Spoilers ahead:
Pupa aired in January of 2014 has some questionable topics.
The anime is really disturbing especially to younger viewers. There are scenes where a little girl is eating her younger brother. There is this thing called a nexus which has the purpose of preventing this thing I just mentioned to happen. So going out of natures way to make a short, low quality horror anime will obviously induce hate.
But there is more to it. I have this sentiment that it's strongly based on Tokyo ghoul which aired about 4 months before Pupa.
If this is what anime has came to, I can't be proud
