This season was such a good introduction to the anime, while I think it definitely gets better from the start, I really enjoyed this season and it very easily drew me into the show. Easily the best sports-anime I have ever seen, and overall it is a really enjoyable show that has grown to be one of my favorites. The characters are all really well written, which significantly makes up for the very basic plot (not bad in any way, but isn't necessarily special). Would highly recommend anyone who wants to try a sports anime. The animation is very high quality and helps keep you ... engaged despite the show being mainly volleyball games. "Enemy" teams are always interesting enough to where you actually care about who wins in every game, even if the main one isn't in it. I am planning on reading the manga soon but too my understanding, the anime follows the manga pretty well.
