appealing feel to them (Sobek and Set are my favorites!). I love how each character follows the same black-white-gold color scheme, it really helps them stand out in front of the vibrant watercolor-like backgrounds.
Story-wise it's a little lacking, but with how short the episodes are and how most come to a show like this for the characters and not the story, this isn't too much of a problem. I love all of the references, and they aren't so reliant that if you don't get it you won't

while the story and some of the characters may be a little mundane, Trigger more than makes up for what lacks in story with outstanding visuals and soundtrack. I found myself listening to the OST months after seeing the movie in theaters.
The animation, as for nearly every trigger animation, is extremely well done and flows outstandingly. It may have the signature Trigger style, but it has a visual flair to add a literal spark to it. The action had my eyes glued to the screen and me at the edge of my seat the entire time. I left the theater wanting to see it ... |
