At this moment in time, I have dropped this series once again.
I absolutely LOVE Dragon Ball! It's one of my favorite series of all time (especially Z). I even love GT despite some problems I have with it. I could not get far in Super.
The first two arcs are just retellings of movies. This would be fine if Super added to the story or if it was at least good. At this point in time, I haven't seen the Frieza arc, but I've seen the first arc and it's complete ass. It is just the movie, but at a snails pace in slow motion!

It's THAT SLOW! Other than the padding and obnoxiously slow pace, the animation isn't even good. There were some small sections of neat "sakuga", but most of the animation was trash or barely passable.
The characters aren't even good. Goku is really bad in Super. He is too stupid and he's a giant training freak! They got his character all wrong. If you don't understand what I mean by "giant training freak", then watch episode 17. He's insane! They also did Vegeta dirty fr. They just ignored his character arc from Z and made him this asshole who hates his family. They try to make it look like he still cares (in a scene that I won't spoil), but why did they make him a huge asshole to his family? Btw, I really hate Beerus and Whis. They are really annoying characters (especially Whis).
If you really want to watch a continuation to Dragon Ball Z, then just watch GT. In my opinion, it's a way better continuation that respects the series.
I might watch more at another time just so that I can see if it gets better, but I'm not looking forward to it.
