Storyline: Good if somewhat predictable.
Pacing: Slow to the point of almost being dropped several times.
Characters: This is a mixed bag. Many of the characters are cliché to the point of being annoying. The main characters are ok but never seem to grow over the 12 episodes.
Art style: Here is where I have issues. The pastel and watercolor motif is cute but creates a blurry effect. I am sure they could have created crisper and sharper images while still holding to that pallet.
Final thoughts: If the target audience was small children, then the art style works but the plot involving possible deaths was too

This is a singularly unfunny anime. You have the world's most unlikable main character, teamed up with a punching bag, her mother, and a summoned creature. The mother does have two witch friends, but they offer nothing in story building.
The art style is not bad but nothing special. The plot is always "airheaded girl attacks anything that likes her mother." It is not even a good "slice of life" anime as they don't progress from the single joke. If watching characters get hurt, killed, eaten and abused, you have found the anime for you. All that said, if you liked Dropkick on my Devil or The ... Jul 27, 2022

I was prepared for this to be the "put your mind on hold and watch" anime of the season. I expected something along the line of "dungeon only I can enter" and got something that frankly is worse, conceptionally, than "Peter Grill." I have always had trouble with how anime uses slavery as a plot devise. In the case of "Deathmarch" or Rising of the Shield Hero" at least the concept was used to raise someone's station and lift them out of problems. Here, without going into details, the plan is straight forward: use someone for your own ends. It will not matter

I was prepared to find this to be lower rated anime just because it was based on an upcoming game... but I was pleased to find I was wrong. The art style was good. The action sequences were well executed. The overall plot was a pleasant change from the normal generic anime. It was good to see an anime where female characters can be endearing while still clothed.
Then we turn to the music. I know classical music may not be everyone's taste, but the pieces chosen are great pieces that are used well and not tacked on as an afterthought. The concept ... Jun 21, 2022

I was really sort of enjoying the anime... then suddenly it decided it wants to change premise and do the Hunter X Hunter entry exam. I guess the writers chopped up some successful animes and patched together a storyline. But the stylistic changes come very late in the run and are jarring. It is ok, but just ok.
Sound quality varies widely throughout. Fight scenes are good to above average. The Chibi version of the spirit is annoying at best. The animal spirit controlling a human figure concept gets lost along the way and you almost forget it is there. Given time and work this could become a ... Oct 27, 2021

Try to think of an unholy child of Giabate and Ex-Arm. Take characters who are totally unlikable, team them with dumb as a post boss, mix well and serve a hot steaming mess.
The basic concept of "look for the things that might end the world" could work if someone tried to make an effort at character development and dialog... but that seems to be missed here. Main character is boring but could be better. Side character is just annoying. The fat guy boss serves as "Phil-up T Exposition" with no real reason to be on screen. Seems fitting the first episode showed a train wreck... ... Apr 25, 2020

One of the first anime I ever saw... all the way back in the 1970's. It is important to compare this to anime of the era in terms of art and storytelling. A fun romp with a lot of action. Still the entire run has an overarching story and an environmental message. The "Battle of the Planets" version is much more child directed than the original with huge cuts to avoid issues here in the United States. I own DVD versions of many anime titles but this is one of the few long run series purchased; along with Space Battleship Yamato.
