This Anime changed my life. Given I watched this years ago when i was 15 and i'm 22 now but my opion is still the same.

Yuri on Ice! it not a Super serious Drama sports anime. its more Light hearted, With the occasional serious moments. The music and coragraphy for the routine are amazing and match the characters so well.
As for the romance/queer part of the story. Some say its subtle however, I think that sharing a Kiss and exchanging literal rings isn't queer baitng. don't listen to the haters. there isn't a lot of romance scene but it also isn't a romance anime so ... it makes sense. the goal of the story is about Yuuri finding his passion for skating again and he just happens to find love in it along the way.

As for how Yuri in Ice changed my life. I was an athlete myself, In baton twirling. I was hitting a point where I felt exactly like Yuuri. SO while I watched I found myself understanding him and how much it hurts to fail even if you're parents are proud of you regaurdless. Representing the anxiety of letting someone down, and veiwing your own selfworth based on a single preformance.
Seeing Yuuri work hard and rekindle the passion to compete in Figure skating inspired me to work hard like him. The next season I used history makers as my Freestyle music. I didn't get first but i did much better than I've ever done before. and when I competed in solo I cried tears of Joy When i got Second place a nationals just like Yuuri did.

In short. this Anime brought back a passion i had for a sport i loved. It taught me how to love smiling, and preforming again. If anyone who's an Athlete is struggling I'd 100% recommend them to watch this. with hope that they'll kindle the same spark i got from it.

I also got my Mom to watch it with me and it abosolutly obsessed with Yuri on Ice. Constatly asks me when season two is coming out. lmao
